- Room #4 is a tree-top room on the second floor of the building, with thatched roof and a small balcony overviewing the street. The room has 2 full-size beds -

A DIFFERENT CONCEPT IN LODGING:
- No luxury. Rustic bungalows / huts (palapas) and rooms with a touch of sophistication that comes from the unique and personal decoration of each room. Only 8 cabins/palapas (bungalows) give a cozy ambiance and friendly atmosphere. Some rooms come a thatched roof -

A VERY CONVENIENT LOCATION:
- You are downtown Puerto Morelos, the town, two blocks from the main square on the West side of Highway MX307; however you will wake up to the multiple songs of the birds and the roosters.
- Less than five minute drive to the beach (1.8 miles). We rent bicycles (at extra cost) so that the beach appears even closer.
- Easy access to cheap public transportation (minibus or taxis). The first class long range bus station (ADO) is 3 blocks away, within walking distance.
- Less than 8 minutes drive (5.5 miles) to the newly open convention center of CancunMesse.
- Half way between Cancun and Playa del Carmen; this is the perfect location to explore the Riviera Maya (25 minutes to the airport of Cancun, 35 minutes to Cancun, 30 minutes to Playa del Carmen, 1h45 minutes to Tulum, 4 hours to Chichen-itza).
- In the heart of the local population: this means that you can find plenty of affordable and tasty small restaurants and eateries within 2 or 3 blocks around the property. Convenient stores, mini-market stores and also fruits and vegetables stands are nearby: get a quart of freshly squeezed juice for less than MX$15.00 Pesos -

  • The guest houses at Casitas Kinsol are wonderful, rustic, little cabins in the "Colonia" of Puerto Moreles (the east side of the town away from the ocean). The accommodations are comfortable and nice reprieve from the overdone tourist hotels. Staying in the "Colonia" has its perks--like some of the best food we ate on our trip to the Cancun region, e.g. a delicious seafood cocteleria, the carnitas stand, and my favorite--fried bananas with cinnamon churros from the street vendors, all for a fraction of the cost of the restaurants on the coast-side of the region. Alan and Christine were very helpful and accommodating--I only wish we were able to stay longer. Things to know: there are more mosquitoes in the eastern areas; and the Casitas Kinsol are in a neighborhood with people and lives, and are not as quiet as some other places. Bring bug spray and ear plugs (if you're a light sleeper).

  • The casita was everything I expected it to be. I had done my research, read its description, looked at all of the pictures, and read dozens of reviews by former guests. I have vacationed in Mexico fo rthe past 6 years and have always stayed in the smaller hotels, preferring them to the larger resorts. This time around I chose the Casita because I was going with my "children", (they are in their 20's), and I wanted them to experience the "real" thing albeit in a comfortable, clean and safe place. Furthermore, my intention was to use the cCasita as our base and venture from there to Cozumel, Akumal, And Player. As I have said, my expectations were met, and I love the creativity and artfulness that Christine has put into her place. This all said, I feel I must inform potential guests that my daughter and fiancé experienced the plight of bed bug bites. Andrew, in particular, woke up to dozens of bites on his hands, arms and legs. Upon telling Christine, she responded that we were in the jungle and bug bites are common, that they were possibly mosquito bites. We are from Maine, we are more than well aware of mosquito bites, furthermore, Andrew researched the bed bug and the bites that he and eliza had were of those depicted in the pictures. Christine said she would fumigate our room while we were gone, what she should have done was to throw away the mattress in that room (number 4 loft). Upon returning to the casita later in the week, the kids were intent on not staying there at all. Although I did not ask for any money back, ii had paid over $400 for a two night stay. Hopefully she will use the $ to buy a new mattress, there is evidence of bed bugs all over it. I feel I would be remiss in not writing this as bed bugs are a serious issue.

  • This was a very cute little place, with local flare. The owners were super helpful and we followed their advice on many suggestions and had a great time. They also had a huge suggestion list which was very helpful. There were some aspects that come with the area that you have to be prepared for: lots of stray dogs and mosquitos - this is nothing that the owners can influence though but you should be ready for it ;-) Overall I was glad to stay at the place. I would suggest to go to more touristic areas - the downtown beach square is super nice place to start!

  • We enjoyed our stay at Casitas Kinsol. My one complaint is that our room was really close to the road and that was noisy and smelled like fumes at times. It's a beautiful place overall though and we really enjoyed the kitchen facility and common areas. Had trouble with our shower at first but the owner fixed it pretty quickly.

  • Such a great little place. I only got to stay one night, but Christine and Alain were very friendly and gave us a great tip for dinner at a little seafood place down the street that was probably the best meal during my entire stay, and one of the least expensive. The room was interesting, comfortable and quite large. Puerto Morelos was a taste of a more authentic Mexico that I didn' t get after heading on to Playa del Carmen and i'm glad that I got the chance to see it.

  • Christine and her family were lovely to us. The place was charming and the write up and photos detailed the experience to a tee! Highly recommended.

  • Awesome! Probably the BEST room I`ve ever stayed at. The beach is Pto. Morelos is beautiful and so many exciting things to do around. Allan, Christine and their doggies - the best hosts! Gracias por una Navidad diferente y hermosa! :D

One (out of atleast 8) places we stayed while in Mexico and the best (a tie with Aerolito in Tulum!) Arrived to Cancun on a late eve flight and this easy to find house just 20-25 mins drive from airport was one of the most charming and well decorated places in Mexico. The treehouse style bungalow and wooden cabins among the foliage of the courtyard reminded me much of Southeast Asia and my many travel to Thailand. I felt very at home and it was wonderful waking up to the sound of birds and geikos. The room was wonderful and the hosts went abopve and beyond in information for our travel on the road and food options. The only cons: That we didn't stay longer. Only booked for one night - so we could start a 15 day road trip threw Mexico and it would have been nice to experience more of Puerto Morelos, its excellent tacos, and chill vibe. Coming from New York, i landed running to the next sites realizing in the end it was one of the best places to stay longer from the beginning to set a wonderful tone for the perfect vacation. The only other con is there was no milk for coffee ;) Most other Airbnbs include some form or breakfast or good coffee, but these were minimal. Tea and water are easiest to have. So on first arrival we just went around the corner for such needs in the am:)

  • Our experience at Casitas Kinsol was great. The place is very tasteful and comfortable. It is easy to get to the center square of Puerto Morales and it also is very close to small business owned by local families. Out host, Alain, was always ready to answer any questions and had great suggestions of things to do in the area. We also really appreciated his effort to let us know how to support local community. We'll definitely come back if we are in the area.
