Rent your own apartment with 2 sunny bedrooms in a new building in the lovely East Village!

About the Apartment:
This is a true gem of an apartment on a quiet block in the best neighborhood in NYC. Located on the 5th floor far away from street noise in a new, quiet elevator building, each bedroom is very clean and fully furnished with large, south facing windows.
• Bedroom one has a super comfortable queen size (60"/151 cm) bed, a work area with desk, work chair and printer, a closet with space to hang clothes and a dresser.
• The other bedroom has a full size (54"/136 cm) bed that sleeps two and a twin size (39"/99 cm) bed that fits one person so you can fit 3 people in this room. There is also a nightstand with bedside lamp and an open closet with hangers and shelf space.
• The kitchen has granite countertops, maple cabinets, and high-end stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, big fridge and freezer. We have a cabinet with coffee, tea , spices and other things you can use and you can also take anything from the fridge that you need.
• The kitchen opens up to the living room which has a couch/futon (that can sleep two more people - yes that's right, you can sleep 7 ppl here), coffee table and tv with DVD player. Hardwood floors throughout.
• The bathroom has stone floors and walls, a full bathtub with shower. Shampoo and other products you can use and a hair dryer you can borrow.
• Roof has sweeping city views where you can see the Empire State Building.

About the Neighborhood:
• Located near an endless selection of excellent restaurants, bars/clubs, parks, and music venues that has some of the best prices in NYC. For example on Ave C you have super cozy and friendly Latino restaurant Esperanto with great food and live music - the high end bar Summit with excellent cocktails - friendly and packed German restaurant Züm Schneider with great beer and a killer gulasch - and happy Aussie bar/restaurant Sunburnt Cow with Monday all you can eat and drink for $20!
• You are a 7-10 minute walk from the F train at Houston and 1st Ave which takes you west past the West Village and up along 6th Ave through Midtown. You also have access to the L train if you take bus 14D half a block away on Ave D. The L goes to Williamsburg, Brooklyn or in the other direction along 14th Street connecting you to every other subway line.

Note: Minimum stay 4 nights except when we have 2-3 nights available between other bookings.
Price is for the entire 2 bedroom apartment.
Fresh sheets and towels included. Laundry can be done in the building upon request for a small fee.
Free wifi you can use anywhere in the apartment.

Please read our excellent reviews! We have been hosts on AirBnB for 2,5 years now with only happy guests - and we plan to keep it that way :)

If interested in our place, please write a few sentences of who you are and add any questions you might have. We'll get back to you as soon as we see your message.

ABOUT PAYMENT:
Many ask about the price and extra fees and how to pay. When you put in the dates and number of people you will get our total cost. There are no taxes or cleaning fees on top of this, but AirBnB adds their fee. It varies between 6-12% on top of our price. The deposit of $200 will be returned to you 48 hours after you check out if you leave the place in good condition according to the house rules. So far we have never had to keep any of the deposits.

All the payments are safely made with credit card to AirBnB when booking. They hold the money until the day you check in and will then transfer it to us.

Bookings with us are done with the "strict" cancellation policy and all cancellations should be done through AirBnB. This being said, if we manage to re-rent the place the nights you have canceled we can give a bigger refund to you than what the strict cancellation policy dictates. The earlier you cancel the bigger the chance that we will find other guests.

We stayed with my parents in May and we had a really great weekend. Good things (in no particular order): Flat has two bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Very clean. Nice living space and kitchen has everything you need. It is quiet, and I mean really quiet, we had a great sleep. Lotta and Drew are very helpful and responsive (thank you!) Overall we felt very safe. There are great little restaurants nearby for Sunday brunch (we liked a Cuban place on Ave B). It is really convenient for FDR drive to get in and out of the city going north - we were driving from Boston and were home in 3.5hrs. It is only $8 taxi ride to the West Village. There is a good parking garage around the corner on Essex street - $30 a day, staff were nice and helpful. Bad things: The street the flat is on felt a little unsafe at night - but we are not used to the city and we just took a taxi home anyway, so it didn't matter in the end. The decor in the flat is a bit tired. Overall: I think it is a good deal to stay at Lotta and Drew's place. We calculated the money we saved on not staying in a hotel in the West Village or downtown minus the money we spent on taxi's to and from the apartment and we were very happy! The best thing is how helpful and responsive Lotta was when arranging the visit. MUCH better than a hotel and I would rent this apartment again. Thank you very much!

  • What a fab little apartment!! Such a great location and so close to everything. I stayed here with my mum and brother and it was fantastic, enough space for all of us. So much better than a hotel room and a great way to get acquainted with your bearings in NYC. Lotte and Drew have really thought about everything and there is an abundance of information ready for you when arrive. Would be happy to recommend to anyone. Thanks again Lotte and Drew.

  • Nice situation close to lot of place to go out and restaurants in East Village .

  • Our family had a great stay in Lotta and Drews apartment which is so well equipped and located in a very nice area of NY. Lotta and Drew are really good hosts and were very easy and nice to talk to. Before and during our stay we got superfast answers to our questions and we felt very velcome. We had our eldest son, who studies in Connecticut, staying with us for a couple of nights during our 8 day stay, and that was really well prepared for by Lotta and Drew. We can really recommend both the apartment and the hosts with their good advices and friendly attitude. This is where you want to stay in NY!

  • A very comfortable, pleasant apartment at the edge of a great neighborhood. Small, like all NYC apts, but it fit four adults fine. The hosts are very nice and the price is great. My only complaint is that it's a bit off the beaten track. Bus access is OK, but subway access is awkward. One advantage, though, is that it's nice and quiet.

  • Lotta & Drew where very friendly and easy going. Drew was as we arrange at the apartment and left it for us clean, the location of the apartment is great and everything in the apartment was as described i would strongly recommend their place!

  • Excellent hosts, very responsive and accommodating. The place was clean with clear instructions provided at every turn, even suggestions on places to eat! We weren't at the apartment very much to be honest and it's smaller living space was not a problem. Pretty central to everything and most places were only a short cab ride away. Also close to some excellent bars.

  • A really comfortable bed in a really lively area. Plenty of excellent quality restaurants and bars i walking distance, great when you've been walking miles and miles during the day. Really easily organised with Lotte and Drew, even though they were not in town, everything was simple and stress free.

  • We had a phantastic time with our kids in NYC and we are sure to come back soon! Drew was very helpful and we have nothing to complain about.

  • Our stay in Drew and Lotta's apartment in the East Village was great. Drew and Lotta were very friendly and helpful in all communications, and the apartment was neat, clean and had everything we required. The apartment was close to many restaurants and bars as well as a Wholefoods. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a home away from home in New York.

  • About: Lotta is originally from Sweden, Drew grew up in Florida and California. Now we both live in New York City, in the wonderful East Village, since several years back. We are both avid world travellers, so we know pretty well what visitors are looking for in a place to stay. Since we live in the area where we rent we know a lot of the local spots and will gladly share our favorite picks with you. We started off with two AirBnB accounts but have now joined forces! That is why some of our reviews talk about Drews place and some about Lottas. When you contact us you will get a very quick response from Lotta. She is the star emailer! If you decide to book with us you will (when he can) be met by a smiling Drew. He takes a joy in making sure our guests settle in okay. We think we make a pretty good team and so far our guests agree with us. And we intend to keep it that way.
