We were greeted warmly by M and she showed us around the property and explained how to use the wifi etc., and gave us keys. The house is situated up a rough path off a very busy street full of fast food chains, cafes, restaurants and shops and the area is not in the least bit attractive apart from the view across the water to Valletta. If you enjoy comfortable seating to chill out on in the lounge, fresh cotton sheets, comfortable pillows and fluffy towels, then this is not the house for you as it has the opposite of those things unfortunately, but I hope M will address these as it could be so much more appealing and comfortable. The rooftop terrace is surrounded by other buildings and is dirty and bare apart from a few dusty plastic chairs and washing lines, so we didn't use it at all, but it could be made so much more pleasant with a little thought.

The location of the house was great right in the center of restaurants, shops and close to the sea. The building is indeed very old, authentic and historical. Not all the rooms are like its shown in the photos. In the common sitting room there was only one chair which was not good as we were 5 people and in the photos it showed more than 1 chair. There was a problem with the toilet. As we have experienced many stays with Air BnB where the owners would leave water, tea, coffee, extra towels, sheets, cushions, free wifi etc. This one had nothing, that was disappointing. And to charge extra fee for the wifi in this century is nonsense. There should also be warnings for bugs, scorpions or some kind of defender left in the house as we could of got stung...! Inside the house it was very hot and if you'd open a window mosquitos would come in. M was helpful with the taxi for the airport and she answered our every question.

Response from M:
It is good to note that in Malta there are no dangerous species... but sometimes in the hot and humid months some bugs might be seen...that is why most doors and windows have insect screens.

Together with three friends I stayed at M's place in Sliema for a long weekend. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everybody! The townhouse is located in a small alley, close to the Tigné seafront, which means that it is located close to a lot of restaurants and shops, as well as the ferries to Valletta, and at the same time it is in a quiet area! Ideal if you want to relax in the evening. The apartment has everything you could wish for: a kitchen, washing machine, a couple of bedrooms and bathrooms and a wonderful rooftop terrace. Wifi can be a bit slow at times, but in general, it worked without any problems. M is very helpful. Upon arrival, she had arranged a taxi van to wait for us and pick us up at the airport. When we left Sliema, she did the same for us when we had to get back to the airport. Overall, communication with her was quick and she was always ready to help.

House is better than we expected. It's close to everything. The street is very quiet and no security problem. Neighbours are helpfull and very sweet people. House has 3 rooms only one room which is at the top has air condition. Other rooms have ceiling fan but these are enough for the room. House is clean and everything is same as described. We were very pleased at the house. Felt like home.

This was my first experience with Airbnb and I could not have been more lucky! From the moment I selected my property to the moment I checked out I had the best experience. Marieneve answered my inquiry about the property very shortly after I submitted. Before arriving she made sure that I had all the information to get there, always answering promptly and in details all my questions. When I arrived she was there to welcome me, the townhouse was exactly as described and pictured on the website (even better honestly!!), she made sure I had everything (wifi connection working well, answering my questions about the neighborhood, etc) and I had the most incredible stay in this townhouse. The neighborhood was extremely friendly with all stores located right by the street where the townhouse is located, the neighbors are very friendly and welcoming (I have made some great friends during my stay!) and the seafront is literally two minutes away, you can just leave the house and two minutes after you are enjoying a nice refreshing swim. During my stay Marieneve always made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed, so nice and helpful. My experience was just honestly perfect, I had the best holidays, living in this big townhouse made me feel like I was turning back the time since it has all the original features of the old building while all the modern comfort is provided to make our stay as enjoyable as possible…and the rooftop terrace was one of my favorite spots in the townhouse, whenever I would come back from a swim I would just enjoy a nice lunch or diner on the terrace which is incredibly charming and peaceful (we can see the sea from the terrace as well!). I greatly recommend this property, when I return to Malta it will definitely be my first choice! And I would like to thank Marieneve for being such a great host!

I choose this house because different from the other: a real house of Malta, recently restored. I like the color of the stones and the location of it. It is in a small street close to one of the best restaurant area of Sliema and in front of Valletta, very nice at night from there. It is a sort of tower house. Living room at the entrance and a small and essential kitchen area with a table; at the first floor a double bedroom with air conditioning (unfortunately the only one of the house; fans are anyway everywhere), a small second room with a bathroom; at the second floor another small bathroom and a terrace. The house was clean and Wi-Fi is working well. Marieneve was very helpful from the first time I email her. She waited for us till late in the night at our arrival and let us stay till the afternoon at our check out. What's more?
