  Janos en Jozsef are super friendly hosts. They make delicious breakfasts with lots of fruit and wonderful cooking. They also gave us very useful advise about the city and were a lot of fun to talk to during breakfast. The room and bathroom are very clean, and the location is perfect: right in the city center. Definitely recommend this place!

  Janos and Joszef were wonderful hosts - they were warm, welcoming and accommodating. We were given great advice on where to eat, what to see and how to get around; thanks to them, we saw Budapest through local eyes and had an amazing time. Highly recommended!

  It was really a big pleasure to be at Janos' place. He's a very friendly person, as well as Joszef, both taking care of the appartments. They are helpful and both like very much to give informations about their city, or about good/interesting restaurants and about places that are not so well known by tourists. At the same time they are not obtrusive. There was always fruit at breakfast, and this was presented in such a very personal and decorative way: it was every day a surprise! Janos also organises his own biketours for his guests, but unfortunately I was not able to take part. Anyway, I tell my friends to stay at their place, when they plan to go to Budapest. Of course I'll return, in case of another visit. Also Sculptors B&B (and 1 or 2 of their other appartments) are in a very agreeable part of the town - not a touristic area, which made it interesting to me. And safe as well, with some flair. Lifely in an agreeably way - not "screamingly" loud, but with nice cafés, restaurants, small shops, fashion, and very well located concerning all kinds of public transport. I was very happy indeed!

  We were in Budapest in May and stayed at the Sculptor B&B. It was a very homey, big, comfortable and clean room. The building is classic with a great view from the room, it is close to trains and buses, shops, banks and restaurants, and a short walk from all the main sights, and only a minute from the River Danube. The breakfasts are delicious and healthy. Janos and Jozef are gentlemen, perfect hosts and very generous with information and time. We only have good memories, and good things to say about the apartment and the hosts, and will stay there next time we visit Budapest.

  This was my first visit to Budapest. I was traveling by myself and did not know anyone in the city. It was definitely worthwhile to stay with Janos and Jozef. The room is spacious and clean, and my privacy was respected. The location is very convenient, near the Danube and proximal to the sightseeing highlights. Janos provided me with a map, guidebook, and his recommendations upon my arrival and immediately made me feel at home. I only had two full days there, and he provided me with a route to see as much of the city as I could in one day. On the second day, he guided me on a bike tour up the Danube to Szentendre, a charming village about 20 km north of the city. It was a perfect day, and I would recommend inquiring about the bike tour even if you decide to stay elsewhere. I can't imagine a more perfect two days in Budapest. It was a great experience. Highly recommended!

  We had a great weekend! If you want to see Budapest from the citizin-perspective, you should definately stay with Janos! He does nice bike-tours as well and his breakfast was delicious.

  The Room was very clean and sunny, and Janos is a very helpful host who will show you the best gypsy stations on the radio and whip up a delicious breakfast. I never knew how good sweet powdered paprika tastes on a fried egg. If you don't want to - Janos is still very very friendly and paprika is entirely optional!!

  I would highly recommend staying at one of Janos' places as he is a very inviting host. Upon arrival we sat down with Janos and went through our ideas for things to do in Budapest - having done very little research we found his advice to be amazing! We had five days in which to fill and we ended up doing pretty much everything that he suggested and had an amazing time. The apartment itself was great as it was warm, secure and convenient to the centre of Budapest (10 minute walk along the river). One thing we didnt know about until arrival (not sure if it was in the fine print on the website) was the deposit of 100 Euros which included 20 Euro for cleaning which he kept. Maybe check with him prior to booking to see if this is the case always. We also did get moved from our original apartment to a better one and had to pay an extra 5 Euro a night - not too much of a hassle but once again something to confirm maybe prior to booking.

  I ended up with the whole apt on Eötvös Utca, instead of a room in the Sculptor B&B on Katona József Utca, which was great. Janos and Josef were gracious hosts, very professional, had tons of good suggestions. They really want to make sure that you like their city as much as they do. I was allowed to drop off my backpack early while they were still cleaning. The directions to the apt was clear and straightforward. It is in a residential neighborhood, safe, centrally located - close enough to most sights but not touristy.

  This was my sixth trip to Budapest. I wish that I had discovered Janos and his bed and breakfast on my first trip. The location of the flat is great! On one hand it is situated within walking distance of so many amazing Budapest experiences; on the other hand, for sights farther away, the tram stop is one block away with easy an connection to the subway. Even though I had been to Budapest many times before, Janos was still able to offer me suggestions for a richer experience. Do yourself a favor: forget the hotel you were thinking about and book either the bed and breakfast or the apartment. You will get great value for your money, friendly and sincere service, and, most importantly, a rich cultural exposure. After your visit, you will leave Budapest having stayed in a real Hungarian accomodation and feeling as if you have made friends with Janos and Josef.

  We were travelling as a company of 5 persons: 1 couple with 11yo kid and another couple and we were looking for a nice place to stay close to Budapest center. The hosts are very nice and caring. They suggested us several great places and cafes to visit during our stay. The appartment is clean and nice and it was very comfortable for 5 persons. PS There is a nice view on a stip-dance school in the building across the street (2nd floor). =)

  Very nice location. This appartment is really in the center of Budapest. near by the Opera House. Also near by the metro station. You will enjoy if you stay there!

  The apartment was nice and cozy, and it was perfect for our short trip to Budapest. Janos was very helpful and friendly, and he gave us good advice on where to go and how to get around. The location was great and we were able to walk almost everywhere. The apartment was very clean, and I would definitely stay here again.

  My wife and I spent two nights at Janos' flat with my in-laws and had an amazing time. Both Janos and Jozsef were very hospitable and gave us a map of the city along with advice on what to see and where to eat. The flat is in a great location near the train station and along one of the main metro lines. The only drawback was that the building was under construction at the time. All in all a great stay in Budapest. When we come back we'll be sure to stay with Janos and Jozsef again!

  We were 4 people in this apartment: My wife and I, our grown up son and my elderly mother. We had plenty of space in this apartment and felt quickly comfortable. The location proved to be very good and we learned quickly the easy ways to get to the main points of interest in Budapest. Janos is a wonderful host with plenty of tips.   Budapest ist eine Reise wert! Die Wohnung liegt zentral, ist geräumig und gemütlich, dazu gut ausgestattet. Nur wird aktuell leider das Gebäude renoviert, was Baulärm mit sich bringt. Dank der Unterstützung/Hinweise von Janos und Joszef haben wir viele schöne Stunden verbracht, vor allem sehr gute Restaurants besucht. Die Betreuung war sehr persönlich und besonders hilfreich - vielen Dank dafür!!!

  Janos was a most gracious host. He helped us plan our stay by sitting us down upon our arrival and making excellent recommendations for what to see and where to eat. The apartment was comfortable, and simple, and the wifi worked. We also had a delightful day with him riding bikes out along the Danube, and through his facilitation, we were spontaneously invited to a wonderful open-air gulash picnic lunch with a very friendly group of Czechs.   My family and I had a great time staying in the apartment. The location is great and the apartment was very clean and nice. The big kitchen and dining table was important for us to be able to sit with our 3 kids and have meals at home. The rooms are airy and nice and they come with their own bathrooms. Janos and Jozsef were wonderful and generous hosts making sure we were comfortable. We will definitely be coming back to stay at one of their apartments in Budapest.
