Summer is coming up in Amsterdam with lots of festivals, music in the Vondelpark and Amsterdamse Bos and all so near to my house. You are more then welcome to stay and I can offer you one or two small and clean bedrooms (but no breakfast) with a bed (140 x 200) in one room and 2 single beds in the other room in a nice and quiet area of Amsterdam; just 10 minutes from the centre and from the airport and from Station Zuid with free and fast WIFI (20 Mbps). Key provided. Each room can have only 2 persons maximum; if you want to stay with 1 or 2 more please also check the availability of the other room. I am sorry but there is no room for a 3rd bed!

Two listings in the same location so if you want both rooms: please check for availability then also "Cosy and Budget Stay". The 2 rooms are seperately listed.
Or when "Budget and Cosy Stay" is booked and you just need a room for 2 you can also book and enjoy the same comfort for the same price.
The price is per room for 2 persons.

It also perfect for an overnight stay between two flights as the airport is a 10 minutes travel by bus.( Bus 197) and the bus stops in front. Have an overnight bag and leave the luggage at the airport.

Leidseplein is 10 min by bus, bike or tram. And if you come by car it is very near to the A10 (Highway) S108 and 5 mins from WTC/RAI. The room is right between the 2 famous green areas of Amsterdam: Amsterdamse Bos and the Vondelpark. In the summer lots of music and chill-out moments........

When you arrive by train choose Amsterdam Zuid as destination as it is only 10 minutes walking and 5 minutes by bus (15) from my place.

The Olympic Stadion (1 minute) and the Vondelpark (8 min) in Amsterdam; 1 minute from all transportfacilities as (metro)station, trams, buses to the airport (10 minutes). Parking is € 8,00 a day in the P&R garage (2 min). French, English, German and some Spanish and little Hebrew spoken. Bathroom has to be shared.

Terrace on the roof where smoking is allowed. Always at arrival clean sheets and towels. No breakfast included but the kitchen (and fridge) can be used for it.
Supermarket open from 08.00 - 22.00 hours; restaurants on Stadionplein and Olympiaplein. You can use the magnetron/microwave and hairdryer. And I have 2 bikes for rent for € 7,00 a day (together).

Mail me and I will give your more info about parking, public transport or anything else you need to know for spending some fabulous days in Amsterdam/Holland

In case you want a room in July and you do not mind to sleap in house located a bit outside of Amsterdam (in Driemond) and you like a quite and green area please let me know as I can perhaps help you there as well.

We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and only had a very short overnight stay to catch a connecting flight early the next morning. We had the opportunity to talk to Mieke for a few minutes. She was a pleasant and very helpful lady, giving us all the infos and instructions we needed. The location is very convenient to get from and to Schiphol Airport. The room we had was clean and the bed comfortable. Try not to bring big, heavy suitcases as there are a few stairs to climb.

  • Me and my family had stayed at Mieke's house for 2 nights. Mieke was very warm and helpful host and gave us lots of information to move around the city. The house is exactly as described in the listing. The rooms were very neat and clean and nicely decorated. Her house is in walking distance from the metro & tram station. The city center is just 15 min by tram. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Mieke's house and would definetly come back again.

  • Mieke was a wonderful host. She had so much information for us and went well out of her way to be as helpful as she could. She gave us extremely clear directions to arrive at her house from the airport. She was there to meet us and gave us a warm welcome. The room was comfortable and clean. Mieke is truly one of the kindest, most hospitable people we have ever met. She continues to help us and be a great source of information as we have just moved to Amsterdam. She gives a great introduction to Amsterdam and I highly recommend staying with her if give the opportunity!

  • Mieke was a very welcoming host, also spending a lot of time before our trip finding out useful information for us. We stayed during Queen's Day and so we certainly needed the help with the public transport system! Despite being busy she still had time for a chat with us. The bed was comfy and cosy in a typical Amsterdam style house. She also has a very tame and friendly cat :)

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mieke's home! The place was close to a bus stop which provided easy access to the various places of interest in Amsterdam. Mieke provided very clear instructions to get to her place and was very happy to provide any further information you require to get around Amsterdam. The room and bathroom we used were clean. We had a good chat with Mieke over a warm cup of tea in her cosy kitchen. Mieke's cat was also such a darling! Would definitely stay with Mieke again the next time I return to Amsterdam! She definitely made my stay in Amsterdam memorable :)

  • me and my friend were staying at Mieke for 4 nights and i should say that we had amazing time there! the room was really very cosy and clean with a big bed, big mirror and next to the bathroom. there's a big terrace on the same floor where you can enjoy a cup of tea, listening to the birds singing in the yard. the street is very quiet and the whole area is nice (i woke up only once at night because of the perfect sound of the rain outside). and it takes only 40 min walking to the city center through Vondelpark (which was also a perfect place to stroll). Mieke is a wonderful host - she gave us maps of Amsterdam, a guide book and she also managed our trip to Keukenhof and Zaanse Schans (she helped us with combined tickets to museums and buses which turned out to be much cheaper than we've expected!). Mieke is an easy-going and down to earth woman who made our stay very warm! and don't forget about her lovely and friendly, though a bit sly cat, especially when the slices of ham or a glass of milk are not far away from her :)

  • AMAZING! Mieke is an awesome host. Greets you with a nice hot cup of coffee, gives you a tour of the house, proved's you with the key to the house and takes the time to sit down with you to give you an idea of where things are and how to get around Amsterdam. She also has a book waiting for you in your room with EVERYTHING you could possibly need to know about Amsterdam. The house is in an amazing location just 25-30min from the airport and 10-15min tram or bus ride from the centre of Amsterdam. The room is cozy, warm and clean. The bed is everything you want, extremely comfortable. Anne Freak house is a must if you visiting Amsterdam. Just make sure your there early because the line-up is unreal. Cost is only 9 euro per person. Heineken experience is also fantastic. For only 17 euros per person you get a GREAT tour with everything you need to know about the beer, a boat ride, 3 free beers (good size) and a little gift for stopping by.

  • We stayed at Mieke's house just for one night but we wish we would stay more, room was clean and perfect location-easy to find it, easy to get there. Mieke has a lot of useful information about Amsterdam.

  • Mieke is very helpful, giving good information and advice for anyone new to Amsterdam. Her place is very convenient both for the airport and the centre of Amsterdam. Her room was comfortable, bathroom next to it and wifi fast. Will book again!

We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of amsterdam. me and my girlfriend both enjoy travelling and amsterdam is deffinitely one of the few places you could visit again and again. Miekes room is self explained in the title, a great cosy sanctuary just outside of the city with both easy accessibility to and from the airport and to the city centre. We chose to venture on bycicles and although intimidating at first the system in amsterdam is fantastic and we were suprised how drivers percieved bikers, it appears the cyclist gets alot of respect in amsterdam much more so than the UK, The cycling lanes are brilliant making cycling by far the best way of travelling around amsterdam, the only tricky part is the junctions with lots of cars cyclists and trams on the roads, the lights are your best friend on these occurences. We also visited many of the museums on offer, and trained kickboxing being a joint interest of ours. As for Mieke you could not ask for a more welcoming and helpful host. She goes out of her way to aid your trip and it was a pleasure meeting her. We stayed for 9 days so being allowed to use the kitchen was also a big plus (eating out in amsterdam is expensive). We did however dine in amsterdam as well, and had an incredible sushi at sumo. All you can eat $26 and its a fantastic system just order what ever you want off the menu and they bring it to you once your finished order more, deffinitely a recommended culinary experience. We hope to return to Amsterdam and have both said we would stay at Miekes again! She really helped us explore all the aspects we wanted to of amsterdam.
