About this listing

We are Joaquin and Aurelio, a couple of artists (painter/sculptor and photographer) that share a comfortable room in our house embedded in the red rock on the Ebro river, under the imposing and famous Templar castle of Miravet.

The space

One room for two (2) with a wide double bed (king bed, 2x2 m) and mattress latex.

Indirect warm lights and a directional reading light. Bedside table with two drawers. Closet. Table for suitcase. Chair.

Majorcan balcony to a 180º panoramic view over the river and the mountains.

Air conditioning and heat pump.

Full bathroom with shower bath, bright and airy. Towels and cleaning products and bathroom.

Fresco painting in the header of the bed (two nudis full scale of the work of Michelangelo, Sistine Chapel, painted by Joaquin).

*Smoking not allowed inside.

Guest access

The room and guests floor is private with total discrection. The rest of the house is shared. We are used to exchange home and stay with people around the world, cultures and mentalities, very enriching.

The house has four levels to suit the vertical rock face of the mountain and overlooks, as a balcony and a unique view on the Ebro river and mountains 180 degrees unobstructed and open pit, south facing, and sunny.

At the first level (bottom) is a photography studio and sculpture, in the second guest room, a full separate bathroom, a study of direct labor and a terrace overlooking the garden, on the third level a large living room with a glass that runs from side to side, with a gallery all around and covered terrace overlooking the garden, interior kitchen and a single bedroom, a bathroom, corner fireplace and a piano; fourth level with large bathroom, a private bedroom, separate toilet, painting studio and double terrace/solarium right at the foot of the castle and a panoramic view of 270°. A real nest hanging on the rock eagles that frequent the place.

* Washer and kitchen available in common area of the house.

* Free Wi- Fi, art books, travel, extensive collection of classical music.

Interaction with guests

Our life philosophy as creatives leads us to share our home with other artists from around the world. We practice the home exchange and also hosting with creative minds.

We like to treat our guests as the other friends. The most rewarding experience is precisely the coexistence and exchange thoughts and concerns.

The basis of a good meeting is mutual respect and tolerance. If you want silence and isolation definitely you are going to enjoy this place. The apartment of guests is independent of the rest of the house and can come and go without having to interact with each other.

Think about the idea of coming to visit friends and to let yourselves be seduced by a territory that definitely will surprise you.

Other things to note

Miravet is a picturesque and beautiful village on the Ebro lands remarkable by its historic, the Moorish quarter with its curious church-mosque and the the imposing Templar castle (XII century) presiding over the grand river landscape surrounded by mountains and fertile fields.

Miravet is also known for its famous pottery, artisan tradition that still thrives; the old ferry, last living vestige of navigation in the Ebro (without motor), the historical facts of the Battle of the Ebro (1936 ), even visible in the ruin of some houses of the old town, and the footprint of the painter Joaquim Mir, who's his work is present in the Reina Sofía Museum and others around the world.

But above all it is a paradise for canoeing practice!

We run an agency of tourist services (Lo Racó del Temple) so we can advise you on what to visit in the region. More information also available on our websites "ebreguia" and "miravet info".

Aurelio was always very responsive to my emails, and his house definitely has the best views in town from its location just below the castle. Miravet is very small, but is a great base to explore the region. Bar Amadeo, next to Aurelio's shop, has a simple menu and a very friendly and hard working owner. I dropped in 3-4 times each day.

Aurelio made us feel at home in Miravet and gave us tips on what to see in this adorable little town. The view from the house is absolutely breathtaking. We really enjoyed our relaxing time there and appreciated the delicious breakfast Aurelio made us from local ingredients. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom had all the amenities we needed. Aurelio's art surrounding the house and yard was breathtaking and really made our trip enjoyable. We'd definitely recommend staying in this one-of-a-kind Airbnb!

Staying with the fellas was such a wonderful "ahhhhhhhh" experience to relax into, albeit far too briefly. Their warmth, and warmth of their home, is a great tonic to unwind after the frenetic tourist crowds of the cities. The place is immaculate and lavished with care and attention. They are both interested in living a truly good life and appear to be making every success of this on a daily basis. If I had realised what wonderful hosts they were I would have booked to stay much longer. If (when!) I return to Spain I look forward to staying with them again. Thanks again fellas. 11 out of 10.

What a lovely warm welcome we recieved at Aurelio and Joaquin's beautiful home. And what a beautiful and inspiring home they have created, adorned with their wonderful art and photography. The house and views over the river and village were 'to die for' It's easy to see what makes Aurelio a 'Super Host' he clearly takes great pleasure in welcoming people to their home - spoiling us with a delicious hot chocolate and freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning. We came away feeling inspired by them both and their fabulous and creative home. Thankyou

Our stay in Aurelio's home was like a dream. Miravet is beautiful at this time of year, and there was no better way to enjoy it than from the balcony of this airbnb. Aurelio was very accommodating and flexible with our schedule, as we were cycling in and did not know exactly when we would arrive. There is so much space in the house, and all the art makes it a very relaxing place to stay! The stay included a delicious and hearty breakfast with the juiciest honeydew I have ever tasted! We loved talking with Aurelio. We truly felt we were warmly welcomed into his home. Staying at this airbnb was a refreshing, relaxing, and wonderful couple of days! I highly recommend visiting Miravet just to stay here.

Wow, what a great place and great hosts. The views were incredible, with a lot of outdoor space to enjoy. A nice breakfast every morning. The suite was private. It is a very quiet town, but beautiful. Aurelio also runs the local tour shop, so is happy to give guidance as needed. Very good English if needed. I would highly recommend this place for your stay.

Aurelio and Joaquín were very welcoming and everything with the house was prepared fantastically. Our only regret was that we weren't there for longer as the town, the house and the surroundings were incredible.
