I hate to write a negative review on this place because there really is so much to love about the Airbnb and the host. The only complaint, and it is a big one is the mosquitoes. My wife's legs were covered in mosquito bites the first night. If you can get over the bugs, then this place can be truly amazing. Here's the amazing parts: the decor inside is very nice and chic. The kitchen is well stocked. Nice quiet neighborhood. The snorkeling in the backyard is AMAZING! So much gorgeous fish. Upstairs where you sleep, there's a skylight window where you can see the stars right from your bed. You will never see more stars anywhere else. Like I said, it's truly a gem BUT the mosquitoes are certainly terrible.

Hi Joseph, happy the house was good for you. As in all houses in Moorea and in French Polynesia, mosquitoes are presents and depending on the weather. Mosquitoes repellent is recommended in French Polynesia. Charly

Charly was an amazing host. We highly recommend his guest house as a great value for the price. We enjoyed the split level nature of the guest house with two beds upstairs. There was not an air conditioner but we were able to take the fan upstairs. We recommend filling it with water and using the mist setting for max effect. Charly had taken special care to decorate the guest house, making it into an artsy yet homey environment. We do not speak much French, but Charly's English was perfect. We recommend using his kayaks out in the lagoon and using his snorkel gear. The free washing machine also came in great handy in the mid point of our stay in French Polynesia. I ended up loving the indoor/outdoor kitchen area, and the kitchen was well stocked allowing us to cook most meals while at Charly's place. We recommend the Champion supermarket on the east side of the island to get groceries. Charly was able to hook us up with his friend's scooter, which allowed us to fully explore the island (it would be tough to be in this more remote location in Moorea without a scooter or car). Highly recommended overall.

Had an enjoyable stay at Charly's place in Moorea. Charly was an informative and attentive host. He gave us a good insight of what activities to try on the island and places to eat. We had some initial difficulty in finding his place, but we got there eventually. Make sure you have his contact details handy in case you have any issues in finding his place too. The place has its own carport, so you can park your car there. The house is clean and comfortable; and equipped with a large fridge, gas oven and microwave - so we were able to easily make our own cooked meals. Charly also lent us his snorkelling gear and offered us the use of his kayaks. The beach near the property is quite rocky and not as pretty as; but you can easily launch off from there for a kayaking adventure. We were also able to use his washing machine; which after 2 weeks of travelling was a much-needed opportunity. Overall, we enjoyed staying at Charly's and his place was a good base for our Moorea travels. Tip: Would recommend that you get a scooter or a car to give you the freedom of exploring the island. Buses are not as reliable and as frequent.

Our host was very communicative and even though we arrived an hour earlier than anticipated, there was a neighbour nearby who let us in and showed us around. The listing was just as in the picture, and very nicely appointed with all the basics. We were seeking a quiet space away from the "crowds" (ie., we didn't want to stay in a resort), and so this was perfect. It was made to feel like our home, and the neighborhood felt like a community which we were made to feel part of. I think my most delightful memory will be of the occasions when we would reheat food in the microwave and it would "ding" to tell me it was ready, Charly's dog Wi-Fi would be at our door three seconds later, wondering what was for dinner. Merci beaucoup pour en tres bonne semaine.

We loved to stay at your place as it was close to everything we desired and the house was lovely and open and felt safe and loved having wifi around too - you were both very helpful and accomodating - we would stay again

Charly was kind and helpful. He let our family do our own thing but was right next door if we needed him. The bungalow has a wonderful art deco feel and is absolutely charming. The Wi-fi was fast and the furniture was comfortable. The kitchen area is really a closed-in deck so it wasn't as formal as I expected. The private beach is very close to other homes and there's only about 20 ft of sand between their fences and the water so we felt a little awkward. Also, the water is not foot friendly but the snorkeling and kayaking are fantastic. The dirt road leading to the house was pretty rough (big holes) but we were there during some big rains. Overall our experience was good and we had a lovely bbq with freshly caught tuna on our last night there. Big thanks to Charly for hosting us while we enjoyed Moorea. It is the very best island to visit in my opinion.

Charly and Olivier were the most wonderful hosts. they provided amazing advise, including a free trekking tour that we loved! they were charming and always available. the apartment is beautifully decorated in a modern style, and every comfort is provided. it is in the South of the island, so renting a car or a scooter is a must.
