About this listing
Bright and spacious apartment has stunning views of the sea from a gorgeous bay window. The bedroom is spacious and peaceful with a beautiful antique bed and leafy view from the window.
Ten minutes walk from bohemian Saint Leonards, twenty minutes stroll to Hastings charming Old Town.
This is a private flat all to yourselves opposite the sea - perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets and hearing the waves as you relax on the sofa.
What makes the space unique is the fabulous view over the sea - an ever changing beautiful composition of light and colour. You can marvel at the sea sparkling like a million diamonds in the sunshine, watch a storm come and go and listen to the waves taking the tide back and forth from the sofas.
The flat itself is spacious, light and very comfortable so you can feel right at home and relax here.
The bedroom is very quiet and the curtains block out the light giving you peace for a good night's sleep.
As a guest you will have access to the whole apartment - kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom.
I have compiled a list of best restaurants, places for breakfast/brunch, cafes and shops to visit during your stay. Great restaurants tend to get booked up on Friday and Saturday, if you'd like me to book you a table before you arrive just let me know and I'll be happy to book you a table.
The kitchen is stocked with cooking essentials if you'd like to stay at home and cook.
Interaction with guests
I will meet you for check in and talk you through the flat and the area, and for check out. I will be on the end of the phone should you need anything.
What I love about this neighborhood is the fact that you get two for the price of one! You are in the middle of two different, highly characterful towns.
To the East is Hasting Old Town which is quaint and charming with great antique shops, restaurants in bookshops, crazy golf, two funicular lifts, a ruined castle, pirate caves and a serene country park for walks with stunning sea views.
Also to the near East is "The America Ground" on Robertson Street and Claremont - which has quirky vintage shops, a great wholefood shop and a some wonderful cafes.
To the West is St.Leonards with lots of charity shops, fantastic bohemian emporiums, cafes and restaurants on Norman Road and Kings Road. The beautiful and interesting architecture of James and Decimus Burton's original St.Leonards "seaside holiday resort" built in 1826 surrounding the serene St.Leonards Gardens - formerly known as the Blind Gardens because there are lots of fragrant plants - is interesting to explore.
Farther eastwards there are beautiful Rye, gorgeous Camber Sands beach, historic Winchelsea and Romney Marsh for walks in the countryside and Derek Jarman's garden to explore.
Farther west there are Bexhill with it's famous De La Warr Pavilion and great charity shops, Lewes for boutique shopping and great food, and Eastbourne for walks along the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head.
Getting around is easy - walking distance or a short cycle ride - there are bicycles/tandems for hire in St.Leonards and Hastings Old Town. There are regular buses. Leonards Warrior Square train station is 8 minutes walk away.
Local Taxis are efficient and inexpensive. My favourite taxi company number is on the information in the apartment.
There is free parking in nearby Warrior Square at the top end farthest from the sea. There are meters on the seafront and an underground pay car park just the other side of the pier.
Other things to note
The apartment is approx. 70 square meters floor area.
This is a quiet house with considerate neighbours so please live peacefully.
Please leave your outdoor shoes in the hall.
I'm a designer who loves the coast and swimming in the sea. I grew up on the east coast of England and spent happy summers at my grandparents' beach hut.
