Because I entered the wrong dates when I made my first reservation, Chas and Cara had to cancel it in order for me to be able to place a new one with the right dates. Cara has been very accomodating. It's been very easy and a pleasure to interact with them ever since and I look forward to my stay with them.

Great hosts, and they have two fantastic cats!! We raccommend this place.

It's in South Philadelphia, which is a little rough around the edges (if you're used to suburban or gentrified areas), but it's a quick walk to bus lines that will take you right into Center City. The hosts are quite hospitable and friendly, and the cats are adorable! We had a good three nights' stay and would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a very nice time in Chas & Cara's house. Neighborhood : typically american with people sitting on the stairs of their houses and just having a chat, I loved that. The house : Nice and comfortable. Bathroom just next to the room. You take your breakfast in the morning by yourself. The host really make you feel at home ! The hosts : very nice and friendly people ! Cara's is perfect at languages. Careful, she can understand almost everything lol ! Kisses to them. Johann & Audrey

We were made very welcome nothing wa stoo much trouble. I did not realise that the area was quite so poor /looked run down . The locals were all friendly.

That was a really nice stay! Chas and Cara are a lovely couple - genuine and sympathetic too, so they're great to be with in Philly. They gave me and my bike a lift from the centre of town down to their house when my bicycle had broken down, so I am eternally grateful for the assistance, not to mention making dinner on the first night which delicious, so an especial thank you for that. I really appreciated that and loads of ice cold water to drink - I was so so so thirsty!! The room was air conditioned, clean, comfortable and came with fresh linen and towels too and a decent hot shower. The locality in South Philadelphia is eclectic and perhaps a little tired around the edges, but my experience of the people of the area and the local community (local laundrette, local hardware shop, local grocery store) was very positive and Chas and Cara emphatically so.

Me and my wife stayed at Chas and Cara's for five nights and had a very good time in Philadelphia. They were very warm and welcoming and the house was clean and cozy. They had two very cute and friendly cats. It was our first time in Philadelphia and Chas helped us with his advice in getting around town.We had a comfortable stay and will definitely visit them agin if we come back.

For its price it is an excellent place to spend a few nights in. Having said that, both Cara and Chas are first rate persons, especially Cara:very pleasant, very hospitable, very helpful-I have run out of words in their praise. As Cara said, she values people much more than money. I cannot thank her enough for driving my daughter to a very important appointment in driving rain. But for her it would have been very difficult to be punctual. Shafaat Rasool

Chas and Cara were very nice hosts. They let us use their kitchen freely, and even enjoy the food. The apartment was clean and neat. It was very easy to get to the historic sites by bus. Thanks for helping us!

Lovely friendly place to stay :)

I stayed in the Pleasant Room for two nights. My host was very helpful and, well, pleasant. He recommended great restaurants, and directions for getting around town. The bed is large and comfortable, the bathroom is clean, and the house is beautiful. Gorgeous courtroom out back. The neighborhood is definitely classic South Philly, but I never felt unsafe at any time. The bus is a short ride into the city and back. I'll be returning soon!

Although my stay at My Cara was short (one night only), it was awesome. The bed was so super comfortable I had a hard time waking up in the morning. They were super accommodating, and had thought of everything. They were kind enough to help me get to where I needed to get in the morning, and the neighborhood they live in was great. I only wish I had time to explore it more thoroughly.

I had a great time staying with Chas and Cara. I was really lucky to find their place. As a traveler, it is always nice to find a homey atmosphere. C & C don't really make an effort to make you feel at home - it is just a natural part of both of their personalities! Both of them have traveled and lived in many parts of the world and we shared a common in interest in foreign languages. They both have a wide range of interests - in art, music, travel, culture, the environment. It was never a dull moment Chez C & C! At the same time, C & C are highly respectful of your privacy - so you aren't signing up to live with nagging roommates. Basically, you have the best of both worlds at their place - homeyness and a nice private retreat after a day of sightseeing. All of the sites in Philly are accessible by public transportation and even walking, which is what I did to get to downtown and West Philadelphia. I highly recommend their place for travelers to Philadelphia who want a nice, homey atmosphere and gracious hosts.

wooow here you are!!!chas and cara the home feeling when you travel away from home,, very nice couple with 2 lovely cats... place is comfy, clean, and amazing... not far from Center city or old city.. the internet work very good.. i really love that place and i had very nice time with my girlfriend there!!! now i know that have place and friends in Philadelphia!!!

I had a great time at Chas and Cara's. They a really fantastic couple who was very helpful with everything and anything you could think of. It was great spending time with them when we were all there, but they still gave us our privacy when we needed it. They really make you feel at home with everything and we have all become great friends. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and the bus stops about a block away, which is very convenient. The house is quite worldly with alot of interesting things. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable and warm. Their two cats were just so lovable and well behaved. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in a place that will be your home away from home!

I took a job in Philadelphia and need a place to stay while I looked for a home. I stayed at Chas and Cara and was treated like family. They are a wonderful couple who are very cultured and welcoming. If you are traveling and looking for a comfortable place to stay look no future because this is a GREAT PLACE TO STAY! The will help you make yourself at home!
