A Cabin in a Loft in Brooklyn

The apartment was every good as the photos looked. The experience of staying in was even better. Terri was a fantastic host. Her design aesthetics were lovely and pretty evident in everything in the studio. Possibly my best stay in NYC in all my trips there, which is a lot.

The experience in Terri house was really AMAZING! Terri's loft is a magic place! I spent 8 days in her house with my father and it was great! I also found the accommodations so comfortable that it was hard to get out of the cabin each day! Terri is a wonderful hostess and very accommodating, she has a great NY map where she recommends her favorite restaurants and bar. Well-equipped, comfortable, charming, cozy, and tasteful, Terri made our week in New York not just fun, but utterly memorable!

I had a F A N T A S T I C stay at the cabin in the loft.. Terri's loft is a very inspiring place and she is a great hostess and person, who I hope to keep contact with. I felt immediately at home when arriving at the loft, and Terri was so sweet (and Boo / the cat is a very sweet cat). She gave me a lot of info about the neighborhood and a map of nice places to eat and drink in NYC. The loft is in the middle of a very interesting, hip + old industrial area and the subway station Morgan Ave is just a few steps from the street door, so it is very easy, fast and save to go to Manhattan or Williamsburg. I miss the place a lot, especially the beautiful daylight and sunrises from the cabin, and there is a nice rooftop too. I would definitely recommend a stay at the cabin, and I really hope that it is available next time I'm in town...

Staying with Terri was a real pleasure. She was very helpful in providing tips with regards to places to see and food to eat! The apartment is in an excellent location, with great proximity to subway lines, and lots of good restaurants and cafes! The apartment is very warm - a nice retreat from New York's cold winter. It's also a great space if you want to just stay inside and relax. Terri invited us to join her for a lovely dinner party on new years eve - she went above and beyond what was expected of her to make us feel welcome. I highly recommend staying here to ensure that you maximize on your New York experience!

A superb space in a superb location, with great recommendations for the local area from Terri! I loved the feel of this part of Brooklyn - "nice industrial" as Terri calls or young, artistic and up and coming as I thought. Plus, the connection to Manhatten is great. I was very comfortable chez Terri, merci et à bientôt!

Absolute candy of architecture experience! One feels homey instantly- the wood, whole composition of cabins and the rest of furniture, high ceiling and off course the sweetest cat on earth... All credits go to Terri- not to forget to mention she's a great host. Literally 15 steps from metro exit and near local's special- Roberta's pizza place.

Terri was amazing. She looked after us beautifully, the flat was amazing and it was within a few stops of Williamsburg, a very cool part of town. We had a lovely, lovely time here.

We stayed as a couple in Terri's cabin for four nights. The first two days Terri was not around, but had organized everything for us. A friend gave us the keys and had good tipps for bars and galleries in the neighbourhood. The loft is part of a restored industrial building where lots of artists and creative people seem to live.Terri was a helpful and friendly host, we enjoyed to stay at her place.

We loved our stay. Everything was amazingly clean and perfectly organized. We didn't meet Terry in person, but through her nice messages and way of living you 'feel Terry'. She's great, the ideal host. The beautiful stylish and enormous loft is located in an interesting industrial area and 10 steps away from the L station. Once back in NY, we definitively want to stay in our Cabin...

Terri's loft was otherworldly! Being from Sweden (Irene) and visiting New York, I always seek inspiration. I usually get my daily dose trough food, visual arts, music and fashion, but this time I got lucky and found it in a loft in Brooklyn. Urban life has never seemed so enticing. Robbie and I had a wonderful time and felt right at home. Thank you, Terri.

Terri's loft is the coolest living space I've ever had the pleasure to stay in! It's beautifully designed and immaculately presented. It feels modern and chic at the same time as being natural and cozy. The cabins are great to sleep in and the rest of the space is great for hanging out, listening to music or having dinner. Terri was also an amazing host - so kind and amazingly knowledgeable about Bushwick, Brooklyn and Manhattan - she even gave us a map of all her favourite places to eat and drink (those of which we tried were amazing). Bushwick itself is also a brilliant place - don't be fooled by the slightly bleak scenery when you exit the metro - there are heaps of cool places to be uncovered. I highly recommend staying with Terri if you can - I know where I am going to stay next time I'm in the city! J

there is no other place i would want to stay in other than in the cabins in a loft whenever i visit newyork (and terri!). in fact, there is no other person i would want to stay with other than terri (cos she's so great and dear to me). i have seen the loft both before and after the creative construction, and i am amazed at how beautiful (and functional!) the space has become. the neighborhood the loft is in is also changing, and i have fallen in love with many of these establishments. we met as undergrads at brown and continued to be very close in both our graduate and post-graduate years. terri is my favorite, and it is a privilege for me to have met her and to experience her creativity in tangible form.

Terri is fantastic: as a person, friend, designer, and host. We met as undergrads at Brown and I recently lived in the cabin this past summer. The loft is incredible and the spaces she has created within them have the capacity to transport you to another place. There's space to be alone and contemplative, but also plenty of available space to socialize. Terri is thoughtful and respectful, her creativity is absolutely inspiring, and her pizzas are to die for.

Terri C. is friendly, talented, knowledgeable and one of the coolest, most interesting people I've ever met. Every conversation I've had with her has been an inspiration. She knows tons of fun stuff to do in NYC, and her cabin in a loft idea made me wish I lived in her place. Maybe I'll rent it just for the fun of it. Location-wise, Terri's place is in a hotbed neighborhood for contemporary art and culture. The underground is quite ripe there. Around the corner is the L-train, which is a mainline directly to Manhattan. She plays a mean ukelele and has culinary chops such as creative pizza!

Terri and I have been friends since meeting at Columbia University in 2005 for graduate school in architecture. She is an outstanding designer with a passion for creating unique spaces that enrich our experience of everyday life. The Cabins in a Loft are a great expression of her design and anyone who is lucky enough to enjoy them will experience a piece of what makes this city so vibrant with talented and wonderful people!

I lived in this loft for about a year, and I can testify to it being a great place and to Terri being a great host (well, in my case she was my roommate, but she hosted quite a bit). First of all, the cabins are really great. They're great to hole up in – to sleep, to read. And the rest of the loft has so much light! The big table is great for people who love to sit and eat or drink and hang out. The loft's furnishings are all really new, and work well, and it feels pretty amazing every time you enter off of the street from Bushwick to the fact that you're in a completely different environment. Terri is great, too: a really fun conversationalist, interested in everything, and super friendly. She'll definitely host you, whether it's with her amazing cooking or just wanting to find out about you, but she also is obviously respectful of personal space. She's done an enormous amount of work to privatize the loft so you can feel like you have a private spot in this really open, shared space. The fact that those two experiences can coexist there as well as they do is pretty amazing, and testament both to Terri's skills as an architect and to the fact that you'll be able to feel in good company and alone during your stay. Highly recommended.

Terri is one of my absolute best friends and has an uncanny sense of design. I have known her for 7 years and she continues to inspire and impress me. Her home is unique to say the least and truly beautiful. I have spent many nights there cooking pizza and watching movies projected onto her large loft walls. And did I mention the cozy cabin and tree house that she designed and built? Rather than simply building conventional rooms into what would otherwise be an open loft, Terri created worlds within her home that recall your fondest childhood dreams. Terri is utterly wonderful and her home reflects that many times over!
