  • Hmm...as mentioned already staying here is a mixed blessing. Despite being a busy professional Masashi took me out for dinner and showed me some places. This and the funky neighborhood of nakameguro really makes this place worth staying at. The downside is the dirt and dust problem and overall tidiness of the flat. I have decided to work around these problems. So: If you don't like the dust use the vacuum cleaner in the cupboard. If you don't want to use the shower use the next sento (public bath) in 5 Min walking distance: (website hidden) If you can't be bothered to use the kitchen: The Italian place next door has really good focaccia and coffee

  • I had a great stay at Masashi's apartment. Mashashi provided me with clear instructions and a map on how to get from the airport to his home. I love his neighborhood - it has a charm to it, complete with plenty of small shops and restaurants to check out. It's also one subway stop away from the main JR Yamanote line, which gets you to every major area. The best part was having dinner with Mashashi the first night - he is a busy guy (founder/CEO of a startup), and yet still made time to welcome me to Tokyo over dinner. He genuinely loves introducing Japanese culture to foreigners (check out his company (website hidden) highly recommended!).

  • That was my three first days in Tokyo, I'll always remind that. Arigato Masashi for your hospitality the first day, after I agree the apartment is not so clean but Nakameguro is really a awesome district, so much that I'd like to transfert there later (I'm in Suginami now)

  • Masashi is a great host. He took me to some fascinating places during my stay, well beyond what one should expect from someone so tremendously busy. Don't expect spotless conditions at his place (as I should know myself, cleaning is a low-priority task in men-only flatshares). But when it comes to the actual travel experience, he is a blessing. You should also seriously consider booking some of the activities from his website findJPN.com. I did it myself with the vegetarian cooking class and I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of my trip.

  • Masashi and his roommate Oba were great host. Unfortunately, they are both busy professionals thus we rarely got to see one another during the day. However, I had a great time getting to know more about both their occupations as well as their personal interests and endeavors when they were around. The accommodations were as described by other reviewers. A bit dorm-like and untidy here and there but given the price point, it can be understood. The area, Naka-meguro, is extremely convenient and the train station is only 5 minutes away from Masashi's place. Many types of restaurants, convenience stores and little shops litter this swanky area. It is also extremely close to Shibuya, Shinjuku and Roppongi by train.

  • I had a good time staying at Masashi’s pad in Naka-Meguro. It was perfect for a budget traveller, it very close to the train station, and there were plenty of places to eat nearby. Masashi is a fun guy and I had a great time getting to know him. He was very busy with his business ventures during the day, I didn’t mind that as I was always out exploring Tokyo. We did get to meet up at night for dinner, drinks and good conversations. When you meet Masashi’s, ask him about his Tokyo tour service “findjpn.com”. It's a cheap and alternative way to do interesting things in Tokyo with local Tokyo people. I booked many great activities... I got to check out Tokyo University, explore art galleries, and take traditional shamisen and Japanese calligraphy lessons. It made my trip to Tokyo much more memorable, plus I made great friends doing so.

  • Had a good experience at Masashi's place in Tokyo. Room is in a great location close to a metro station at a great price. Masashi was a nice and helpful host, he gave me directions from the airport, picked me up at the station and invited me to dinner on the last night. Don't get your expectations up too high for the actual place. It was messier than I would've liked and the internet wasn't working for the first two days. However, I still believe it's worth it for the price and location alone. It's not like you're going to be staying indoors most of the time anyway. If you're looking for a place to stay in Tokyo on a budget this is the place to start!

  • Everything was perfect! Masashi is a great host, who went out of his way to make me feel welcome, and help me plan activities in Tokyo. I highly recommend staying with Masashi, if you visit Tokyo.

  • Staying with Masashi is a mixed blessing, but overall a very positive experience. Prepare yourself for some of the most excellent hospitality and friendliness you can find through Airbnb in Tokyo, but at the cost of a slightly uncomfortable bed and a slightly unclean kitchen. But who travels for creature comforts? Masashi is a unique resource in Japan. He knows everything there is to do. He helped me take lessons with a blackbelt master (for free even) and helped me out everytime i was in a bind--let me use his office to print out things, and introduced me to his friends. If you're the kind of traveller who goes places to meet people and not to feel "at home" abroad, then this is the place for you. If you're looking to bring your own environment to tokyo, maybe look elsewhere.

  • Masashi was a very pleasant person, but unfortunately the accommodation wasn't very nice. The apartment was very dirty and the bedclothes not really suitable.
