A beautiful, warm and clean apartment nestled between the Hudson River on the west, historic Harlem, southeast, Sugar Hill, east, Washington Heights, north, and Columbia University, south, in our culturally diverse neighborhood of Hamilton Heights.

The apartment is located on one of the most beautiful blocks in NYC. It is on the street level which makes it easy for people with stair concerns. It is decorated with comfort and style in mind. The bedrooms are super quiet and have the most comfortable queen size and twin size beds (a daybed and trundle).

The apartment is a large 2 bedroom/2 bath duplex completely separate with its own private entrance and with access to the serene backyard garden. There are 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, and 1 airbed, free WiFi, towels, sheets, pillows, iron and board, hairdryer, bathrobes, and slippers. One bathroom has a jacuzzi. The bedrooms have an air conditioner and a TV for dvds. (Small library provided). Sorry, no TV service.

The kitchen is fully equipped with good knives, cutting board, pots and pans, toaster oven, coffee maker, coffee grinder, dishes, glasses, and silverware. It is freshly stocked on the first day of your stay with baked goods, jams, fruit (from Urban Organics), juice, cereal, plus staples like oil and vinegar, silk, coffee and tea.

The neighborhood has plenty of restaurants like Dinosaur BBQ, Covo, and Tonalli, grocery stores (Fairway), drug stores (Rite Aid), Bikram Yoga (Hot), and shopping. The Riverbank State Park is just around the corner offering 2 swimming pools, a running track, a skating rink, restaurant, concerts, and more.

The 1 train is two blocks away, the A/C/B and D trains only five blocks away. The subway ride to Times Square is about 15 minutes. Street parking is available.

We booked this holiday home based on Karen's photos and on the excellent reviews from former guests. THEY DID NOT LIE!! Now I'm faced with the challenge of trying to express my enthusiasm for this wonderful unit and generous host in a way that hasn't been written many times already. Can't be done: this is just one more rave review. The accommodation is spacious, stylishly comfortable, very well equipped, and on a charming, quiet street. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows, beautifully thick towels. The subway is less than 5 minutes walk away, taking us in no time and without any changes to the major tourist areas: Lincoln Centre, Columbus Circle, Times Square, Chelsea, and right on down the island of Manhattan to take a free ride on the Staten Island Ferry. A slightly longer walk took us to a subway station on the A&C line for other destinations. Absolutely everyone we met, without exception, whether on the local streets, the subway or in the stores was helpful and friendly. As country bumpkins, we had been expecting to feel anxious on the streets at night, but the area felt safe and comfortable. The nearby Riverside Park was only five minutes away and was a wonderful place to get fresh air, exercise and views of the stately Hudson River. Can't tell you anything about the local restaurants because we chose to eat "at home" when we spent the evening in Hamilton Heights. The kitchen was so well equipped, and it was so relaxing just to hang out in the condo after a long day of sightseeing. Considering all the people to whom we will be recommending this unit, I hope Karen won't be too booked up in the future to accommodate us again, when we return to NYC.

Karen. Thank you for letting your apartment to us, it was home from home. It was warm and cosy with lots of little extra touches that made it homely. It was very convenient for getting about it New York, with the Metro only a few minutes walk away. We all cant wait to come back again. Would defiantly recommend this to all of our friends. Apartment was amazing - everything was provided and more... Breakfast food in the fridge, tea and coffee, comfy beds - the place is essentially like a boutique hotel! Very handy location too with the "1" subway line about 3 min walk away and a 15min subway ride from downtown.

Beautiful experience!! We spend my mother's & sister birthday in a unique and detailed oriented space. Very clean, accommodating, great location and secure. From the towels, to the soap to the artwork everything was perfect! If I go to the city again, will go straight to Karen's apt. My family loved it. My husband really enjoyed it and my kids had fun! We were in NYC for the marathon and wanted to find a place that was somewhat quiet. This apartment was the perfect place. We were very impressed with everything about this place. It was VERY convenient to the subway. It was EXTREMELY clean. Everything we needed was available in the apartment, including kitchen staple items. We were 2 couples traveling together and the layout of the apartment provided great privacy. If this place is available the next time we visit the city, we will book again.

Karen was great, the house was as great as the description and really close to the subway, so you can go anywhere from there. Everything was is pristine shape, and its been great. I'd definitely go back again.

Outstanding stay ! If there were 6 stars, Karen's space would deserve it - her very large, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean space. Close to all transportation and basic food shopping.
