Susanne's place is an absolute gem! The ambiance is gorgeous and comfortable with beautiful furniture and art and comfy beds. The staff is lovely. They are kind, friendly, helpful, and the breakfast was always wonderful. We looked forward to it everyday. We had plans to explore the island but we were content to relax and swim and walk and enjoy the incredible beach right out the front door. We highly recommend the villa to anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful getaway.

We had the most wonderful time with the family at Susanne's place. One of the best swimming beaches in Zanzibar right in front of the house. A great airy arabian feel to the house. Hasan was a super, super all round guy and his food was really good too. Susanne employs locals (probably more people than she needs) which is great as well for the small village. All at very a reasonable price.

Our family of four stayed at Villa Bahati for one week in total and had an absolutely fabulous time. The Villa is private with perfect access to the beach, one can literally put the toes into the ocean while still sitting on the beach beds. The rooms were not too cold, not too hot, spacious, clean and also safe which was important for our 1 year old twin girls. The housekeeper Asha is always there to help and will go above and beyond her responsibilities to ensure that everything works smoothly and is comfortable for her guests. In the morning she prepared a great and filling breakfast and always cut fresh fruit for our babies. When one baby got a bit sick she prepared hot lime water and suggested a good doctor which we could see in case we needed to (thanks god we didnt). The manager Kassim came every day to check if things are going well and if there are any problems, if there was an issue, e.g with hot water for a moment, it was immediately solved. Mrisho, a house boy was always available to go to the local shops for us to buy vegetables, milk or baby wipes. The hospitality of the staff was really amazing and we are very thankful for all the help we got. We felt totally at home. It was great to be able to use the kitchen to cook some food for our babies or heat up left overs, make tea or store juices. Next door is a restaurant "Al Hapa" which delivered great food at the requested time. We really cannot say enough good things about this place and can only highly recommend it to any future guest. We are looking forward to staying at Villa Bahati again! Asante sana!

Villa Bahati located at Jambiani beach in the southern part of Zanzibar is an amazing place to stay! the villa is well maintained and the rooms are really cozy and lovely decorated. the garden and the beach invite to relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. The employees are from the local village and do a great job. The breakfast is included and prepared/served with love. There is a night guard as well. I am sure that I will come back to stay at Susanne's place again. I warmly recommend the Villa Bahati to everyone who want to relax at a wonderful place!

Our stay at Villa Bahati was great ! Suzanne arranged everything for us perfectly, and the house was exactly like we expected. The house staff was also very nice and helpful. We were a group of friends and had the whole house for ourselves ! The location is great, with an amazing view on the beach and in an area which is not full of tourists - perfect place to rest and enjoy the nice colors of the sea and sunset. The house in itself is beautiful, with an attention to details (nice furniture, very clean, mosquito nets, good breakfasts, etc.). Try the local food with the welcoming Hassan : delicious ! The village next to it is charming. I recommend it warmly ! We will definitely go back. Thank you Suzanne !

We had a great time at villa Bahati. Very old unique house at the beach. A bit warm at night, though. Some nice beach restaurants & places to hang out during the day as well.

I stayed at Villa Bahati vor 6 nights together with my sister and mother. We had a very realxing time as we had the whole villa an beach to ourselves. We had the family room which consists of a very nice and beautyful bathroom, a sleeping room with a huge double bed as well as a living room with two smaller sized beds. For us the size was totally fine but you should not be too tall if you want to sleep in there comfortably. The villa and its garden is build on a little platform and you have to go down few steps to get to the beach. Unfortunately there was no direct access to the beach as there were sharp rocks and no sand between the villas garden and the steps. We had to balance over rocks to get to the water which would be very dangerous for kids. On our first day Cecilia the house manager came to give us great tips on Jambiani, Bars and Restaurants. We had the best food at Blue Reef which is just a few meters down the beach and they had amazing fish and a daily changing menu for a very good price. You can also have lunch and dinner from Hassan as well who is a friend and owns a restaurant in the village of Jambiani. It is good if you want to try local food but nearly the same every day. Asha the Housekeeper makes breakfast every day which always consists of fruit, a lot of bread and egg dishes, instant coffe, black tea, strawberry jam and butter. Breakfast was ok but very monotonous after a few days. There are two cats living in or around the villa. They were very loud during the night (so dont forget your earplugs) and always trying to jump on the table when we had lunch or dinner. All in all the villa is lovely, communication with Susanne in advance was great and uncomplicated, Jambiani is a little village where is not that much to do apart from eating and relaxing (but that was exactly what we wanted), the Villa is very very beautiful, nicely decorated and clean.
