Spring has returned to the Seacoast,
and Summer strides not far
behind her comely sister.
Time to be boating - wandering country roads,
basking in the light fantastic.
So - get away with me - your Hostess -
Stephanie at "believes" River-House...lets have some fun!
Nestled in the woods of Lee overlooking the Lamprey River – (Nationally protected and designated “Wild and Scenic” ) Over the years, River-house Retreat has hosted a full spectrum of the family of man - from friends and family, peace seekers, workshop participants, parents of UNH students and visiting tourists – to our friends from the wild around us – including trout, tortoise, beaver, and otter, deer, rabbits, “river rats”, squirrel and chipmunk folk as well as a myriad of birds. Lee is a one shop community (FLASH!-the one store just burned down but we do have a library!)
Believes Riverhouse Retreat is out in the wild heart of nature and here I raised my three incredible daughters on a starting salary of $5.78/hr at the University and also finished raising and finding my own spiritual self - and finally growing up.
The force of creative challenge involved in the dichotomy of moving from spirit- non-form to embodiment presented a challenge for me from birth up until now. - not complaining but a good friend of mine told me once, "Stephanie you are just lightly tethered to this earth and it wouldn't take much of a wind for us to lose you skyward." I don't know if its like this for everyone. But that's a glimpse of me. The greatest challenge for me has also been my greatest teacher. My children - now young adults. For this "single parent" and former "60's flower child wild thing, when I had my daughters I was, my self - soooo lost and confused - and it was here, in the woods, without a man to prop me up, in this pristine place, that I learned to trust life again and to re-discover the true nature of my soul and indeed my purpose for being on this earth.
Always a writer I ultimately (when downsized out of a career position at UNH) I wrote my way - through journals and classes and mentors - into what has become the bedrock for "believe". Though terrified of failing I spoke to other private business owners about fear of failure and how they overcame that and similar impediments to success and opened my own small business. Teaching and helping others how simple and possible it is to publish in the small group workshops I held, and not necessarily to to publish for fame and glory but rather to record for posterity the things we have learned and love and "believe" need to be preserved and passed on for posterity - our own true and hard earned life lessons and stories - because that is what we all come here to do . Alone the task is frightening and seems too hard, but together we are equal to anything we challenge ourselves to accomplish. Each one of us is a worthy , wise and wonderful teacher.
You can find "believe" everywhere I hope soon as my intention is to approach this with a five level sales plan from "mom and Pop" to international stores and franchises, to book stores, to my own franchise team to Libraries and TV.
I hope truly that you will join me - we have a lot of good work to do.
Your Hostess, Stephanie
