Our time at David's apartment was great! He had an amazing view an even better pool and overall they were super welcoming. They even went out of their way and made us some delicious dessert and gave us some candles when the lights went out. Their apartment was really clean and spacious. Overall it made our trip to Miguel Antonio/Quepos a solid 10.

Running with the theme of all other reviews of this property, our stay was absolutely incredible. David was an unbelievable host and the place was spectacular. The view is really quite something - totally worth the drive! Our group landed in San Jose and rented a car through Adobe Rent-A-Car (David offers a discount through them!) to drive out to Manuel Antonio / Quepos. I would highly recommend getting a car with 4-wheel drive, since the house is definitely on a pretty steep hill and tucked away. David provided us with picture directions for how to navigate to his property once you're on his road. We arrived in the evening, after the sun had already set, and those pictures were a life saver! You'll want it handy when you arrive, so be sure to save the email/PDF he sends to pull up. The views in the morning are unlike anything I had ever seen before and the infinity pool is an amazing touch. There is a grill by the pool and a grocery store (or 'Pali') about a 5 minute drive away to grab supplies and food, if you want to cook. The kitchen inside also has all the basic necessities. David was attentive anytime we needed anything (extra paper towels or toilet paper), which wasn't often, but he was always a text away. He was available pretty much all the time on - even if we needed a cab into town, he would call one for us and would usually be at the house within 15-20 minutes. It cost around $10 to get anywhere close by (5-15 minutes). Since the hill is so steep and a bit of a walk up/down, we took a cab if we wanted to leave the house and weren't driving. David also recommended a bunch of tours and activities prior to our visit. Some stuff wasn't available in the rainy season, but he booked everything for us and took the hassle out of everything. We were super appreciative of that. We did the Manuel Antonio National Park tour for $45 (a must-see) and you'll definitely want a guide and do it first thing in the morning (like 7-8am). As we were leaving the place was getting super packed, so glad we went early and had the trail mostly to ourselves! If you have a guide, they will have a telescope and you are able to get some up close looks as sloths, monkeys, insects and more. There are also two beaches that are only accessible via the park entrance, so be sure to bring either a change of clothes or walk with a bathing suit on! It's a very casual / leisurely walk and takes about 2.5 hours all in. You can also visit the National Park on your own if you just want to do the walk and spend a lot of time on the beaches there. Most of the locals did this and brought food/coolers to the beach. If I remember...

David's home is beautifully situated at the top of a hill perfectly located between the Manuel Antonio National Park and Quepos. While we did not get to meet David because he was away, he was always reachable by email and arranged a zipline tour for us as well as cabs. He also had a nice couple there on property that assisted with check in and extra towels. The only thing for consideration is that if you are renting a car, I would make sure you get one you know can make it up a steep hill with sharp turns (we were paying for that view so it didn't bother us). However, cab service at the house is available so the altitude was never an issue. David suggested Adobe Rent a Car in his welcome packet which we used and so far it has been very smooth. The property has a grill and everything you need to cook while staying there. I highly recommend David's home to groups looking for a central location with beautiful views, helpful hosts, and an amazing pool!

David was very communicative and responsive from the time of my booking. He and his partner Renee are fabulous hosts. They live in the apartments above and were there for any questions we had from attractions to restaurants. The apartment was wonderful and equipped with everything you would need. They even helped out with our car troubles. The location is a trek from the road so would recommend a car to get around town. The pool was great to spend the hot afternoons relaxing. The balcony was very spacious and great to enjoy watching the wildlife. Thank you David and Renee for making our stay memorable!

David User ProfileDavid is a superhost.

Living in Costa Rica since 2011, I'm from Normandy in France, I moved in south of France in Avignon in 2009 where I met my partner.
We were in vacation in 2011 in Costa Rica, we fell in love with the country.
We visited lot of houses and we found the place to stay. We rebuilt all to make a contemporary house.
We are two persons who love to travel, to meet people from other culture, also to make people feel really good in our place, it's our pleasure to make people have a good souvenir.
