  • Beautiful cottage home in a quiet neighborhood. The house was very welcoming and Jais even left bagels and other snacks for us. I would recommend her to anyone staying near the bay area

  • It was easy to contact Jais. We were well received and felt very welcome. The location of the guesthouse is nice, you have a garden and plenty of space inside. It is a short drive to SF and there are so many things to see around Oakland. It was a week well spent and I really recommend staying at this place!

  • My family and I stayed at the cottage retreat for 5 days while visiting my brother in San Francisco (we live in Colorado). It was so convenient- just a 30 mins drive into the city, and only 15 mins from the Oakland airport. We also spent a few hours at the Oakland Zoo (5 mins away!). The cottage was just right for my family (2 kids ages 7 & 12). It was very peaceful- we slept in every morning and made breakfast in the nice kitchen. It felt very private and comfortable- just like coming home each night. We would definitely stay here again!

We wanted a place near our family in Oakland and we found it. This cottage lies in a nice quiet neighbourhood, about 7,8 miles from the house of our son, his wife and his daughter. Everything was arranged well. We were happily surprised to find the things for our first breakfast in the cottage: bagels, milk, orangejus, butter, jelly and even coffee! Jais thank you. I am sure that we will come back when we are visiting our family.

  • My parents stayed with Jais while visiting me. They had the cottage in the back to themselves and had a great time! They said the bed was very comfortable and they enjoyed being able to go out on the balcony. It was a nice perk to be able to gather in the living room and prepare food in the kitchen. Jais even let them have a grapefruit or two from her tree. Delicious!

  • Perfect accomodation for our family of three! Very comfortable, with a spacious downstairs and kitchen to relax in. I was delighted that Jais prepared the place so well for us -- we got in much later than planned due to delayed flight (she let us in at 1030pm), and the inflatable bed was fully set up with blankets and pillow so our daughter could fall right in (and my 3-yr-old was happy with the rainbow sheets she chose to use "vewy pwetty!"). Jais even made sure we had a toddler potty seat with our little one's favorite character - Thomas the Tank Engine. And there were a few breakfast items to help us get the next day started well. My husband and I slept very soundly on the queen bed. Although the cottage is off the beaten path, it has very easy access to main roads, and the location is quiet and safe, and within a mile or so of the Oakland zoo. We loved this place and will definitely stay again if in the area.

Stayed here with our 2 young kids. Jais had setup the airbed and a playpen (to use as a crib) for our kids. The kitchen is well appointed and we made good use of it during our stay. Liked the large fridge (not quite full size). Also made use of the sturdy work table on the main floor for use as a computer table. Upstairs has a nice, but small desk as well. Easy access to the I-580 freeway and the Oakland zoo is just minutes away.

Jais was very welcoming. The reservation process was easy. Her place is somewhat out of the way, there is no shopping or dining close by but it is in a very quiet neighborhood. The kitchen was well equipped and she provided some coffee, fruit and bagels. It is a great value especially if you want to make meals at the cottage.

  • My husband and I recently visited our daughter in Oakland Ca. we were looking for a place that we could come back to at the end of the day and relax. A place where we could cook if we wanted to, and have some space to move around in. We found all that and more at Jais's cottage retreat. It was perfect!! We were hoping we could enjoy the deck and the lovely garden area but the weather did not cooperate. It was a lovely place, private, clean, quaint. with a fully equipped kitchen. If we are ever in the area again I would not hesitate to stay here. It was so much nicer than a hotel room!! One note to those who may be considering staying here-you will need a car, but parking is no problem.

  • We had a very nice time at the cottage. We loved the details of the beautiful quilts, pillows, rugs, paintings and bowls. Jais also had juice, fruit and bagels waiting for us. Cut lavender from the yard smelled amazing and added to the relaxed atmosphere of the cottage. A great quiet neighborhood for a peaceful retreat.
