Kingfisher Lodge

First experience trying Airbnb. I was a little hesitant about staying with someone I had never met in what can be considered a somewhat dangerous country. Needless to say I'm glad that I was able to stay with Elsbeth at the Lodge and had a wonderful experience. She is very friendly and offered to help me out in anyway I needed. The breakfasts were well prepared and early which I enjoyed so I could get a nice start to the day. I recommend staying at the lodge where you have access to internet, a pool, TV, and best of all great company and friends.

A warm and friendly host who went out of her way to make my stay pleasant and easy. Elsbeth looked after me after an operation I had in Johannesburg. She drove me personally to and from appointments, as well as taking me to see the sights and shopping. Without her help I would have been lost. The room was lovely and cosy with private bathroom, wireless internet and TV. I had some of my meals with the hosts. The house has an impressive veranda and garden, as well as a swimming pool. Monte Casino, a major entertainment center is within walking distance. There were buses available to Sandton and from the the Gautrain. Thank you Elsbeth for making my stay a memorable one!

Kingfisher Lodge is a charming and comfortable place to stay. Elsbeth is a wonderful hostess who provides excellent breakfasts, information and atmosphere. I will definitely return!

The Kingfisher Lodge was a safe and cozy home away from home. As a female travelling alone, Elsbeth arranged rides for me so that I never felt unsafe. Incredible time. Elsbeth went out of her way to make transportation arrangements for me for the World Cup finals. She even bought maple syrup to make me feel at home!

This was a great experience. Elsbeth is extremely welcoming and made great efforts to help me prepare for my trip ahead of time as well enjoy it while I was there. She was Making suggestions on sights, travel, making phone calls on my behalf. Being a very picky eater I was glad to see her very considerate about that and prepared my breakfasts to my liking. Her place is very nice, secure, clean, and located in an excellent area such that finding a taxi, getting to a shopping area, or train to the airport is extremely easy
