  • An extremely good deal, price and location wise. The place is very clean and convenient and the host is very friendly and helpful. We were four friends there and although it is quite small it is well organized. I would stay here if I came back to New York.

  • Thankful to be staying close to the L train and Stephan was an excellent host and super fun! Didn't always feel 100% safe in the part of town we were in, but thankful for the place to stay and the price. Boom.

Safe place to stay at, Stefan's a great host. He'll check in often to see how you're doing, give recommendations and suggestions on where to go. We'll stay there again when we come back to NY

  • Surrounding is not what you expect, but Stefan was the best host I've ever had! He even cooked a complete Thanksgiving dinner for us. Recommend this place to stay and in 15 minutes you're in Manhattan.

  • We had a great stay at Stephan's place, he really is a good host. We liked NY very much and it was nice to have a place to take some rest with our little daughter. Thank you Stephan for telling us the best places to eat pizza and brownies! Good location!

  • Great room, easily slept 3 of us, comfy bunk beds, tv with remote (hehe), very clean apartment, no problem with bugs. Full access to a large kitchen, pots, pans, fridge, toaster, coffee maker etc. and decent shower & bathroom. Stefan is a really friendly & accommodating host, made us feel right at home, he's chatty & very funny, but respectful of guest's privacy. Stefan has useful tips about things to do & places to eat/drink in NYC + posses the best hangover cure in the world (maybe should keep that one secret). Located in the Bushwick area, Comodo is minutes away from the L train station (15 mins from Manhattan) and lots of great local services; cool bars, taco joints, cafe Ghia, health food store, even a cheap 24h dry cleaner. We had an amazing time and are sure to visit Comodo NYC again! Sandy (website hidden) myspace.com/figmentband soundcloud.com/figmentband

  • hey. first of all stefan is a great host who is taking care of everything that might come up. he provides you with all kinds of information aswell. although guests are sharing the bathroom and kitchen with him it's not disturbing or annoying at all. you will find every necessary supply close by in the area and travelling to manhattan only takes about 15 min using the L train. to us the neighbourhood looked kind of sketchy first but it actually really isn't. we had absolutely no problems during our stay and we recommend to stay there with him. thanx for a good time! dagmar & guido

  • 4 young experienced travelers on a budget having a great time. All the stories about Stefan are true. He is an outgoing guy who I'd trust wholeheartedly. Stefan has great information for all types of travelers. IMO, the location will suit those experienced more so than "dreamy" folk who may have higher expectations. I was fine with this place because it was close enough to subway, and close enough to the city. IMO, parking there at first is bit challenging due to the interesting one way streets. Using my GPS would have helped.

  • Stefan is a very gregarious and affable fellow who does the utmost to make you feel welcome. He is super knowledgable about the area and new York in general. The flat is in a very dynamic part of town lots of excellent hispanic restaurants and a generous smattering of hipster bars and restaurants. Wicked coffee shop near Jefferson subway stop and splendid hidden away bar on trout man st (also does incredible breakfasts). The flat itself is rather stuffy the room being tucked away behind the kitchen far away from the window and AC. However the price is so reasonable it is hard to complain. I reckon it would be fine out with the summer months when new York's humidity is at it's most intense.

  • Wonderful stay! Stefan is SO nice and caring. He will give you good advice about the neighborhood and Manhattan. And if you are lucky enough that he happens to cook during your stay, you will enjoy his delicious meals ;-) He likes to receive guests, and it shows! At the same time he is respectful of your privacy. The perfect balance! The place is super comfortable and clean, nicely decorated, and very conveniently located near the L subway line. Go for it!
