Rent your own apartment sleeping 4-5 in cool and fun neighborhood East Village.

THE APARTMENT:
This is a very bright, clean space with all white, newly painted walls. Exposed brick wall in the livingroom which gives it an arty feel. Livingroom is decent size for New York standards, which means it fits both a couch and a kitchen table with room for 4. (Remember that apartments in New York in general are smaller than in other cities). The kitchen and bathroom are both almost brand new. Kitchen has a big fridge, stove, oven and microwave. The bathroom comes with bathtub/shower, hair dryer and space for your things.

THE BEDROOMS:
There are two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed (60"/151 cm). The other with a full size bed (54"/136 cm) that also comfortably fits two people. The closets are smartly built between the two bedrooms creating a buffer so there is minimum noise heard between the rooms. They are also big enough to fit all your things and your suitcases so you can put your things away.
Windows facing the street gives lots of light and it's fun to watch the East Village life happening outside.

We provide clean sheets and towels for you.

If you want to you can squeeze in a 5th and even a 6th person if you don't mind the apartment being crowded. The couch/futon is 69"/175 cm so two people who are not very tall could sleep there. There is also a twin mattress that you can put in the second bedroom or on the floor in the livingroom.

THE AREA:
It's the best area in New York in my opinion! Great restaurants, bars and cafés on every corner and some of my absolute favorites are very close by like Latino restaurant/bar "Esperanto" with great food and live music, or cosy German "Zum Schneider" with great beer and a fantastic gulasch! You also have fun Australian "Sunburnt Cow" with an all you can drink brunch menu.

Ave C has less traffic than most avenues in the East Village, but remember that New York never sleeps so ear plugs might be a good idea for light sleepers, especially on weekends when people party late. Tompkins Square Park is just one block away and opposite the apartment there is a green community garden so you can actually see some trees from the window, rare in Manhattan! There is a good priced supermarket and a liquor shop just one short block away.

You can walk easily to bar packed Lower East Side, the shopping on Broadway or transportation hub Union Sqr. The closest subway (1st Ave stop on L line) is 7 blocks away (8-10 min walk) and will take you directly to cool Williamsburg, to Union Sqr or the cosy West Village. It also connects with almost every other subway line in Manhattan. Many buses stop outside the front door.
Laundry drop off is half a block away. Do it yourself is 2 blocks away on Ave B and 11th St.

MORE INFO:
There is no smoking in the apartment. I have maps and guidebooks for you to borrow. There is free wifi in all the apartment for you to use. There is no elevator but this place is only one stair up so no problem when you arrive with your suitcase.

ABOUT PAYMENT:
Many ask about the price and extra fees and how to pay. When you put in the dates and number of people you will get our total cost. There are no taxes or cleaning fees on top of this, but AirBnB adds their fee. It varies between 6-12% on top of our price. The deposit of $200 will be returned to you 48 hours after you check out if you leave the place in good condition according to the house rules. So far we have never had to keep any of the deposits.

All the payments are safely made with credit card to AirBnB when booking. They hold the money until the day you check in and will then transfer it to us.

Bookings with us are done with the "strict" cancellation policy and all cancellations should be done through AirBnB. This being said, if we manage to re-rent the place the nights you have canceled we can give a bigger refund to you than what the strict cancellation policy dictates. The earlier you cancel the bigger the chance that we will find other guests.
