About this listing

Nice and spacious cabina with one double and one single bed in a private garden, 700mts from the beach. Access to the outdoor kitchen. For 2 to 3 people.

The space

Clean and charming cabina with privacy, located in the middle of nature, calm 7000 sq mts private treed garden, the magnificent Playa Negra is at 700mts with his surf spot and his unforgettable sunset, ten minutes by walk, 2 with a car. For surfers beginners and also for swimming you'll find also there Sandy Beach. During low tide kids and families like to lay in the sandy natural pools of Playa Negra.
Center of the village is at 300mts. This one is located 20kms south of Tamarindo and 27kms west of Santa Cruz, Guanacaste. Playa Avellanas is 3kms north, you'll find there a nice lounge bar on the beach, Lola's and waves of course.
To have fun in the waves, sharing a beer for the sunset with the local community, observe the birds, iguanas, monos monkeys and nature, canopy, riding horses, bike trekking or fishing. Also a good base for visiting the Nicoya Peninsula and its many beaches and mountains.
Independant cabina with bathroom and toilets, 2 to 3 people, 60$ a night for 2 people.
Tour advices and good plans, where to rent a car, hire a surf teacher, a horse or doing a bike trekking, and more hidden places as the good places to eat and have a drink.
Roads are bad in costa Rica and especially around Tamarindo. It can take you at least one hour to do Playa Negra-Tamarindo in case of rains, our district has only dirt roads, from Paraiso to Tamarindo (but they are rebuilding the road now). We strongly recommend to rent a car to be free of moving to not depend of some expensive taxis. After Paraiso and Tamarindo, public transport is non-existent. If you're looking for the crowd and for nightlife, this is not the place. Even if the place has all modern conveniences, it is surrounded with the wild, and more recommended for people looking for this kind of tourism.

Had a nice week-long retreat here. Yvan and his family were very accommodating, nearby if we needed something, but otherwise left us to our own devices. The place wasn't hard to find after you got to know the area a bit. The cow is EXTREMELY obvious, I thought it was a joke but there's a big blue cow statue sitting at the corner of the road. Creeks weren't completely dry but my tiny (terrible/awful/etc) rental car made it through with no issues. Do NOT take the shortest route from Tamarindo to Los Pargos (Ruta 928 south) in a small car, you'll have a bad time. The grounds are very well kept. He has a beautiful property in a nice rural remote setting. There is pretty dense jungle all around so there were plenty of neat birds and animals to see. Cabin itself was clean and well kept. It had decent airflow but if you close some of the windows for privacy it gets stuffy really quick. That was probably the biggest downside of it. Shower had hot/warm water so that was a plus. Outdoor kitchen was actually pretty nice, although the restaurants in the area are so good you'll probably opt for those instead of cooking yourself! We walked to restaurants a lot and it's fairly quick to get there, although you'll want to bring a flashlight if it gets dark. Beach is a bit further but only about 15min walk. Parking lot gets full during peak season so walking is a plus.

Cute bungalow was just what my husband and I needed for our Christmas in playa Negra. We felt very welcome during our stay. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for breakfast and hanging out. It was nice that there was a fridge to keep our beverages cold. Make sure to buy some bottles of wine from Yvan, you will be happy you did! Communication and instructions beforehand were great.
