  Mei Lin and her family are gracious hosts. I had a fairly rough schedule of work meetings, and I found her home a haven to relax comfortably; there are beautiful outdoor gardens and a nice library in which to do work or relax. Also, it was fantastic to be only a 5-7 minute walk to CalTrain and University Avenue. I would love to come back and prefer Mei Lin's home to many hotel options in the area.

  It was great stay! It's the best place to enjoy Silicon Valley! The owner is very nice, kind, supporting. The place is very comfortable and pleasant. I was really impressed when found in my room a lot of computer science books and board on the wall to draw with markers. I was participating in hackathon in Palo Alto, so such convinient details shows how owner takes care about her guests!

Location, location, location. short walks from Trader Joes or Whole Foods, stones throw from other stores. 5 minute walk to Stanford gate and bus service. 2. Study - quiet locations to find inspiration and hit the books. 3. The Economist and New York Times on the breakfast table.

  Mei Lin and Ross are lovely and very helpful hosts, I enjoyed staying at their house very much. Their place is very close to Stanford, it is possible to bike or walk to the campus. And, there is a piano in the house!

  For four days I stayed in the Inn of Mei Linn and from the moment I entered the house I liked the atmosphere. The highlights were the joyful musical moments in the evenings: Mei Lin and the Scottisch visiting scholar playing the piano and Ross playing the jazzy clarinet.

  Mei Lin's house is lovely, has a wonderful garden and the location is great. It is close walking distance to Stanford and all the amenities of downtown Palo Alto which is very practical for someone who doesn't have a car (like me!). A cleaning lady also comes in twice a week to keep all the shared areas clean. Mei Lin and her family are wonderful hosts. They are very friendly and were also very helpful in orienting me with regard to how to get around town and where to find things. I highly recommend staying here!

   Mei Lin is a wonderful hostess, with a delightful family. Their location is amazing. For $4.75 you get from either San Jose or San Francisco airports to within 6/10 of a mile of Mei Lin's home. Stanford and the downtown are adjacent to that train station, so all is close. She has three small guest rooms with a shared bathroom for them; a large family room with large screen TV, a medium-large work table, and a printer to share; and a small refrigerator in the laundry room for guests to share. These are all in the basement, but this is Palo Alto and it doesn't feel or smell damp. You are welcome to come up and make yourself coffee or tea and hang in the kitchen/dining area, to use the patio and lovely fenced-in yard with gardens out back, and to borrow a bicycle, so long as you bring a lock!* The town is incredibly bicycle friendly, with separate paths some places, clearly marked lanes other places, and polite motorists on the residential roads that are quieter and don't have a dedicated lane. They are also laid back about using bikes on sidewalks, with the expectation that we will yield to pedestrians. All is pretty well marked, which is easier in a town with no snow. ; ) The atmosphere is very friendly, and staying with such interesting people - Mei Lin's family and her guests - is far more rewarding than staying in a hotel where interesting people are around but you don't generally connect. I wouldn't want someone to make assumptions about what Mei Lin could do to help your stay, but she offered me two much-appreciated rides. All in all, she made my stay marvelous! *Bicyclists note: These are the kind of bikes that many people in Palo Alto ride around town as transportation or recreation, but not racing or serious fitness, and not in lycra, as some seats have tears that could snag. The bikes have normal pedals without cages. If you are a size that fits one of the bikes available to use (I am 5'7", and one with an adjustable quick-release stem for the saddle worked great for me), it is incredibly easy to not worry about having to get back before your rental is due back at the shop, in addition to the $ savings. Some of the bikes have not been used in a long time, so tires may be squishy. They may not have a portable pump for the bike they lend you, and no patch kit, etc., so you may want to see if you can figure out in advance what to bring from home. It was perfect for me with my limited "down" time, to cruise around Stanford by bike Saturday AM and to bike to church Sunday.

  Mei Lin and Ross are great hosts, they kindly accommodated us at their place while our research visit at Stanford University. We arrived at Palo Alto with my spouse and our little baby, and Mei Lin and Ross were incredibly helpful to make our stay a success. The house is very comfortable, ideally located in 5 mins walk from Caltrain and Marguerite shuttle stop. Everything you need is available in the house, street parking is free but crowded during office hours. You'll have access to the kitchen but there's also a Whole Foods supermarket within 5 mins walk with healthy, and reasonably prized all day buffet which is a great option if you want to save time on cooking. It was also great to have the opportunity to meet other Stanford visitors staying at the house. Highly recommended for short or longer stays.

  Mei Lin was an absolutely amazing host. In her spacious house, she has created a warm, cozy, peaceful and meditative environment that was exactly what I needed. The house was completely clean and we even witnessed the housekeepers two times in our 3 day stay. Bathroom and living area was great and well kept. The house is in a perfect location; in fact, we walked everyday to Stanford and downtown Palo Alto where there is an abundance of great restaurants. Mei Lin is an experienced AirBnB host, it is obvious because there is just nothing that I could complain about and everything to praise. She welcomed us in her house with open arms and I will have no question on looking up her availability next time I am in Palo Alto.

I brought my own bike lock and was able to borrow a bike to go back and forth to Stanford, which was really helpful.
