Shaver Lake Log Cabin in the Sierra

  Sue's cabin was great! It was exactly what we were looking for as a group of seven (although it would have been perfect for a smaller group too). There is an enormous kitchen with stools and a counter facing the cook, so you can eat, talk, and hang out there endlessly; the wood stove/fireplace filled the house with warmth and provided a wonderful spot to curl up by; and having a jacuzzi was the icing on the cake. Sue was so sweet and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a place to hunker down in in the woods!

  I took a large group of 12 to Shaver Haven for the weekend and Sue and Roland really went above and beyond! The hospitality started before we even arrived. Let me explain. The directions were so detailed and hilarious, it felt like we were going on a treasure hunt! They literally listed all the great pit stops (including bathroom quality) along the way. We were provided with a full list of amenities AND How-to instructions for almost every question imaginable. Talk about well prepared hosts. They were fantastic to work with and super friendly. Everyone fell in love with the cabin when we got there. When we walked into the living room, there was many an "ooh" and "aah". Shaver Haven was amazingly well-stocked, with all sorts of kitchen gadgets! From cooking up cheesecake to stew, it was almost like "The Room of Requirement" in Harry Potter. Just think "hmm, I need a [fill in the blank]" and bam, it's there in the cabinet. Oh, and HOT TUB! We used it every single day we were there. :) A perfectly kept 104 degree hot tub on a crisp winter night? Ahhh, heaven.

  A wonderful home in a great setting! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thanks in part to extremely helpful and courteous hosts. The stores in Shave Lake are a little pricy due to its away-from-it-all setting, so bring a few basics with you if you are able to plan ahead, but either way, it won't spoil your stay at a comfortable and very well appointed home.

  The Shaver Lake Cabin is absolutely amazing property with everything you need for an amazing kickback time in the sierra nevadas.. We went on long hikes.. chilled by the lake and even ventured out to Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks.. The house was great for cooking, grilling, sun bathing, fire placing, hot tubbing and much more.. Susan and her husband were great hosts and were there for us every step of the way.. If you dont book this house you are missing out!!
