This experience went way beyond expectations. We would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone, and we'd be back tomorrow if we could swing it. I loved the surrounding land, the breakfasts were simply amazing, and the atmosphere Pat creates enabled me to relax. I'd go out of my way to stay here - we made a lucky choice and won't forget our 3 day stay.
What everybody is saying about Pat's place is absolutely true - its amazing!! Pat is the most generous lady and we had a wonderful time staying here! We only stayed for one night, but she fired up the wood fire oven when we got there and we made homemade pizza! The room was comfy and spacious, with cable tv and wireless internet. Even though Pat had to work early the next morning, she still made sure to make homemade scones and a full breakfast spread was waiting on the table for when we woke up! This place is like the best bed and breakfast you have ever been to, but better (and cheaper)!
Pat is a gracious host. I enjoyed my stay at her home and immediately felt welcomed. Pat was kind enough to share her kitchen with us as my daughter and I baked birthday cake and cookies for her friend at college into the evening hours. Next day, Pat and I baked together creating amazing Morning Glory muffins which we then enjoyed with coffee and conversation. I look forward to returning.
Pat's house is amazing! My husband and I hardly ever sleep well when we're out of the house, but it was so quiet, comfortable, and dark in the room at night that neither of us had any problems getting to sleep. In fact, my husband said it was the best night's sleep he'd had in quite some time! My favorite part, however, was the breakfast. Pat made us scones that were simply to DIE for, plus homemade bread, eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage. We definitely weren't hungry after that :-) Over all, Pat is simply the best host we could have ever asked for. She definitely set the bar pretty darn high for future vacations! Thank you so much, Pat, for an amazing stay!
My friend's 10 year old daughter and I stayed at Pat's home and we had a wonderful experience. Over the years I have stayed at numerous Air B&B places, however Pats was by far the best. I would recommend her home to anyone.
We stayed for just one night, and wished we could have stayed longer. Pat was very friendly and provided everything we needed without our having to ask. There was a fire in the fireplace, the room was clean and cozy, the bed was comfy, and the breakfast was very tasty. Everything the other guests wrote about this place is true. It was our first experience with Airbnb and it will be tough to match it! We highly recommend "Farm House."
My 3-night stay at Farm House was a dream come true, due in large part to the charming and resourceful Pat Hains. Pat, in her role as host disguised as warm-hearted housemother and master chef/baker, was able to provide lovely gluten-free pastries and other treats for those who needed such, as well as more traditional and equally marvelous fare. It was wonderful to wake up mornings to the wafting scents of breakfast evolving in the kitchen and a cherry fire in the living room. I was even provided with a large mirror for my room, for dressing for New Year's Eve, when I asked if one were available! Truly like visiting your favorite aunt or sister's country home. Don't miss a chance to stay here. Note: I would have given it 5 stars if there had been an electric blanket or an equivalent type of bed warmer for a more comfortable getting-in-to-bed experience. Of course only of possible concern during cold weather.
You couldn’t ask for a better host than Pat! My husband, my son, and I were in Washington to visit my brother at Joint Base Lewis McChord. Pat not only made us feel right at home, but extended the welcome to our whole family (Pat: Ben is still beaming about the Nutella).
We had read all the great reviews and arrived hoping for a nice, cozy room and a tasty breakfast the first morning of our stay. What we got was sooo much more. The Hains House turned out to be the perfect home base for a very special family reunion.
Pat went out of her way to delight us every morning with her baking talents. One morning we got fresh-baked scones; another we were treated to cinnamon rolls, fresh baked bread, and homemade pear sauce; yet another we sat next to the fireplace as we enjoyed Belgian waffles with all the fixings…
We had so much fun spending time chatting with Pat and finding out a little about the history of The Hains House, and we especially enjoyed making pizzas in the brick oven.
We chose The Hains House hoping for an affordable place to stay while visiting with family before my brother deployed to Afghanistan. Pat worked her magic and helped us make some absolutely precious family memories.
Thank goodness for Pat and airbnb.com!! I went up to Olympia for training in SRT and had to be up there for 10 days. We were looking for a place that was relaxing and peaceful and we got that staying with Pat and much more. She made the most amazing breads and sweets and shared her vast knowledge and skill as well. Her breakfasts were always yummy and we got to share some amazing meals together too. She fired up her wood burning oven & made pizza for us one night and thank goodness for leftovers! My husband had the munchies late night and it was fantastic reheated.
Staying with Pat is like staying with family you truly like! She's a lovely person and a wonderful host. We miss her! But know that we'll see her soon.
My daughter attended a class in Olympia and I joined her and her husband on the trip. Pat took very good care of us and baked many delicious things for us. Her home and area is very peaceful and beautiful. I look forward to returning to Olympia and staying with Pat again.
I can't say enough good things about Pat and her farm house. While we were only there one short night, I was very sad that we couldn't stay longer. Here's a quick review of all the amazing things: The farm house is tucked away on a gravel road, surrounded by a big beautiful field. You can see cows and horses when you look out of the house! Pat was super accommodating and responsive via email setting up our stay, as well as arranging our arrival time. She greeted us with HUGS AND COOKIES!
The space is very nice. The rooms are private - while you go through the house to get to them - you have your own stair way that opens up to three bedrooms. No one else was staying with Pat at the time - so it felt like we had our own apartment! She left us little toiletries, and water bottles and had the beds made for us nice and cozy. All the rooms were really taken care of, clean, and maintained. Our room had a TV with cable which was so nice to just relax with after a long day of traveling. The house is very quite, and you really feel as if you have your own space. Bathroom is also private for the rooms, and is pristine.
In the morning - we awoke to coffee and PIZZA'S (!!!) home-made by Pat in her brick oven! She wanted to make them for us for dinner, but since we had other plans she obliged to make them for breakfast! (common- we are in our late 20s...this is a dream come true!)
She also sent us on our way with homemade bread and apples and cheese! (This is like, better than visiting my own mothers house.)
Long story short - this place is amazing. Pat really is as friendly and nice as all these other reviews say. It feels like you are staying in a friends home. She is very welcoming and so is the house! Its not a far drive from olympia either!
I would recommend ANYONE to stay in this house.
My only regret is not getting to stay and chat with Pat longer.
