Concrete Jungle Bungalow

The room is perfectly pleasant, if a bit ragged around the edges. The location is ideal, right in the middle of State Street, walking distance to everything. No wifi was a bit annoying, as was the inadequate air conditioning. The dealings with the owner were easy. We showed up late - called ahead, of course - and he was accommodating.

We originally requested one of James's other listings, but when it was all booked up, he made us a great offer for this one - and we're really glad we took it! The apartment couldn't be more convenient for downtown shopping, eating, and (especially) drinking. We slept well in the apartment, enjoyed James's food recommendations, and would definitely rent this place again! Absolutely our only complaint was the vagaries of parking downtown, but between garages and James's recommendations, we were just fine for our two days.

James was a great host. Easy to communicate with and very friendly. He even took the time to tell us about great places to check out while in Madison. The room was perfect for what we needed and very comfortable!

This apartment is great - perfect location, close to everything, clean and spacious! It looks just like the pictures. We were very pleased with our visit and were able to easily enjoy our time in Madison by staying in such a great spot. I would definitely stay here again.

The concrete jungle bungalow was perfect for us. We enjoyed being in the middle of a vibrant street, with street musicians, bookstores, great restaurants and a wonderful art museum all just outside the door. Also, James was great, bringing an air mattress for my daughter despite our protestations that it was not necessary. I would stay again.

James and his girlfriend are great-- super helpful, friendly, told us about lots of great restaurants in the neighborhood. The apartment is very clean and a step above the usual college space with nice rugs, plants, and art. The bed is really comfy and the futon's not bad either. BUT THE APARTMENT REEKS OF STALE SMOKE:( I think it's from the hallway not the apartment, and they keep the windows open to air the place out. It's not so bad if you sleep in the bedroom with your head next to an open window, but it's also sort of gross if you don't like smoke.

James has a nice place in a funky neighborhood close to bars and restaurants. The space is large and comfortable. You can walk to the Capital , lakes, or hop on the the bike trails. No local cable television was a bit of an inconvenience for our stay, although we enjoyed the Apple TV.

James' place is ideally located in the hip Willy St. neighborhood: in between the Willy St. Coop and The Weary Traveler and just steps from mouth-watering restaurants. The apartment is spacious, very clean, and absolutely charming. James was a terrific host - very accommodating with check-in and check-out, offered recommendations for spots nearby and things to do, and took time to make sure we were well-situated and comfortable in the apartment. Terrific host & fabulous place - highly recommend and would definitely stay there again!

James was a nice host. Gave me advice on which restaurants to try out and what not. The apartment looks just like in the pictures. The only downside to it was that it gets really noisy at night. You can hear people coming out of the bars, trains going by, etc. However, I'm not 21 yet so I had the stay in. Overall, it was great!

this apartment is wonderful! super comfy bed + futon -- comfortably slept 4. apple tv + netflix are an awesome bonus-- we were able to hook our iphones up so we could listen to tunes. this is just the homiest, most lovely apartment-- i want to live there! great furniture and colors and plants & james' lady set us up very nicely in terms of linens, toiletries, coffee, beer (folks leave beer, you drink it, you purchase more, leave some of yours if you have leftovers-- it's fun). additionally, we were at a coffee shop when the folks from the previous night checked out & james was nearby, so dropped by the shop to give us details-- we didn't even have to meet onsite. know this probably isn't an every time thing, but he totally went the extra mile. feel free to write me if you need additional details. i'd rent from james again for sure!

The apartment we rented from James was great. It was a nice neighborhood within walking distance of two great breakfast spots - Willaby's and Lazy Jane's, great Vietnamese food - Ha Long Bay, a great bar - The Weary Traveler and in general very convenient to any where in Madison that we wanted to get to. A bonus was the Co-Op grocery store on the next block. The place was spacious and relaxing. Nice to be able to hang out.

Comfortable bed, lots of space, great location, awesome host! Walking distance to more then a handful of great restaurants.

This apartment was fantastic! Great vibe, good amenities, and the location is tough to beat. James was really responsive to any questions we had, and was a really helpful host overall. We're looking forward to staying here again next time we're in Madison! :)

We had a great stay. Nice house, close to Madison. The Internet access was great as we were able to stream Netflix movies on the TV (which made up for the lack of cable!). Our dogs also enjoyed the house. Overall a really great stay

I was in town for a couple days on business and wanted an alternative to a hotel. This ended up being the perfect getaway at the end of the day from work. It was a quiet country home away from Madison, but close enough to be convenient to get to and from everything in the area. The house is very clean and comfortable and has all the amenities you need plus a great view in the morning.

James is a good friend. he has stayed with me when in san francisco, and i have also visited him in madison. he is easy-going and smart and i trust him completely!

I vouch for James 100 percent! All around great guy with many eclectic passions. I would be honored to stay at his place, especially if he cooked me breakfast!

I have no issue at all personally vouching for James Ream - just an all-around solid guy who places the comfort of other people ahead of his own.
