The range from hot to cold, bedroom to bath in the middle of winter was a challenge, but Evelyn was consistently attentive and our stay, a really positive experience. She made us feel at home. The kitchen was well equipped and provisioned for breakfast. Great location, too. Thanks, Evelyn!

Evelyn was lovely, and greeted me graciously when I arrived though it was well after 22:00 (10:00 p.m.). At first I was surprised because the rooms did not really look like the pictures, and it seemed much smaller than I'd imagined, but it ended up being very comfortable and she very graciously also invited me to use her living room which is connected in an open fashion to the kitchen and 2nd WC. She was extremely helpful, and took a great deal of time to help me find places and make decisions as to what is best to see/do. We got along really well and chatted due to our common professions etc. There were a few glitches, mostly technical (1st night I couldn't get the TV remote to work, and to set the alarm you need a PhD in Apple instrumentation!!! and both those things were extremely frustrating. She was already asleep or I'm sure she would have helped me immediately. As soon as I told her the next morning, she realized that she should write instructions in her book on "How To...". I am sure that she will do so for the future. She made me feel very comfortable and to really feel at home which for me was very important and made my trip much more enjoyable and less stressful. (Even when I had a difficult time deciding what to do and getting out the door... she helped to get me going!!) On my last night there was a sudden power out, and fuses were tripped for some reason though I had not touched anything, and she was sleeping. The next morning - even though she was quite ill - as soon as I told her about the fuses she immediately fixed them and went back to bed. I felt badly to have bothered her, (though I needed light etc.) but she was still very helpful and did not seem to mind me bothering her. I would certainly recommend Evelyn's house and though I did not see the upstairs apt's. I am sure they are lovely as well. I certainly intend to discuss my staying there again on my upcoming 3 week working visit.

Staying with Evelyn was fantastic!! She was so nice and fun to talk to and her house is so nice!! The space was even better than I expected with a lovely room, sitting room and access to the kitchen. I can not say enough how great it was to stay there!! Thanks Evelyn, I hope to stay again sometime soon!

My son and I had a perfect stay with Evelyn in Brooklyn. She is a very thorough, welcoming and helpful host. The house is very cozy and it was wonderful to have all this space at our disposal. The area is safe and convenient for exploring Borooklyn and Manhattan.

The accommodations were very comfortable, clean, charming. I was able to experience living in Park Slop for a few days. Evelyn was a perfect host. She was available if needed, but if I needed to be alone, I was comfortable doing that. The suite was set up for complete privacy except sharing a bathroom. At the same time, I felt comfortable going to the kitchen to get breakfast. or staying up late talking with her. This was a wonderful first time experience for me. I will visit her again

Evelyn is a natural host, and runs her beautiful and modern accommodations with all the warmth and care of a New England bed & breakfast. Hope to be back soon! Sean

Fantastic experience at Evelyn's place in Brooklyn. A great location in the heart of Brooklyn and close to subway for access to Manhattan. The apartment is of a very high quality with excellent sleeping arrangements for our party of 4 people. Evelyn even stocked the fridge with provisions for breakfast. We arrived early but there was no problem leaving our bags in the apartment while Evelyn got the place ready for our stay. Fresh towels and bedding and we were provided with enough keys. Evelyn also provided lots of information on the surrounding areas. Overall, we were absolutely delighted with the place, location and the host. A perfect place to explore Brooklyn and Manhattan from. We were in town starting our search for a Brooklyn neighborhood to move to. Evelyn's place was perfect. It was beautiful (looks just like the pics) and clean and gave us a real feel for what it will be like to move into a great Brooklyn neighborhood. Her place is steps to 5th Ave where anything you want from shopping to great food and bars is literally around the corner. The subway is an easy few blocks away too. Evelyn was a such a great and friendly host as well. The kitchen was stocked with breakfast items and coffee … the bathroom with any necessities one might have forgotten. She also had a prepared binder filled with her favorite local places and information on access to anywhere you might want to go in the city. We felt that she really cared about the quality of her guests stay - and it was appreciated. Thanks for a great stay Evelyn!

We were warmly greeted by our hostess, who gave us great information about the area. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, spacious, and convenient for our visit to Brooklyn.

Our stay at Evelyn's was great. She was a present, gracious, helpful host both when we were there and in the days learning up to our arrival. The apartment is exactly as represented, has ample space, clean and comfortable accommodations. We especially appreciated Evelyn's patience in working with us as the number of us who'd arrive was uncertain until days before our actual arrival. Her friendly emails helped us to feel relaxed about what could have been a very stressful part of our trip for our family. This apartment is a great value and a wonderful location in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, close to a vibrant commercial area and yet quite residential in "feel."

Apartment is in a great location for the subway, for Prospect park and for some great restaurants. It is clean, light and bright and just big enough for a family of four. Evelyn and Joey were great hosts and respond quickly to all requests and it is really good of Evelyn to leave a full set of basic provisions. We really enjoyed this area of Brooklyn and it was a great base to explore Manhattan from. On our first day we left a backpack containing a laptop and all of our travel documents on the R train and a kind Brooklynite found it and returned it to us the same day - so we can recommend the kind people of Brooklyn highly too!

We loved our stay with Evelyn. She's friendly and helpful and the place was clean, inexpensive, tasteful, and conveniently located.Since we weren't paying fancy rates, we were fine with the small bedroom and narrow hall and bathroom. And Evelyn is regularry improving the place. OK

Evelyn was the perfect host, accommodating and generous and very trusting. The room I stayed in was very clean, quiet and comfortable and her kitchen was very well equipped with well stocked fridge for breakfast. It was perfect for a solo traveller who had work to do, as I could come and go as I pleased, it was quite and well maintained and there is a nice sense of trust and respect in the household. Cannot recommend this host enough. Would definitely stay again.

Evelyn's home is extremely close to public transportation, in a safe neighborhood, and very nicely decorated. There is also a convenient secured parking lot very close by where we were able to leave our car during the week we were there. We had lots of room for five adults, one toddler, and two infants. The kitchens were well stocked which was important because we cooked daily. Throughout our stay, and even before we arrived, Evelyn was enthusiastic, gracious, responsive, and caring. We were very lucky to have found her place as I don't think other properties would have met our needs. We would not hesitate to rent from her again!

Evelyn was a great host and the apartment was super-cute, just like in the pictures. Easy access to Park Slope's fantastic 5th Avenue, and really easy access to a train to Manhattan, too. I was especially grateful that Evelyn was there to greet me even though I arrived close to midnight. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future visits!
