Or simply relax... We're located on a sunny acre in the redwood forest with private access to Hulbert Creek, a fairy ring of 200-ft redwoods complete with a hammock, a hot tub under the stars, and much more...

The cottage has a private yard with its own organic vegetable garden. The kitchen is stocked for a cook with quality cooking equipment and is supplied with oils, sauces and spices. Tranquil, without phones or TV, we have plenty of good books & an extensive movie collection. A perfect retreat!

Couples Retreat: In addition to our cottage, we have a guest room with a private entrance and a private bathroom--that when rented along with the cottage--provides nice accommodations for two couples. (This space rents for $75 per night off-season or $85 per night high-season and holidays.)

Additional Guests: The cottage is most appropriate for up to 2 people. A third person can be accommodated on a tri-fold mattress on the floor for an extra fee.

First, let me say that Kathy and Jim are wonderful people. I liked them immensely. Their cottage is lovely and I appreciated all the "extras" - fresh flowers, cozy hammock, fully stocked kitchen - that made the place great. Jim and Kathy were away the weekend I visited and it was nice to have the run of the property. I enjoyed the garden, the kitty, the reading nooks and walking to the hot tub in just a towel. However, if they had been around, I might have felt like I needed a bit more privacy. My trip was not to take in the local sights, but, rather to hang out at my "home away from home." Finally, the neighbors were quite loud. I don't know if it was just a Saturday night party, but as the cottage and their backyard is separated only by a fence, I heard most of everything that went on. All in all, I think Jim and Kathy's cottage is a great home base to explore the area and all it has to offer.

Staying a the cottage was a wonderful experience - so much more than I had expected. The grounds were beautiful with so many hidden places to read, meditate or just enjoy the sunshine. The hot tub under the redwoods was divine and the hammock in the fair ring was truly magical. And the bed - so huge & so comfortable!! Kathy & Jim were great hosts, friendly, available and totally respectful of my privacy. The walk down the road to the river was much easier and took less time than I though & the river beach was peaceful and not crowded (I went on a weekday.) I would definitely recommend the cottage to anyone looking to get a way for a great price. Plan to come back for a longer stay as soon as I can!

What a nice, cozy place! It had everything we needed to cook a nice dinner as well as a fine collection of movies on VHS. Remember tracking? Hah! And a very comfortable bed. They were incredibly welcoming and even showed us around their garden. Fava beans were just coming in to season and they told us to help ourselves. Mmm! I left my laptop charger there and the graciously sent it back to us. Great place, great people.

What an awesome place! Our host were super nice folks and very down to earth. We hope to return as soon as we can and what a cool town to wander around in. The most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in. For those who like to get lost in the softness of pillows this is it. Sure wish we could have stayed more than two days.

Completely enjoyed our stay in the cottage, and the area in general. This is a great area for a retreat. It's very peaceful and beautiful. The redwoods are amazing, and some of the views around like Bodega Bay are great. The cottage felt very cozy and tranquil. Definitely thinking of coming back again. Great place!!!
