Old style apartment, winter garden

The host canceled my reservation 64 days before arrival.

The apartment is spacious for single traveller and relatively clean. Pos: price is reasonable for single traveller, it is clean , There is a fully equipped kitchen - did not use it! Room is bery well heated for Jan Stefan replies email quickly. Cons: As previous traveller mentioned , dirty linen was left on the bed - I changed the quilt cover to a clean set hanged on the wall , but could not find clean bed sheet - took top sheet off and used the bottom one - i hoped it would be clean. Unable to watch TV- I suppose it is not a problem with any other non Chinese speaking travellers Location : slightly far from metro - 10 - 15 min walk Overall , it is fine.

The apartment is very nice and close enough to subway stop (taking cab is very cheap anyway so that might not matter for a lot of people). There are a lot of places to shop and eat around the area which I really enjoyed. Only thing I think it could been better is that I wish the trash was empty and towels and linens were changed before I got to the apartment (clean towels and linens were at the storage). The host might improve this over time. Otherwise, the place is very spacious and in the great location. Stefan was responsive by emails (you can get wifi in his apartment). Please make sure to read his PDF how to get to the apartment before you go there. There are more than one apartments with the same address. His PDF explains everything very clearly how to get to his apartment.

Stefan's place was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Shanghai. He is a great host and his place was extremely cosy and clean. Thank you Stefan and we hope to have to honour to use your space again. Pam and Jes

Had a superb stay at Stefans place in Shanghai. It was ideally located, being aprox 50min from Shanghai Pudog Airport and about the same or less from Shanghai's station's Bullet Train service to Bajing. 10 to 15minutes in a cab sees you on the River in the Colonial Bund area, which for me was the center of Shanghai. Stefan was away in Germany at the time, so the key was conviently left under the mat. His communication was fantastic, immeadiatly replying to any questions I may have had, plus very detailed information on finding the apartment. The apartment is located in a nice leafy part of Shanghai with a mix of local and even a couple of foregin shops quite close ( Kangaroo Bar just down the road and an genuine Itialian cafe with real coffeee about 5 min. walk should you get homesick ) Small modern and also traditional Supermarkets abound, so it's quite easy to shop and cook for yourself should you want. However, with a little local noodle shop selling the biggest and tastiest chicken and chilli vegitable noodle soup for AUD$1.00.....why bother....!!. Really good security on the front gate leading to the apartments even though I thought it quite unneccessary given the genteel nature of the area. Stefans' is a ground floor apartment with a loverly walled garden area and sun room, and really does have a nice "old world" charm about it. Clean , neat and organised, I could not have been staying in a place that suited my needs any better. Thanks Stefan, I'll be back.

The place perfectly fits the above description, nicely decorated, fast internet, very clean and tidy. Stefan was a great host, answering all emails and requests in no time. Highly recommended.
