Firstly please note we have TWO en-suite rooms and only one listing therefore if the dates you have in mind appear booked, please always enquire as one room could still be available.
Our house is in the quiet, leafy area of Branksome Park and ideally positioned for those visiting Bournemouth, Westbourne, Poole, Sandbanks, Swanage or beyond. We have two large en-suite bedrooms on the 2nd floor. One has a King size bed, large TV and bath/shower, the other room has twin beds with TV and shower and both of course have WiFi. It is only a 5 minute walk through a lovely chine (see Chineland.com) to the fabulous Poole Bay with its 8 miles of sandy blue flag beaches sheltered by the Isle of Wight to the east and the Purbeck Peninsular to the west. From the beach, you can walk 20 minutes east along the promenade to Bournemouth town centre or the same distance west to Sandbanks, passing the stylish cliff top village of Canford Cliffs on the way. The local village of Westbourne with its eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and pubs is only a short walk away and we also have a nice local pub in an old Edwardian house that serves food lunch times and evenings. The ‘best ride in town’ No 50 bus (open top in summer) stops right outside us on its way from Bournemouth to Swanage and includes a free ride on the Sandbanks chain ferry, however the best way to fully appreciate the area is by car. If you drive 15 minutes east you can be in the heart of the atmospheric New Forest – 15 minutes west and you are at the start of the Jurassic Coast and the West Coast Path. Just a little further to the stunning Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Chesil Beach - then on to Dorchester, (Thomas Hardy country) Lyme Regis and beyond. If you drive North for 20 minutes into the wonderful Dorset countryside you can visit the historic market town of Wimborne Minster (do not miss the chain library in the actual Minster) and a little further to the old Roman town of Blandford Forum. We are truly a location for all seasons and better suited to those seeking a peaceful time and setting. Please read our 'House Rules' before enquiring.

  • Ann and Rick are a very pleasant, friendly and outgoing couple who did everything to make our stay in Poole as stimulating and varied as possible. They were extremely helpful, giving us directions to all the most interesting sights and locations with a tremendous insight into all the local Pubs, Restaurants and walks. The accommodation is modern, clean comfortable and quiet with a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was nourishing and sustaining.

  • Excellent accommodation: beautiful bedroom / en suite and spotlessly clean. The house is elegantly decorated with lots of interesting art work. Ann & Rick were great hosts. Both were very friendy and interesting to talk to. They were also very helpful in suggesting places to visit and things to do which was particularly helpful due to our lack of prior research. Very good breakfasts. Parking is very easy and the location is also good, being only a short walk from the beach. Highly recommended. We hope to return sometime.

  • Dear Ann and Rick- thank you for a fab intro to AIRbnb-ing ! Hospitality at it's best- if that's not too gushing. Your marvellous breakfasts sent me off every day with a spring in my step.

  • Both Ann & Rick were extremely hospitable and went out of their way to always be helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the room was very clean and comfortable. A short walk away from the beach which is nice. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

  • Our stay in Dorset with Ann and Rick was very enjoyable. Our room and the house likewise were spacious, full of light and spotlessly clean. The house is located in a quite and beautiful part of the town, just few minutes walk from the beach. We had our son with us - our hosts were very accommodating and flexible with respect to any necessary arrangements.

  • Thank you to my hosts, for a very warm welcome. The room I stayed in was light, bright and a very comfortable bed with easy en-suite shower room. The house is very hospitable and warm. I discovered this region of Poole to be full of historical and beautiful delights. I was able to visit Studland Bay and Harrys Rocks, Corfe Castle and the exquisite coastline of this area, and would recommend a visit to this lovely house, and enjoy what this region has to offer.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights with Ann and Rick and had a lovely time. The house is in a great location a few minutes walk from the beach. We stayed in the large, very clean, double room. Upon arrival, we were given plenty of useful information on local pubs and restaurants which we put to good use and also tips on good local walks. We hope to head back and stay again soon for more sea air and catch up with Ann and Rick whom are a charming couple.

  • About: We are semi retired contemporary art dealers (Swedish & English) and our house also doubles as our gallery these days. Having previously lived and worked in London, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Sydney and Los Angeles, we fairly recently moved to this wonderful area of the UK’s south coast after closing our London art gallery. We are widely travelled and enjoy meeting other travellers and therefore thought Airbnb would be a fun thing to do.
