  Stefania was helpful and eager to ensure all went well. The apartment was large and well appointed. Located in a nice, quiet neighborhood northeast of St. Mark's, it is located near a grocery store, water taxi, great coffee shop, stores, and walking distance to most major attractions.

  We were visiting near the christmas holiday, so Sonia was on her way out of town. She met us at the apartment and showed us around and then she was gone. We had a very fun stay there. It is a lovely apartment. I learned how to use the Moka pot for coffee (thanks to youtube video!) and we were off! Favorite part: cappuccino on the roof deck- sun rise and sunset. Beautiful!   We found the apartment to be a wonderful spot for discovering Venice. Had we stayed in San Marco or Dorsoduro we would not have known the other four Sestiere. From this apartment in Castello we walked everywhere - lost some of the time - but with a good map, a magnifying glass, and a flashlight we always reached our destination. Linda, the hostess's aunt, who lives on the floor beneath, was extremely helpful every time we experienced a problem (which occurred only twice.) Stefanie, our hostess, very available by phone and email. Wi-fi worked well. A grocery store near by. We ate breakfast and dinner in the apartment. We would stay here again.

  if you rent this apartment, you will truly live like a Venetian. I stayed one week in venice at Stefania's apartment, and the pictures very realistically portrayed the apartment, the downstairs gave you the feeling like you were visiting your home away from home, with its own full kitchen, two full bathrooms, full living room. I recommend you bring a power adapter to charge your laptop, cellphone, and camera battery... bring at least 2 adapters to power up your devices, because if you're from the U.S. your gadgets will not plug in anywhere. also, i hope you bring your unlocked iphone or your unlocked Android smartphone... I was using an unlocked T-Mobile Nexus One cellphone while i stayed in the apartment. if you have a smartphone, just go to your local neighborhood TIM italian mobile shop, and purchase a prepaid SIM card at the TIM store, you'll have 3G internet on your phone you can use (website hidden) maps, and GPS Navigations to walk anywhere and everywhere you need to go. venice is a place where there is only walking and water travel, there are no scooters, no cars. trying to navigate by paper map is OKAY, but more difficult, having (website hidden) maps on your smartphone tell you when to turn to get to that restaurant you wanted to get to, or how to get to the tourist spots is perfect!. back to the apartment, you have to walk upstairs so try to pack light. and i already mentioned the downstairs, now let me talk about the upstairs.... it is beautiful, especially the rooftop view, the upstairs has a cozy bed for two which was perfect for my wife and I. there is WiFi internet inside the whole apartment which was perfect, especially if you know how to make free voip calls to the united states using no mobile minutes. free text messages with (website hidden) voice is another plus. Stefania has some interesting artwork for you to look at, plus she leaves snacks for you to eat in the kitchen. Stefania was a perfect host. I was very grateful at her dedication to help us arrive at midnight from the waterbus stop to the apartment. she invited us to one of her favorite coffee and snack places which we enjoyed, and she also helped us find our way to the TIM shop to buy a SIM card. the weather in october was perfect, no need for an air conditioner seeing as the high was 75 and the low was near the 50's fahrenheit. so it was perfect all around. on check-out day, the host offered to hold our luggages at her aunts house because of another guest checking in, because we had a very late flight out. Stefania was so nice to us, i feel like she's my aunt from another country. we did most of our "living" upstairs and almost never used the downstairs living room at all. upstairs has everything you need, full bath, balcony access, and time to unwind and relax with the wife while you surf the net on your laptop.

  Stephania's apartment is in a great location, and easy walking to the main attractions. Even though we only met Stephania on arrival, she was very prompt with replying to our emails. Aunt Linda was also very heplful and much appreciated.

  excelente ubicacion, solo que si hubiera querido buscar un hotel, lo hubiera hecho, por el check in time and out, aun no eran las 11 y ya nos estaban tocando para hacer check out, eso si no nos gusto para nada! la ubicacion es muy buena, cerca de lugares ricos para comer y del taxi acuatico que te lleva al aeropuerto/estacion de tren.

  The apartment was spacious and the host's aunt responded promptly when we were there. However, the place feel as though it was not cleaned properly before my arrival. The location is within walking distance of most attractions in Venice.

  Despite not knowing any of the Italian language, Linda was still able to make my stay an enjoyable one. I was given clear instructions on how to find the apartment and never had gotten lost in Venice. The room was large and extremely clean. The apartment is walking distance to everything, and of course conveniently located beside the vaporetto stop. Thanks for such a great stay!

  We had an absolute fabulous time staying with Linda. The first night we arrived late in the night and found Linda waiting for us outside by the ferry station to greet us. She prepared breakfast for us every morning and made sure that we found our way to the places we wanted to go. We are glad to have found Sonia and Linda's place in Venice. It is very conveniently located and spacious.

  Great stay at Mamma's house. The location of the room is really good, tucked away outside the most touristy and packed areas, but just a short walk to them (10 minutes, if you find your way, to St. Mark's Sq.) and 5 minutes walking to 2 Vaporeto Stations. The host is a very very nice Italian mamma, who in spite of her not speaking English (I am Brazilian and speak Spanish, so I could understand some of the Italian) will make you feel at home from minute 1. The room is big, and has a sofa as well as the double bed. It also has 3 windows with a view to the small road in frond. I definitely recommend this room for a nice stay in Venice!

  Stefania was a great host, very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and the location was excellent. Venice is an expensive city and the apartment is reasonably priced. I've stayed in Venice before and knew what to expect from the apartment, it is not a hotel, it's an old Venetian apartment. There is no internet, but we knew that when we booked it, so you can't really complain about that. I would happily stay again. Thank-you!

  It was a real cozy family room. Linda was a great hostess, and she was very kind with us, she doesn´t speak english or spanish but she try to explain and advice us about everything in a third languange which it was very funny!! The apartment was clean, warm, the location was good and we have everything we wanted. If I had to say something negative in compare with another places that I´ve hosted before, it was the breakfast. It was a good breakfast but It was a bit scarse, though it was good quality.

  I can really reccomend this Host and B&B!!! The apartement in the typical venetian building is cleen, nice, silent, spacious and confortable. The host Linda is a very kind Lady, friendly without beeing pushy. The location is very close to the Biennale, but also a nice walk to the main attractions like Piazza San Marco and Ponte di Rialto. In the area you actually get to see real venetian life, not only "herds" of tourists! ;) Thanks a lot!!

  If we could have given minus stars in the above rating we would have. This place, in our opinion, is not suitable for travellers looking for an alternative to a hotel. It is similar in price to any three star hotel/pensione in Venice; however, this place would in our vast experience of travelling through Europe, and Italy in particular, is single star quality. Even the great location does not redeem this place as we found a pensione just around the corner for less on our last morning. However, if you are looking for that 'squat' experience, then this is just up your street...
