Splendid U.N. Area Apt.

This was our first time using airbnb and after staying at Andrea’s lovely apartment we’ve decided we’ll never again book a hotel during trips to New York. Just right for relaxing, a nice place to call home and very conveniently located (the U.N. is at the end of the block). Andrea was a fantastic and conscientious host with impeccable recommendations for markets and restaurants in the area (we can’t say enough about Padre Figlio). We’ve already recommended her to friends and can not wait to return. Thanks again, Andrea!

Superb location, only a couple of blocks from Grand Central. Great view from the lounge of the Crysler Building. Very clean and has everything you need, especially the kitchen - small but has everything! Only negative is the shower takes a bit to get the temp right - but im being really picky!

Our stay was excellent Andrea could not be nicer and her apartment is charming with a great location. She had recommendations for everything from sight seeing to eating to luggage storage! Would definitely return!

Andrea and her apartment are amazing. From check-in to checkout and everything in between- especially the breath-taking view of the Chrysler building from the window. Hunted long and hard for an affordable, clean and stylish room in a good location and this is it!! You'd be a fool NOT to stay here!

Andrea's apartment is a 5-star airbnb experience! Even more stylish than the photographs indicate, the apartment is superbly fitted (even down to umbrellas a fridge stocked with necessities), secure and so well-located. Andrea is a kind and incredibly considerate host -- it's no wonder that her booking calendar is so full. I'll be recommending her to all friends travelling to New York. Thank you, Andrea!

This really is a splendid apartment. It is located in a great part of Manhattan and very easy to get around the city from there. The apartment itself is very well decorated and has great amenities. I would recommend Andrea and her apartment any time. In fact, "next time in New York" I hope to stay there again! Andrea is the perfect hostess who even had a welcoming pack for us. Perfect!

My husband and I arrived exhausted from 24 hours of flying and it was a pleasure to come into Andrea's beautiful apartment. We stayed for 5 days and really loved the location, a close walk to the main shopping areas. We found the Amish Market on our 2nd day and the food was lovely. It is always a pleasure being in a place where attention to detail means that whatever you imagine you might need is right in front of you. This was a perfect place to begin our exploration of New York. Thanks Andrea for your hospitality and your attentiveness. It was a real pleasure staying with you.

Thanks to Andrea for helping to make our first visit to NYC (and first Airbnb experience) so memorable. Her apartment is just as pictured and, if anything, is actually a little larger in real life. It was toasty warm for our winter visit, too, where the coldest overnight temp was -11°C. We found the surrounding streets to be safe and quiet at night allowing for a good night's sleep. The location is ideal and a short 5 minute walk to the excellent Grand Central Terminal. Keep wandering west and you'll soon find yourself in Times Square. Feeling more energetic? Central Park South is around 35 minutes walk; take 5th Ave and check out all the iconic shops along the way. Add another 20 minutes if you want to walk to the Guggenheim. More sensibly you can save your feet and use Grand Central as your local Subway stop and make getting around NYC much easier. Although take note, the unlimited daily MTA travel cards (recommended in one of our NYC guides) are no longer available. If you prefer cabs, then outside of peak times, $10 should take you downtown to East Village as far as 2nd Ave where there are heaps of great restaurants. Fresh fruit from Grand Central Market or the Belgian inspired Le Pain Quotidien on E44th and 3rd were our favoured breakfast places to start the day. There are lots of other options too. Once again, thank you, to Andrea (and her assistant Wendy) for being a great help, offering tips and ready to answer questions by email at any time. We would highly recommend staying in either of her apartments and hope to be back ourselves one day.

The location is awesome! The hostess is very attentive and responds quickly to any questions.I would recommend this place to my friends and family without hesitating. The apt is located 500 yards from the UN building, a quick stroll to Grand Central Station and across from a 24/7 deli/foodstore with very nice employees with good coffee. If you can walk any distance we found it easy to get to Broadway and TIme Square in about 20 minutes. A taxi to Central Park/Madison Ave on the North side (uptown as they say) was $10-13 and about 10 minutes to get there. Perfect location, very comfortable and the pictures she has posted are very accurate and show the apt in good detail.

three blocks from the un, on 44th which is an easy 15 minute walk to broadway. a whole apartment for half the price of a hotel room. because of the location there is a police presence which keeps things quiet and safe at night. in a hotel closer to broadway, you need to be above 25 floors to get quiet from the street noises. here, on the 5th floor plus the door on the separate bedroom, it was quiet enough for me to get a good night's sleep each night i was there. small kitchenette. small fridge. plenty of space for a simple visit and comfortable for cooking or not. it's sort of like the small kitchen in an rv or on a small boat. it works. also, what's really nice, is that there are snacks waiting for you when you get in. that was really nice. bathroom is good sized with shower and tub and plenty of hot water. you have to bring your own toiletries so this part is not like a hotel. i travel with toiletries so this didn't bother me at all but you really do need to be aware of it so you don't get caught short. great sized living and dining space and a nicely functioning wireless connection that was good enough for streaming music and working on the net at the same time. i'll stay here again the next time i stay in new york as long as i can book it before someone else does.

We had some wonderful days in NYC and we really much enjoyed the japanese restaurants around Andreas apartment. The apartment itself was very clean and it`s nice to have your "own space" even if you are not there really often. It was very nice that Andrea put a little bite in the fridge for us! Thank you!

The whole process was a breeze. We felt really at home in the apartment which is in a really nice and safe area with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, and 10 minutes from Grand Central.

Andrea was a perfect host who answered any email very quickly and paid attention to detail. The apartment is well located and I will certainly consider to book it again on my next trip to New York.

What a perfect week we had in New York, and that is thanks to Andreas lovely, spacious, quite and clean apartment. The apartment is centrally placed with just a short walk to Grand Central Station. Andrea was a wonderful host helping out with whatever we asked about. We will be back and can recommend this apartment to everyone.

Andreas apartment was just perfect. Centrally placed, spacious and clean. Furthermore it was clear that Andrea really did an effort to make sure our stay was a success. We would recommend Andreas place to anyone who wishes to experience the big apple anytime.

This apartment is one of my most favorite places. Ever. It's so cozy, bright and delightfully decorated. The corner window makes it feel like you're in a cozy little fishbowl in a very cozy part of town. The bed is really comfortable and there is a great deli/shop on the corner too~
