Hi, I am renting out my brand new apartment on the border of East Village and Greenwich Village, its a duplex with 2br 2 bath and a pull out couch in the large living room. Its about 1100 sq ft with two roof decks. Its fully furnished with a high end kitchen and bathroom. Its a 3 flight walkup, top two floors of a townhouse, you have the full top two floors. This is by far the hottest area of Manhattan to live at the moment, the subway N R and 6 is 2 1/2 blocks away, F is 5 short blocks away and L is 8.

The apt comes with fresh sheets and towels as part of the small cleaning fee.

Bosh and GE appliances in the kitchen, big white leather pull out couch and small brown pull out couch, one br has double, other queen bed and there is an extra mattress.

The stove is fixed in the kitchen. There is a TV but its not connected, you will be able to hook up your laptop and see HULU.

Central AC and heat with remote controls for each room. Perfect for visiting NYU (3 blocks away).

Lots of people asking me if its available for certain dates. The calendar in airbnb is accurate, so when it shows availability you can just book it. I know its scary booking stuff on the net but if you want me to give you a call after the booking just specify and I will answer all your questions. I have a non restrictive cancellation policy so if your plans change you can cancel for full refund up to 5 days before.

More questions:

1) Is there onsite laundry in the apartment? Or a nearby laundromat?

yes small in apt wash fold x 2 av

2) I believe the ad said that it's flexible check-in/check-out...is there an absolute time we have to check in by or check out by? In other words, what's the latest we can check in or check out (we arrive in New York at 5:40pm)?

you can leave bags until 9pm in kitchen

3) When does the cleaning lady come? Also, is she optional? Some people are worried about having someone go through their stuff

before u arrive and after u leave. except when you want to check in early. She might not make it there between when the previous person leaves and you check in. so she will come at 5pm and you have to look at dirty towels for a few hours. if this is a big deal and you do want to check in early let me know when you book it and i will make her come at a precise time, but I don't like fighting with my cleaning lady very much, she has cleaned my place for 7 years. Same applies to when you want to check out late, next people will come and you can leave your bags but please be a little flexible.

4) How may sets of keys will we be given? Can we have four sets since some of us will be going in and out at different times?

2 but u can make copies on 7st 2av hw store for 2 dollars. don't buzz all apartments because you forgot keys, call me there is a key in a restaurant and i can arrange for it.

5) If something goes wrong (with the plumbing, electrical or whatever) who do we call? Will we be left someone's contact info?

call me, i have a plumber and carpenter on call. there is a sticker with plumber number on the boilers and water heaters in real emergency. the restaurant on the first floor helps you out.

6) Will you be stopping by the place during our stay? (Some people have read reviews about owners showing up without notice)

no

7) Is there anything we should be aware of? Maintenance issues, noises, bedbugs, weird neighbors....

just dont buzz all apts at 2am. there are no weird neighbors or bedbugs, I promise. I work at a hedge fund and rent the place out when I am out of town so no, I don't live with bed bugs.

ALSO FROM THE RECENT REVIEWS: its very important that when you leave, you leave the keys where I tell you to leave them for the next guest. NOT LOCK THEM INSIDE THE APT. I made three sets of keys and left them at different places for this not to happen again, but it did happen with a guest. IF YOU CHECK IN BEFORE 5pm its fine but be prepared that the apt will get cleaned at 5pm. The upside is that even if you check in at 2am I have a way to leave you the keys. This is my personal apartment, I am not a big management company, so if you need any recommendations please let me know, but also, the other apartments in this area rent for $500 a day and have doormen, this building is my building and does not have a doorman so you cannot get absolutely everything at 2am.

ALSO FROM THE LAST REVIEW: WE HAD A HURRICANE IN NEW YORK so internet didn't work for a week and there was a leak. This is all been perfectly fixed now.

ALSO from the one negative review, if you check in after the next person and there is something wrong you can call me or you can go downstairs to the restaurant, they know how to fix everything. people leave windows open and heat full blast and sometimes the boiler autoshuts off because of that etc. everything is a supereasy fix though.

  • Keith's apartment is a steal! For the same price as a hotel room, you get two floors, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms! The apartment is in a great location and we didn't have any issues with getting the key or with street noise. It is a little wonky in that to get to the apartment, you walk though the first floor apartment's kitchen, up more flights of stairs, and keep going until you reach the final door. Then, open the last door and go up one more flight of stairs. But it's a small price to pay for the space to rest up between eating and sighseeing. Keith was also very easy to communicate with.

  • Great, spacious apartment! Beware the 4 flights of super steep stairs, and make sure to go to the teal front door (there are 2 doors with the same address). There was a little bit of an issue with getting the keys, but Keith and the airbnb staff were great in getting things figured out. There are some great restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, and we loved just walking around in the area.

  • Quirky but interesting apartment with lots of space. Have to walk through the common kitchen for level 1 on the first floor. Not suitable if you cant cope with steep stairs but otherwise a great central spot. Five of us with 3 teenage boys. Relatively safe cosmopolitan neighbourhood (like Newtown in Sydney). Beds weren't configured right (but we found everything we needed to set up). This is a short easy walk to the Metro and around the corner are lots of restaurants and cafes so great to just chill. Seith was easy to deal with and returned emails quickly. Will stay there on our next visit to NYC.

  • This apartment is very spacious and clean (with some wear and tear), and the bathrooms are renovated and big (rare in NYC). The staircase is quite steep but somewhat typical of older walk-up buildings in the city. Location is great and the host is easy to contact and very accommodating.

  • To go to the appartment, from JFK the travel were very simple: only 1 direct way by subway! Then we needed 5-10 minutes to walk to the appartment. When we arrived, we were very satisfyed by the size of the bathrooms, bedrooms & living room. More, beers were available in the fridge ^^. As soon as we arrive we went out to find something to heat : fortunatly very closed to the appartment there were lots of restaurants. My favorite one is "Benny's burritos" (between 2nd & 1st av if I remember). It is very easy to go downtown or uptown by taxi (available in the street) or by subway (5-10 min). Finally, the host was always available by phone or email. It was useful and reassuring. We were all very satisfied by this address. I have already recommended it to my other friends & collegues.

  • My overall experience was really good at Keith's apartment in New York City. The location was great! Trendy, eclectic, and near everything. We could walk to Soho, the lower east side, etc. The apartment, seemed pretty safe, although the main door to the building didn't shut or lock. There was a gate on the outside of the door that DID lock, and a few other doors inside that locked before you made it to our place. The apartment in pretty bare bones. There were 9 girls staying there and we BARELY fit. The two bedrooms upstairs are nice and comfortable and the bathrooms are nice and really clean. Keith provided towels and sheets and extra blankets for the guests. The apartment was clean for the most part. There was some normal wear and tear on the floors and furniture. It seemed as though the pullout couch had not been used in awhile, bc there was some initial dirt on the mattress when we pulled it out. Keith was VERY responsive to my texts and emails and made everything very easy. There were 9 of us, so we made extra copies of the keys to make things easier. It worked out just fine. There is a TV, but it doesn't work. I wasn't sure how to hook it up to make it work, or if that was even possible. All of the other appliances worked. Overall, the stay was GREAT!! I would definitely recommend this apartment. It would be GREAT for a group of 5 or 6. 9 was a little much.

  • Great location, communication with Keith was great and everything worked as expected. There were three of us, and I'd say that unless you're willing to share bed the most people that would live comfortably in this apartment are four. I'm not sure I'd want to be nine here (as the listing says you can be), even with four couples. Having said that, for us this worked perfectly. Great location, everything worked as advertised, Keith is fast with replying to messages and I would definitely stay here again.

  • If you are flexible enough to willingly climb four flights of narrow stairs, then this is a GREAT place to stay. Very nice inside, somewhat worn public furniture, but bedrooms and bathrooms are wonderful. Very clean - very well located - we enjoyed our stay, and being able to spread out w/three adults and two teenagers. Neighborhood very, very safe, old building in good condition....as long as you can climb the stairs :)

  • Great location and apartment was very clean. Lots of flights to go up to get to the apartment and no cable tv but that was clear from when we booked so it was never misleading. Owner was always very responsive when we needed something which was greatly appreciated.
