  • Six friends and I stayed above the Casa del Popola for a long weekend and LOVED it. The apartment is spacious and lovely, with more that enough room for 8 guests. The location is perfect for a visit to Montreal, with restaurants, bars and parks all around. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

This was my first time coordinating a stay through Airbnb, and the whole experience was amazing!! Check in was super easy. There were a few hiccups at the start, but the manager had everything addressed within minutes. We travelled to Montreal with a group of 7, and we only stayed one night in the apartment above Casa del Popolo. We wish we could've stayed longer. In the apartment there were 3 rooms with locks. 2 rooms each had 2 double beds, and the third room had a fold out futon with a tv, and phone. There was a shared kitchen which contained plenty of cutlery, plates, etc, a fridge, microwave, I can't remember if there was a stove as we weren't cooking there, but they even left coffee, tea, honey, and some other items to help cook with. There was a shower room, and a toilet room, as well as an additional couch in the hallway. There was PLENTY of room for 7 + some! We were all incredibly impressed. There were towels, beds were made, the decor was ecclectic and inviting. It's a cool place to stay, and Casa Del Popolo is a nice casual bar where you can enjoy some drinks on the couch and music. My group couldn't stop talking about how amazing the space was, how great the location was, and the biggest bonus, the price. It's incredibly cheap for what you're getting. We walked 2 and a half blocks to another bar/club, and we were shocked at how close we were to Schwartz's. There's a Couche Tard right on the corner. We had an amazing time, and the space was perfect!! We'll be back!

  • Fantastic spot! Easy to get to and from and the apartment was very bright and welcoming. Hosts were very easy to deal with and accommodating (even helping us get a can opener when we bought something we couldn't open!). I would love to go back!

  • Overall our experience was excellent. The apt was a bit late in being ready for us to check in, but they let us put our stuff in it while we had a drink at the bar downstairs and waited for the room to be ready. The apt was clean, cozy, and well stocked with all the toiletries/kitchen utensils we could need. Stayed in the dead of winter, and the apt was warm and comfortable. I was the one that booked the place, but our whole group was pleased with the apt and talked about what a good bargain it was.

  • To the reader: This is a bit lengthy. After the 6 of us waiting five hours in the bar to be allowed into our room, we were finally informed (as if we should have already known) that our apartment was ready. We went upstairs and though the apartment was very nice and perfect for our stay, we found that the kitchen was not accurately equipped for a large group to stay there at once. We had to (more than once) share plates between two people, even after all the dishes were washed. They have a full kitchen so we were excited to cook some meals and save money rather than go out, but we found it was much more of a hassle to do so. We didn't see the owners except for when we first got there, but almost everyone we came across greeted with a smirk and brushed off by many of the staff. Another odd incident was during our stay when one of the staff members came in through the fire-escape window, into one of the bedrooms. Though she was very nice and wanted to make sure we were settled in, it could have been an awkward or disturbing situation, had someone been in that room wanting privacy. One of the doors did not lock properly and if we weren't with friends, I don't think I would have felt safe in the apartment. In any case, we all agreed that the apartment was perfect for our stay, but we could have been treated better, especially at the bar downstairs. One of my main qualms about our stay was that the owner reviewed that we may have been "too young to be left alone". We were all very offended by this, as he claimed that we left the place in a huge mess, when in reality the only room that was not totally cleaned by us was the kitchen, as we did not have the appropriate means to store or dispose of the garbage, and we ran out of dish towels to finish the dishes. Maybe if they didn't take five hours to clean in the first place, they wouldn't have found it to be such an issue. In conclusion, if we had had better communication by the staff and the proper amenities for our time there, we feel we probably would have had a much better stay. Also, maybe if the owner had better customer relations with us, he would have known that I am female, and would perhaps not address me otherwise.

  • This is a fantastic place. First time I have used airbnb and I would definately use it again. For anyone going to Montreal with a group of people, I would strongly encourage selecting this place. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Only issue we encountered during the three days was parking. However we were able to find parking on the side streets (one block away) for the entire weekend with no fee. During the week it would be more difficult for parking though.

  • Great place. Everything was as advertised. It was very spacious and had a lot of character. The beds were clean and comfortable. The pillows were firm. There were 3 bedrooms and 5 queen/double beds. You can fit 2 people on each.

  • this place was totally easy to check into. it's in a great location with all of the shops and cafes on that street. plus, it is right above casa del popolo, which was one of me and my friend's favorite places in montreal. it has a very cool crowd of mixed types--very williamsburg, which is where we all came from.

  • The flat is clean, confortable and very nice.
