Cool & Cozy Apt in Great Neighborhd

We had 22 fantastic days in NYC which would not have been possible without staying at Josh and Drew's apartment -a hotel was out of the question It also meant that my partner's son could join us and we got to share time together The apartment has lots of room and is warm and comfortable (loved the central heating) My partner was sick for a few days so it was great to be able to buy groceries and cook a couple of nights Its a great neighborhood and very easy to get to Manhattan Love the Q train We also ate out locally a couple of times - it made a difference to have nice cafes and restaurants (and laundry + shops )handy And we felt very safe Josh is an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed All in all staying here gave us the base for an amazing holiday

Staying in Joshua's apartment was fantastic!! As soon as we arrived Josh was there to welcome us into the place......in which Josh and his wife have filled with creative love and consideration. The character of the space is vibrant and has truly an indivduality that only a New York, Brooklyn apartment should have! Also the neighbourhood is great with such variety off organic food, cafes and resturants.......note: this is great place to stay if ur a celiac and need gluten free goods! iTs close to the sub - way and is warm if ur staying in winter!!! If your coming to New York... stay here!! thanks Josh, great space!!!

I took my father (an art teacher and lover) to New York in order to celebrate his retirement. The last place we wanted to stay was in a hotel, as we wanted a little more than 4 walls and two beds. We were looking for a place with character and found it in Josh and Drew's apartment in Brooklyn. They were fantastic hosts and their place was perfect, as it was close to the Q train giving us easy access to lower Manhattan and all of the up and coming areas of Brooklyn, it's decor was charming and inviting, and its neighborhood had everything one would need in an extended trip.

This apartment is in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn with many excellent reastaurants just around the corner. We particularly loved the Farm on Adderly. Transportation to the subway is just a couple of blocks away. The apartment was very spacious and clean. The two beds were a plus for our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone making a trip to New York. One note though is that the apartment is above a bar, and if you are an early sleeper or light sleeper you might have issues with the bar noise. Josh was very helpful and answered all the questions we had. Thanks!

A group of us stayed at Josh and Drew's and had a fantastic time. The apartment is light-filled and feels,very quickly, like home. Josh and Drew were always helpful and friendly and the immediate neighborhood is so good, we didn't even leave it on one of our 4 days in the New York area!

L'appartamento è arredato con gusto e divertimento e si vede, non ho potuto incontrare josh di persona ma è sempre stato molto gentile e tra l'altro molto organizzato . La posizione è molto bella, a 10 minuti a piedi da prospect park passando per viali di vecchie case in legno, per vedere anche un'altra faccia della metropoli che se si dorme a manhattan forse non si vede. In generale Brooklin è molto bella . Quartiere tranquillo, linea della metro con viaggi frequenti .

My friend and I stayed in Joshua's apartment for about a week when we visited NYC for the first time. We had a great experience and are so glad that we chose to stay here! The apartment was so lovely and very clean. The people in the neighborhood were very friendly and it felt safe there, even late at night. The stores got everything we needed and the apartment was close to the subway. It took probably around 25 minutes to Times Square which we thought was quick. We would definitely recommend our friends to stay here and do it again ourselves without a doubt!

The apartment was excellent! There was a bunch of useful information about the neighbourhood which was excellent. There was even a MOMA card to use, which gets one person in for free, and the others for $5 each, saving A LOT! Also, the drinks in the fridge were a nice touch :) The neighbourhood is very safe and full of great places to eat. There is an excellent bar underneath the apartment also. Totally recommended!

We stayed here for a week. The apt (kitchen and bathroom)was really clean and nice. It was easy communicating with Josh. He was very helpfull. There are lot of restaurants and supermarket in neighborhood. The subway is just 2 blocks away and it takes 15 to 20 minutes to Time Square.

We arranged to rent from Josh and Drew for a four day weekend in New York. It was our tenth wedding anniversary, and we wanted to have a different experience than we would get staying in a Manhattan hotel. We were able to rent the entire apartment, as Josh and Drew were going to be in Asia during our stay. They arranged for the keys to be left in the bar near their apartment, and we picked the keys up as arranged with no problem. The bartender in the bar (the Sycamore) don't miss it) even gave me a free beer and welcomed me to the neighborhood. The apartment is extremely cute and a very nice size for the two of us. It was well-equipped. We didn't cook during the stay but it appeared to have everything we needed. The only drawback to the place is that during the first two days of our trip it was about 100 degrees in the city during the heat of the day, and the apartment's two window AC units struggled to keep the place cool. This would not be a problem when sleeping in the room with the pullout sofa as the AC units cool their two rooms very nicely. Other than that we absolutely loved the stay and would stay there again. It is a wonderful neighborhood with a lot to choose from as far as restaurants are concerned, and it is quite convenient to the subway. The Cortelyou Road station is just a couple of blocks from the apartment. The subway ride is about 1/2 hour from midtown, perhaps a little less. It was very easy to get around the city using this apartment as a base, but we really loved the relaxed pace of the neighborhood and especially the variety of restaurants within walking distance. The staff of many of the restaurants know a lot of their customers by name, which gives kind of a small town feel to the neighborhood. If you are inclined to cook, the Flatbush food coop is nearby and we noticed some produce vendors selling on the street on Sunday. Unfortunately, we were leaving that day. All in all a wonderful time, really good, reliable hosts. Don't hesitate to book this.

Josh and Drew were wonderful hosts! Everything was so well organised for us, and their apartment is in the perfect location: three blocks from the Q Train DIRECT to NYC. Plus organic supermarket just around the corner, and a great wine bar too. Highly recommend.

It was my first visit to New York and it couldn't have been better. Josh and Drew's place is really cozy and cool. It has everything close to it: a mexican restaurant, a very nice place where you can have breakfast, lots of options for organic food enthusiasts, even a barber shop. It is very close to a subway station, so it was very convenient. The room is bigger than it looks in the pictures. The bed is great and it has a spacious closet. Josh and Drew were very courteous and tried to make me feel comfortable. I didn't get to spend much time with them (which I kind of regret now, they are really nice people) because I was out most of the time, but they really made me feel "at home". You can get to Manhattan in 20/30 minutes from the Q train station. It is very easy to get around New York using the MTA system, so the (very) close station was a great plus. I loved it. I loved NYC and I loved staying at Josh and Drew's place. I give it an A+ :-)

Josh and Drew are great hosts, both helpful and friendly. The apartment is in a great location, close to the metro and with great restaurants just outside. We were fortunate to see Drew dance, which was a great experience. authentic diner round the corner too! If you like art, then get the train upstate to Beacon for the day to visit DIA Beacon, its fantastic and journey up the Hudson river is breathtaking. Thanks Josh and Drew.

This was our first Airbnb experience and it was really good. Josh responded to all my questions and concerns honestly and promptly before we arrived and during our stay was super helpful with any questions we had about the subway, taxis, places to eat, even recommending a really cool show! He was really easy to talk to and made us feel very comfortable. The apartment is exactly what you see in the photos and has a lot of artistic charm. The room is small for two people (my husband and I) but Josh was clear about that before we booked. We didn't spend a lot of time at the apartment so it was fine for us. The room faces the main street so it was a bit noisy at night with loud conversations (and arguments!) from late night revelers and in the morning with traffic. But hey, NYC is loud and it was all part of the experience! The train to Manhattan is easy and fairly quick. Just make sure you ask a subway employee which train to take at night (the service changes regularly in the evening - we tried to figure it out on our own and almost didn't make it home one night!) I also want to add that I am really impressed with the customer service at Airbnb. I had to call a couple of times and they were really great so I would definitely go through this service again on our next adventure!

It was in the beginning October that we stayed at Josh's and Drew's and it was such a nice place. Those guys are really lovely and help you out where they can. But not only the apartment was nice... It was also the surrounding with its grocery stores, cafes and retsurants that made it the perfect place to stay a couple of days in NYC. Thank you again! Benjamin and Joanna.

This was our first time in NYC and Josh and Drew were very very welcoming hosts. The apartment was a gorgeous, very creative and inspiring place and I couldn't believe how clean and tidy it was! Any questions they had, they answered enthusiatically and really made our transition into NY life very pleasant. It is a lovely area and the bars that were beneath the flat were fun and very vibrant. We would really recommend Mimi's for Brunch, unique middle eastern Restaurant, as well as The Farm for organic scrummyness. I was glad that later on in the holiday we spent some time in Manhattan, as this felt like the perfect mix for a holiday.

I came to NYC for a conference and was so lucky to find Josh and Drew place, even though I had to take the train in to Manhattan. They are very nice and helpful. And no lie about the cosy room and the COOL NEIGHBOR HOOD ;o) I loved the little organic store "Natural frontier market" just a few doors away, where I could have my Green Lemon drink in the morning. I highly recommend to stay at Cool Room & Neighborhood:) and hope I will be able to come again someday and maybe get to know the hosts better ;o) I wish the best for them. Inga Loa

Josh and Drew are very good hosts. Everything turned out really nice. I can't think of anything that would make me choose differently. I just hope to have a chance to explore Brooklyn nex time. By the way, Mimi's Humus, one of their suggested restaurants, is a great and delicious place.

Josh & Drew were great hosts, it was good to see NYC from Brooklyn prospective. Easy ride into Manhattan using subway. It was my first time using airbnb so very happy. Highly recommend for someone looking for a unique stay in New York.

Staying with Josh and Drew in their Brooklyn apartment was the perfect base for the weeklong stay my friend and I were having in NYC. Josh was there to greet us upon our arrival, and showed us around the flat, inviting us to use the common spaces (lounge, kitchen) as well. He provided maps and a print-out identifying recommended places to eat in the area. The apartment was a quick walk to the Subway station, where we caught the Q line daily. We tried several places for breakfast between the apartment and the subway station, and usually had more food than we knew what to do with. I would definitely recommend Josh and Drew as hosts to anyone visiting NYC!

Trustworthy and generous are words that come to mind when thinking of describing Josh. On many occasions he has offered his time and help to me and has always been reliable. WIth a warm, comfortable New York CIty apartment with artistic character, you will be close enough to the centre yet far enough to retreat from the chaos. I highly recommend it. Josh is a great guy with a great apartment, Im pretty sure it will be at Josh's place where you will be satisified when looking for that authentic NYC stay.

As one host to another, I've gotten to know Josh pretty well and there aren't enough good things that I can say about him. He's a great, nice guy and an amazing and seasoned host. It's not by luck that he's a SuperHost! He's got an amazing eye for design which is why his spaces are so cool and anyone would be super lucky to be hosted by him. His wife is also a really love lady--sweet as pie!

Josh is a great guy and their apartment is a lot of fun. I'd take advantage of this rental if I were you.

Josh and Drew know cozy, quirky, cool and sophisticated like few people do. The atmosphere they've created is human in the creative sense, warm, luxurious, inventive, light-filled, clean, and (dare I mention) filled with love. Yes, you can feel the love. It's tangible. The type of tangible that makes me want to move to New York. Tell anyone in the neighborhood you know Josh and Drew, and you'll likely get drinks for free.
