G'Day from Sydney!

Thanks for coming to check out our listing :)
We have another btw... http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/73639 if this one is unavailable
"Sydney City Home with Harbour Views"; our spare room in the attic.

As we were among the first AirBnB'ers in Sydney (travellers + hosts) we've developed quite an extensive profile based on all the guest questions we've answered. Reading through the description, and the "House Rules" (Next tab across from the "Amenities" tab), you'll find all the important information you need... Feel free to send us a message with any question you have about us, our home, Pyrmont, Sydney, or AirBnB... We'd love to hear from you! :D

Please send us a message & say hello *before* you make your reservation request...It'll help speed things up, and smooth things out... oh, and read the bits about check in & check outs :)

  • Your Sydney Home:

  • Amazing views of the Sydney Harbour, White Bay, and Glebe Island
  • Fully self contained, three level terrace house,
  • Only 2 minutes walk from the centre of Pyrmont
  • Just minutes walk from everything Sydney offers

  • Free local phone calls
  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Plus the staples - oils, salts & peppers, vinegars, flours, etc
  • Free use of the laundry: Front load washer and dryer
  • The coolest little dog
  • Because the house is on three levels, and the stairs are steep, we wouldn't recommend the property for people with any mobility issues or for children.

We also have a little dog (a Pomeranian), so again, not recommended for those with allergies or aversions.

We'll provide you with keys, and there's easy (and secure) access, so you can come and go as you please. We work from home, so there's generally always someone around.

    Guest Bathroom (shared):

  • Shower with instant (full pressure) hot water

  • Hair-dryer
  • Towels provided

  • A vast array of hotel shampoos, conditioners, and soaps

  • Forgotten something? We've a little stockpile of toothbrushes, razors, toothpaste, sunscreens, etc that you can grab if you really need them too
  • Pyrmont - An Inner City Village of Sydney:

  • Relaxed community feel with an inner city vibe
  • Think Brooklyn before the Hipsters
  • Pyrmont is only about 2kms from the centre of Sydney

  • Some of Australia's finest dining restaurants within easy reach
  • Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay
  • Exhibition and Convention Centres

  • Pyrmont Point Park
  • Jones Bay Wharf
  • Star Casino - Food Halls, Bars, and the Lyric Theatre
  • Powerhouse Museum

  • National Maritime Museum
  • Best grocer/fromagerie in Sydney (Simon Johnson's)
  • Also a great wine-merchant on the end of our street
  • Fantastic deli Signorelli Gastronomia round the corner
  • Food stores, grocery, and supermarkets

  • Pyrmont Growers Market 1st Saturday monthly; farm direct & artisan foodies
  • Pyrmont was once a thriving industrial waterfront / working port area with ship-building, factories and wool-stores. Over the last decade there's been a considerable influx of new residents and commercial / residential development that has transformed the area into a trendy mix of inner city residents and commercial HQs. For example Goo gle has their Sydney office, the "Goo gleplex" just down the road, as is Fairfax Media, NOKIA, and the Seven Network (TV). Media Production houses, boutique cable TV channels, etc.

The UTS campus, the ABC's Ultimo headquarters (Australia's National Broadcaster), the Sydney Convention Centre, and the Sydney Entertainment Centre, are all within walking distance. Sydney University is about 20 minutes walk away (only 10 mins in a cab or bus).

    Eat, Drink, and be merry:
Being ex-restauranteurs we'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction for a great meal in Sydney. And there's plenty on tap too. You can't walk more than a block in any direction without walking into the front bar of a local pub, or a wine bar, or a great cafe, or restaurant…

To give you an idea, there's seven of Australia's top restaurants within easy walking distance (Quay, Tetsuya, Est., Bilson's, Rockpool, Becasse, & Guillaume At Bennelong).

And with a full range of cafes and restaurants in between, right through to the cheap & cheerful Harry's Cafe de Wheels (a late night Sydney institution), Noodle King, and all the vibrant offerings of Chinatown there's no end of options... Modern Australian, Persian, Goan, Japanese, Indonesian, Malay, Italian, Indian... All at our door

Must do's in Pyrmont include Pyrama, XXII, Gallon, Hannah's Pies, Blue Eye Dragon, Made in Italy, and 1945

Really close - Sydney CBD & the other inner city villages:

  • An easy 10 minute walk into the city centre
  • Shopping: QVB, TGV, etc… "Lacroix Sweetie Lacroix"
  • Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, and BridgeClimb
  • King Street Wharf
  • Museum of Contemporary Art
  • Art Gallery of NSW
  • Sydney Museum
  • Hyde Park
  • Botanic Gardens

  • Chinatown, Paddy's Markets, and the Chinese Gardens

  • Surry Hills
  • Paddington
  • The historic Rocks area
  • Kings Cross
  • CarriageWorks Famers Markets @ Everleigh every Saturday

  • Public transport right at the door - excellent services late into the night (weekends too
)

  • City bus every 10 minutes
  • Trams every 12 minutes
  • Mono-rail (better than Shelbyville's)

  • Ferries from Darling Harbour
 and Circular Quay
  • Trains from Town Hall, Central, and Wynyard

  • Transport options are great: tram, mono-rail, and buses are all pretty much at the doorstep, and a main Sydney City (Town Hall) & train station is only 10 minutes walk away too. Central Station is 15 - 20 minutes walk (5 mins by bus or tram).

    Airports:
The international and Domestic airports are only about 15 - 20 minutes drive away (longer during traffic peaks), again, all easily accessible by public transport too.

We'll send you maps and full details when we confirm your booking.

--> Please send a message before you make your reservation request

--> Please only make a reservation request for the exact (and complete) dates that you require. You can use the Calendar Tab on our listing to see our availability month by month. If the dates you require are not showing as available on that calendar, it's because we're booked for those dates... Sorry :(

--> Please see the "House Rules" Tab for more info & check in details, etc. Best to chat with us about your intended arrival time before you make a reservation request. :)

--> We're much more likely to accept requests from AirBnB'ers with profiles, friends, & recommendations, etc. In the same way you feel more comfortable knowing more about the people you're staying with, we do too. :)

Please just send us a message if you've any questions about staying with us, or visiting Sydney.

    cheers,

    Vinh & Stuart

    • About: G'Day from Australia! He's Vinh, and I'm Stuart... We're big fans of AirBnB having used it when traveling in the USA not long after AirBnB first started. Since then we've enjoyed traveling with AirBnB across the US, around Australia, and also in Vietnam. As guests we're always out & about most of the time and won't be intruding too much. We're neat & tidy and vibrant conversationalists... We're business coaches and small business owners. My partner Vinh is a keen traveler who works a lot with artists and designers in his coaching practice. He's the energetic, vibrant one... I lived in Bolivia for a year as a young man just out of school and have worked in social enterprises and not for profits over the years. I'm the more serious, bookish one (with a wicked sense of humour though). Currently working in financial services too... One of the things we're keen to do is catch up with some social entrepreneurs, not for profits, and microfinanciers, while we're in town... We're particularly interested social enterprise. and small business incubators & mentoring projects. More that happy to answer any questions that you may have. All the best, Vinh & Stuart Sydney, Australia
