The apartment was fantastic! Hanzel was extremely accommodating during my stay and willing to recommend a few places to shop and eat in the area. The apartment was very clean and one of the most unique in El Born! Would love to stay again next time I'm in Barcelona!

Amazingggggggggg Best place in BCN. I stayed at Arts hotel as well as W hotel. This is far better option. Everything is walking distance from the flat. If you want the best . Book with Hanzel. Cheers Wolf

La Chic Born Cocoonflat was everything we expected and more! From start to finish we were thrilled. Great location, awesome flat (pictures and video don't lie), and Hanzel was an amazing host. We got the royal treatment and will definitely be staying with Hanzel next time we are in Barcelona!

La Chic Born Cocoonflat, we are in love! This apartment is truly a hidden gem in Barcelona. The apartment is BEAUTIFUL, the bed is extremely comfortable and the host made sure everything needed for a easy and pleasant stay was provided. The location is fantastic, walking distance from everything and a Coco plus, you can find the best cupcake right across the street. Our only regret? not having book more time in Barcelona at the La Chic Born Cocoonflat. 5 Star!

This is a wonderfully unique and well appointed flat located in the fascinating and vibrant Born neighbourhood. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Hanzel's associate Alejandra who got us acquainted with the flat, and had a wealth of information on things to see and do (paella at Salamanca is a MUST do!) in the area. There are so many things to see and do within steps of the apartment (Picasso museum, chocolate museum, a market festival the weekend we arrived) and we found ourselves simply exploring the neighbourhood on many evenings to see what we could find. Hanzel was always quickly responsive via email to any questions we had. A great host and a fantastic flat in one the most vibrant old neighbourhoods! Thank you again Hanzel.

I chose to stay at Hanzel's Chic Born Cocoonflat because of the excellent location and the slick and unique renovations done to the suite. The price for the place is also a great value however this will be reflected in my review. The good: Location, it's quite unique, and Hanzel and his friends are very good at hosting, responding, and addressing our concerns. The price/value of this place can't be beat. It is very close to the subway. The bad: We had a major issue with the shower clogging. It is quite apparent that because of the popularity of this place problems with the plumbing have emerged. It looks like previous renters washed sand down the drain. As a result you can't keep the shower on for more than 3-4 minutes without it clogging and overfilling onto the floor. Hanzel tried to address it for us on short notice but without a major overhaul/plumber spending a whole a day on it the issue won't be resolved. Some nasty bits also backed up so it wasn't a pretty sight. It is also a tight fit trying to use the bathroom sink. The neighborhood can get feel a bit sketchy at night, and unfortunately in the morning there is a lot of construction/renovations so we awoke to jackhammers every morning. At night it can get quite loud. The bed is a bit close to the door and patio that faces the interior of the building so there isn't much insulation. So you can hear the neighbors quite easily. Talking, tv, footsteps, etc. It wouldn't get quiet until usually midnight. The stairs going up to the apartment are a tight fit. I'm already pretty small so average people may find it's a chore going up and dowon every day. Overall it was a good experience but I would probably consider another place next time. This place is for people who want a true Barcelona experience without being pampered.

My girlfriend and I had the fortune of staying at Hanzel's Cocoonflat during our week in Barcelona, and it was absolutely terrific! The apartment was perfect size for my partner and I, with the location being perfect, just about 5mins walk to the Santa Caterina market for fresh food to cook in the morning, or just eat there!! The amenities were great with a very nice kitchen and big fridge to store all the jamon and food that you're definitely going to buy for a mid-night snack. Oh and did I mention that the bed was perfect! Those who love art will find the Picasso museum very close by, with lots of great food around that area as well! And to work off the feasting, I suggest taking a morning run down to the Barceloneta area along the beach which is very nearby. And to top everything off! Hanzel and his team are absolutely amazing people! The hospitality confirms why they are superhosts! And we will definitely be back!

We would like to thank Hanzel for everything. He is a kind and very helpful person... and for sure he offers the best flats in Barcelona: clean & in amazing style. We had a great time in Barcelona and would like to come back... and of course stay in one of Hanzel's apartments again.

Hanzel was an ideal host. Very warm and welcoming. He was always within reach if we needed help or information. His apartment is gorgeous, and very comfortable. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Perfect location! We enjoyed our time there and Hanzel (and his friend) where great hosts! Thanks for the whisky and the wine by the way!!!!!! It's not a place to go to with you mother-in-law, but with your partner you will have a great time! ;-) JUST GO THERE YOU WILL DEFINITELY ENJOY IT!

Girlfriend and I stayed here for the new years and it was a real treat. The place is as described and the view rocks. Takes a minute to get use to the space as its not your average apartment by any means in the sense everything is tucked away but Hanzel gave me a nice overview and had me up and running in no time. I was traveling with a lot of gear (moving to spain) and there was still plenty of storage for all my bags and my partners stuff. The bed is insanely comfortable and the terrace is a major bonus, specially in the summer time I imagine. Its a hike to get up to the top floor and in a very tight stairwell so keep that in mind, other then that I could not recommend Hanzel more...or his properties. Cheers.

This penthouse is really really amazing! The area is incredible cool.Everything was great I could live Barcelona from a local point of view and I loved it!!! Hanzel is the best Host you could have in your stay in Barcelona he is really a SUPER HOST!!Communication is really fast and efficient.I could not think about a better host!If you want a great experience in Barcelona and be in the best apartments talk to Hanzel and your experience would be unique!

The flat is absolutely amazing, much better than in the pictures! The terrace is a true dream, and the house is fantastically decorated with excellent taste. The area couldn't be much better: you get out of your house, and you are 30 seconds away from Las Ramblas, 2 minutes away from the shopping area, and 10 minutes away from the sea. Could it be any better? No, it couldn't! Although I was a bit tied up because of the Christmas holidays stress and didn't get to know him personally, the other guests have told me he was tremendously helpful, and made sure everything was in place, that they were set, and that they knew where everything was. A true superhost!

I really enjoyed my stay in Le petit penthouse. No matter in which part of the apartment you're, there's always an amazing view.. We loved the silence and the quiet in the terrace. Also: the stars that you can see from there.. The apartment is really close to supermarkets, bars and restaurants. We didn't need to take any transports to visit other parts of the city center. Hanzel was very nice with us and flexible with the times. I really recommend this place, probably one of the best penthouses of the city. The 100 stairs totally worth it...

I came to Barcelona for work, so I had higher demands than someone on vacation. I had a fantastic experience from beginning to end--the host was patient, and generous, and extremely professional. The flat is ideal for Barcelona---excellent location, outstanding amenities (great shower, for instance, and speedy internet), and remarkably quiet. I would say that this accommodation is not for everyone: there are 5 flights of steep, narrow stairs to consider. However, if the stairs don't bother you, you are in for the very best the city has to offer.

Hanzel saved us from sleeping in the streets! We had a misunderstanding with our booked place and Hanzel was a saint in letting us stay in the wonderful cocoon flat! Highly recommended: great location, GREAT apartment, excellent bed and very sweet host! Thank you, Hanzel! :-)

We stayed in this apartment for a week and can only give the highest recommendations. You could really tell that they had thought of everything so that we guests would feel like we had the best stay. For exampel small hotel soaps, a hairdryer in the bathroom, new flowers on the kitchen table, tourist maps, postcards and guides over Barcelona etc. We were a couple with our 10 months old twins and the space was perfect. You could also easely be two couples, there´s a sleeping couch in the living room. The photos don´t lie, the flat was really cool, newly decorated with everything you need. The location couldn´t be better. We´ve been in Barcelona before and Borne is in the center of everything. Nothing feels to far away, our street was charming and quite with restaurants, bars etc. just around the corner. You can´t help loving the two guys from the second you meet them. They´re extremely nice and also very interesting and cool. Their working studio is nearby so you can also reach them in case of anything. We will definetely rent the same flat when we come back. Thanx a million for everything.
