Stay in this newly beautifully renovated townhouse in Central Phoenix. I'm calling it subtle Mexican chic. The newly carpeted guest bedrooms are upstairs with an outside private balcony and privacy door at the top of the stairway. The front bedroom has a queen bed and the back has a full bed. Both bedrooms have walk in closets. The double bed room has 2 feet of hang up clothes space and the rest is used for storage. If it's a long term stay you may want the front bedroom as the closet is empty except for extra blankets and pillows. There is a bathroom upstairs, with a nice bright skylight, which is private or shared if there are two guests. The pictures do not reflect the new pottery barn style vanity upstairs bath. Clean linens and bath towels are available in this bathroom. There is a carport space for you

Guests may have access to the rest of the house, except for the downstairs bedroom. The house has beautiful tile, a new kitchen, a downstairs bathroom and french doors. The pictures do not reflect the new patio cover that replaced the screened in porch. Feel free to make coffee, prepare a meal, watch television int he living room, or enjoy the outdoor patio, including the grill and outside dining area. You can bring food into the house to prepare a meal, or I can make meals at a nominal fee. It will prevent me from eating cereal for dinner! Smoking is allowed outside.

The neighborhood is safe, friendly, and quiet. The salt water pools are usually warm enough to swim in from May - October. Within one mile of the house are Costco, Target, Walmart, a public library, a small public golf course, a park, YMCA, grocery store, shopping mall and restaurants. I-17 is a about a mile west of the house and there is a bus stop 1 block away. Downtown Phoenix is 7 minutes away.

It is easy to get to this house on the light rail from the airport. A free shuttle takes you to the light rail from the airport and the light rail is walking distance to my house. I am also available for pick ups and returns to the airport for a $10 each way fee. I can also arrange a airport shuttle for you if you need one. The light rail runs to downtown Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa.

I am an active, semi-retired teacher. The cat is friendly, declawed, and neutered. He is an indoor/outdoor cat and friendly but not invasive. Your private or social behavior will both be respected by me. I will be in and out of the house but you will be able to reach me by telephone if you have any questions.

I have new carpeting in the bedrooms so I would like you to only have water in the bedrooms. The kitchen, dining room, screened in porch, patio, and balcony are good places to sit and enjoy a meal.

Small children, under your control, are fine and will be appreciated.

I will change and wash sheets when you leave. If you're staying awhile, just strip the beds and I'll wash the sheets and let you remake the bed. I will also launder your towels as needed. You may use the washer and dryer as needed for your personal laundry.

My stay at Darlene's was interesting and enjoyable. She is more than willing to assist her guests in anyway she can. Her place is close to public transportation and shopping, restaurants. Easy to access other areas of downtown Phoenix from the Light Rail.

Darlene is a great person and a wonderful host, it worths going to Phoenix just to get to know such a nice, dynamic, full of life and caring person. She has been of amazing help and support to me at all the moments. She made me feel at home, and I would have loved to stay longer. She lives in a very nice neighbourhood, better than anything you can find in Phoenix. I can write pages about my experience with her, in her nice house, but I prefer keeping them for my souvenirs.

Our hostess was the best. Her home is tastefully decorated and the upper level provided us with privacy. Darlene is a really Hip lady with lots of tips and fun ideas for the area. We enjoyed her homemade muffins and fresh coffee in the morning. Thanks so much Darlene for welcoming us in to your lovely home. We enjoyed our short stay.

Our few days with Darlene were more than delightful, we had long hours of talking about various topics and sometimes we even forgot that we planned to go out and do things in Phoenix. Darlene is always caring and would probably do almost everything for her guests so that they feel at home instantly. It was so great that we "forgot" a pair of shoes on purpose to have a reason to come back :)

Darlene was a wonderful host. Her home is bright and comfortable, and in a convenient location. Darlene is an interesting person who loved to share stories with us. While staying there, we had an added bonus - her sister and brother-in-law also stayed, and we enjoyed the experience. I would stay there againa and recommend her.

I arrived in an unfamiliar city after a long, 12+ hour drive, late for a scheduled event. I only knew the address I needed to be at, but Darlene gave me helpful directions and printed me a map to where I needed to go. She also had the bathroom well stocked with towels so I could take a (much needed) quick shower before heading out again. My stay in Phoenix was brief and filled with activities, but I enjoyed chatting with Darlene and getting some advice about sights to see.
