CNTR:Sunny flat in stylish building

Lars and Kris were great, and the room in their apartment was, too! With an unexpected extra night in town after a week in a villa with friends, I was able to book 2 days prior to my 1 night stay in a room in an unbeatable location for wandering around a most pleasant neighborhood of Barcelona. As a former fellow New Yorker girlfriend puts it, Born is the "soho" of Barcelona--but quieter and cleaner. tl,dr: Quiet space, friendly hosts, perfect spot.

Was a great experience! The flat is very well located and Lars and Chris are excellent hosts with a good knowledge of the area. Definitely will be my main stay when ever i go back to BCN.

Lars was a great host. I changed my travel plan (literally) at the last minute, and Lars got back to me promptly and even though I was not able to confirm with him prior to my flight departed New York , he was readily available provide keys to the flat and to help me when I arrived in the city. I met another guest when I arrived at the apartment he was polite and respectful, and I also met his girl friend who was just as warm and friendly as Lars. I found the set up comfortable, and social, but you also have your own privacy when you want it. I was very thankful to find a nice place to stay in a very friendly atmosphere. Thank you Lars!

We had a great time at Lars & Kris. They have been really nice hosts - totally relaxed and easy going people. Wish we could talk to them more often - we were very busy with discovering Barcelona, so we stayed rarely at home :-). The apartment of them is super: totally central - you can reach everything by walk - also the nice beach. When you step out of the house you are right on the nice Passeig el Born, where many nice cafés and bars are. And also there are the nice church (Santa Maria del Mar) and the Picasso Museum and other places of interests. Everything is totally near by. The flat is simple, but very comfortable. The room is small, but offers everything you need. Anyway: You won't stay long in the apartment - Barcelona is to exciting. :-) I can totally recommend to stay at Lars & Kris. If I come back to Barcelona (and for sure I will), I would love to stay there again. Thanx to you both.

Lars and Kris are very lovely people, helpful and hospitable. The flat is very nice in a beautiful location in the bendiest area of Barcelona. Great. If we come back one time, we hope to stay there again.

I stayed 3 weeks in this great flat. It is a fantastic location, with a nice sunny aspect. My bed was comfy and the location fairly quiet. As a mature woman, I got along well with my much longer hosts who were kind and helpful. I was able one evening to host a party for my adult son (who lives elsewhere) and a few of his friends. We had a fun dinner out one night with Lars and Kris too. They have good suggestions for where to shop and eat.

Lars and Kris have AirBnB down to a system. With the separate shelves for guests to store food, with the locks on the individual bedrooms in addition to the front doors, and with reasonably quick responses to all my pre-arrival queries, they really seem to take this AirBnB thing seriously (and professionally). As hosts, Lars and Kris were overall very pleasant and open people. Despite working in tourism all day, then coming home to guests at night, they seemed to genuinely enjoy having people stay with them and introducing people to the city they obviously quite enjoy. When staying with a couple, there's always a chance of arriving during a bad week, but they seemed overall in a very comfortable place in their relationship and just very comfortable with people in general. The location is really nice, in a very lively district with lots of nice restaurants and close to several other good districts, including Barri Gothic. I found myself walking most everywhere, but it's a far walk for most people to walk to places like La Sagrada Familia. But hey, there's a subway. If you stay, ask them about the place down the street where you can get cheap wine from a barrel. There were a few small downsides. The bed was quite noisy and one spring coil was somewhat poky. Me and my boyfriend commented, though, that their bed was still more comfortable than the bed we had been in at our previous hotel in London that trip. The other downside is that if they're at full capacity, there are 6 people to a bathroom, which is doable, but not ideal. Overall great stay. Would stay with them again.

It was a pleasure staying here during my time in Barcelona. The location was great with easy walking distance to museums, bars, the beach, cafe culture and metro links. Lars and Kris were very welcoming, warm and helpful. Kris did a great job on stitching my bag for me when it split on my last day. I will be back to stay again on my next visit to Barcelona.

Lars and Kris and Julia were all great and the apartment and room were really nice! Lars was a great communicator and gave lots of great tips, including detailed directions to get to their apartment using almost any type of transport. Lars and Kris are really friendly and made me feel at home - even for my brief visit. The room is great, lots of closet space, a safe just in case, and a balcony. The apartment was clean and modern and homey, and the location was central and in a very cool part of town. Loved it! Highly recommend staying here.

I had a wonderful time staying in Lars and Cristina's apartment. The flat is in such an amazing location- and feels very much like a home, rather than just any old room. Lars was really quick with getting back to me after I first expressed interest in the flat, and both he and Julia (the other housemate) were very warm and welcoming. I can highly recommend this spot- its both clean and charming, and I would definitely be keen to stay here again on future visits to Barcelona.

Lars and Kris were very laid back, extremely helpful and friendly hosts to me and my girlfriend(first time airbnbers). The Apt was very comfortable and clean and in a brilliant location in El Born. We really enjoyed getting up late every morning and having breakfast on the balcony overlooking the square ...

Great location, central but quiet. Relaxed atmosphere. Great value for money. Kris&Lars are super nice.

I had a great time staying with Kris and Lars, both of them were super nice and helpful and they even let me use their private laptop when my phone got stolen in a bar (-> yes, pickpockets are really everywhere!!) The location is amazing, there are a lot of nice shops, restaurants and bars just around the corner and you can easily walk to the beach or more commercial shopping area. Great place especially for young people.

Very clean and tidy apartment in an awesome location. Lars and Kris were very helpful and welcoming at every turn. The flat is an area with lots of bars and food is easy to find. At night it can be a tad noisy, but nothing unexpected for an apartment in the middle of a bustling city. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in BCN!

Lars and Chris were very friendly, helpful and gave us good advice on what to do/where to go in the city. They made us feel very welcome and it was an easy and pleasant stay. The place is clean and tidy. You have a shelf space for yourself in the bathroom, kitchen and the fridge. The location is unbeatable with great bars and cafes around. Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of time in Barcelona but we could see that it would be very easy to stay at theirs for weeks and just hang out in the city. Highly recommended!

Hosted by Lars and Kristina, who along with being incredibly friendly and easy-going, happen to be tour guides for a nearby bike company, which is handy to say the least. Basically if they don't know where it is or how best to get there, well then it's probably not in Barcelona. The flat is bright, clean and homely, as you'd expect as they live there, and our room was medium-sized, clean with nice big full-length windows, a huge wardrobe and a safe. Clean and minimal, the room's only negative is the squeeky bed, it's comfy there's no doubt, but it's squeeky as hell. The flat overlooks the busy cathedral square, slap bang in the middle of Borne, so if you stumble out of flat in any direction you'll find good food, drink, a Picasso museum and a taste of Guadi's architectural influence on the city. Surprisingly it's not noisy at all, with the room facing out towards the alley where you come in through the front door, rather than towards the square. All in all, you will be seriously hard-pushed to find either more accommodating and genuinely friendly hosts, or a nicer room/location for this kind of money. I couldn't recommend it more, and I have tried.

Lars and Kris are wonderful hosts. Their flat is bright, clean, and friendly. They provided us with a map and great suggestions so we could hit the pavement and explore Barcelona right away. The place really is right in the middle of El Born district near by the best tapas and pintxos in all of Catalunya! There is a metro stop a quick hop away with at most two stops to anywhere you want to go. My girlfriend and I stayed two nights and loved it! Even though we didn't stay with Lars and Kris when we returned to Barcelona after checking out Andalucía, we ended up meeting up with them and grabbing a few drinks for our last night in Spain. They are really great people and we highly recommend this place!

Had a great stay with Lars and Kris! Their apartment is in the perfect location and they could not have been friendlier. Learned a lot from them and had a ton of fun in Barcelona. El Borne was a great neighborhood and we enjoyed wandering the neighborhood, as well as biking the city with bicycles from Lars' and Kris' bicycle shop. Loved their apartment and all the balconies (one facing the square and the Santa Maria del Mar cathedral and the one in our bedroom facing a very quiet little street.) They had a map ready for us and helped us find our way around the city. Especially great because we planned our trip only three days in advance!

What a great experience we had in Barcelona. Lars and Kris were extraordinary hosts: helpful, knowledgable, fun, and very welcoming. They were fantastic resources for all things Barcelona, including restaurants we NEVER would have found on our own. These folk know the ins and outs of the city, and were alway available with advice and tech support. The apartment is fantastic, very clean and comfortable. Just as pictured. el Born is a wonderful neighborhood...fun and lively, while maintaining an old world feeling. great restaurants and nightlife, yet quiet and very safe. So grateful for this experience!

The location of the place is absolutely perfect.The neighborhood is full with cute shops, restaurants, bars,etc. It is within walking distance of major touristy places in the city. The place looks exactly the same as in the pictures. Lars and Kris are very sweet and nice. I totally enjoyed my stay in Barcelona

I've known Lars for a while and you're always guaranteed to have a good time when you're with him. He's full of energy and always knows how to find fun, but isn't crazy or over-the-top. He's incredibly friendly & social and makes sure that anyone he's around is happy as well.
