Interaction with guests
During your stay I won't always be at home but am very happy to assist you with anything you want to do here. I would be delighted to accompany you to sight seeing places, when I am available. If preferred, I can source for you a private tour driver at competitive rate! I provide Continental breakfast on request, sometimes you have to help yourself from a breakfast goodie tray in fridge!
A Turkish style restaurant open till late is 300m, and a grocery shop and newsagent is a 2 minute walk from the home.
Location suits cyclists as very flat area and great for walkers. Interesting paths within short bus reach (Lycian Way, Ovacik / old Kayaköy village / Uzumlu and ancient Kadyanda). Country routes and beaches within 30 minutes walk.
I love Fethiye - there are lots of great things to do around and within easy reach. Take a dolmus bus and visit the beautiful Oludeniz beach resort and if you wish go tandem paragliding with a reputable company reachable in 40 mins. You can enjoy sailing, sunbathing, swimming, windsurfing, fishing trips, sightseeing, yoga retreats, cookery courses in this region. A morel mushroom festival is held every late April in the village of Yesiluzumlu.
Fethiye is still uncommercialised with no high-rise buildings obscuring the lovely view across its bay. İt has a good balance of local Turks, and tourists; giving it a real, cultural and friendly feel and makes an excellent choice for visitors. Locals work in the community, and come from nearby villages with their organic produce for the large Tuesday market. There is some fishing boat trade and you can buy daily catches from the interesting fish bazaar and have the restaurants cook the fish for you.
I recommend you take a gulet cruise in the beautiful azure bays whilst here and you can sail to the 12 islands and bays, a relaxing day with a grill lunch which you won't forget.
Local (dolmus) bus stop is 2 minute walk with buses to Fethiye down-town, or a short walk away to the bus stop for buses to Calis resort and beach. Convenient for Pamukkale / Kamil Koc Intercity Coach branch offices. You can embark here if your inbound route goes this side Fethiye or book onward tickets for major cities. There is ample free parking by the property.
Bicycle hire can be arranged - within a 20 minute walk to pick-up.
From the airport there's no public transport. You can book a private pick up car for around 45 Euros but if you are on budget then please take (a) a MUTTAS shuttle bus (every hour or so), or (b) a Havas shuttle bus - around 8 a day timed with THY domestic incoming flights.
Please disembark airport shuttle buses at Gunlukbasi terminal near ''Kamil Koc'' coach firm's office. Cross to other side of street. Apartment is ten minutes walk east from there.
If you arrive at Otogar Fethiye, there is no need to ask their personnel - just read ''Hosts Directions'' section to get to my home - you just catch a local dolmus or you take a taxi.

A fairly outgoing person, I like outdoors and nature, natural scenery and the coastline, as well as ancient cities around Fethiye area. I am familiar with local area and other regions of Turkey, and as an ex-resort representative know the things you should not miss here. I enjoy listening to global music, cooking global recipes and enjoying the simple things in life. I practice meditation / tai chi arts. If you like a long trek, I can team you up with our local walking group, which I participate in, depending on their program. I'm also a volunteer contributor to a popular global travel website and part-time English teacher.
My ideal day is strolling in the pine forests, my ideal evening is venturing out to a local turkish music bar and listening to traditional music, whilst sipping the national drink and perhaps trying a few steps out with the locals!
There's nothing to tire you in this country with so much to do and see, and you can do a lot here on a budget too.
What can't I live without?
-MP3 -bicycle -rucksack -candles -wet wipes -a good book to read!
