As for me, I work and play hard so you won't see me a whole lot. I live in the top 3 floors with my own entrance but am very accessible if you need me. This place is as private as it gets and as nice as it gets for short term stays. (see my reviews)

  • A great place from which to explore Washington. If flying in I suggest use Ronald Reagan rather than Dulles, closer and on the train line. We liked the ease that we were able to go all over Washington. John is very helpful and he and his partner are a delightful couple.

  • The apartment was fantastic. Our host John, really pays attention to details and there was nothing needed in the apartment. Excellent taste in decor, quality furniture and a very secure location, A short two blocks to the Braddock Metro Station and into DC you go. Will surely recommend this apartment to others and look forward to our next stay.

  • Great location and fabulous spot. The bedroom was nice and quiet, and the kitchen well-supplied for making a few delicious meals. Trader Joe's is within walking distance as is the metro.

  • This was the third time I have stayed at John's. He is a fabulous host and the apartment is very well furnished and equipped. Fantastic value for money and I wouldn't stay any where else in Old Town.

  • John proved a thoughtful and considerate host. The apartment was tasteful and impeccably clean. The location in Old Town is proximate to both the Metro and the GW Parkway which provides easy access to the city. The space might prove cramped for more than two people, but is excellent for an individual or couple. An excellent experience.

  • Great place for anybody looking to see DC and the surrounding area. I think it is the perfect place but I especially think it would be great for people visiting the states for the first time that want to see both how life is in the big city and something more suburban. Highly recommended. It was a great way to start life in DC

  • John was there to meet us when we arrived on Friday night. He showed us the condo and explained how everything worked. The condo is very well maintained - clean, modern, very comfortable. It is in a great location - short walk to King Street and the Metro station. We would recommend John and his wonderful place to anyone!

  • What a find! We had a great stay. We felt right at home and will definitely be back. It is a nice walk to Old Town which is a lovely and quaint town on the water. Also close to the metro for an easy trip into the district. Comfy and cozy diggs, wonderful location! Not to be missed.

  • This was our first stay in the Washington area and we found the accommodation to be clean and comfortable, close to the Old Alexandria restaurants and metro station for trips to DC. John welcomed us nicely and we found cheese, biscuits and a bottle of wine in the kitchen.

  • This was my second time staying at John's apartment and was definately as good as the first time. I hvae looked at a number of the rentals in Alexandria on Airbnb and can safely say that John's place is by far the best value fo money in Alexandrai/Old Town. This is a very clean, well equiped and fully furnished one bed apartment and John is a fantastic and helpful host. Could not be better and cannot recommend highly enough.

  • About: Greetings! I am a native Alexandrian and have lived in the Old Town area for many years. As you may have read or heard, It's a great place to live. Especially since I have my parents, siblings and a ton of friends from high school and post college to support me locally. Anyway, I purchased this contemporary and spacious 4 level townhouse a few years ago and decided to convert the first floor into a self contained apartment. It has separate entrances in the front and back foyers. Up until last fall, I've had the same tenant occupy the studio apartment below. Luckily for me, she was a great tenant, however, recently she got married and eventually transitioned out of the place. While deciding what to do about the empty rental, I heard about AirBNB through a friend and reluctantly, decided to change my rental into a "bed and breakfast". Once I made the decision, I made some retrofits, painted the place, bought some furniture and had it modernly decorated to my taste. Well a year and half or so later, I have to admit, so far I have not regretted my decision. I have met so many nice people coming from all parts of the world (Germany, England, Australia, Turkey, West Coast, East Coast and in between) and have built some solid friendships. It's been truly a pleasant surprise. During the day, as stated in my profile, I'm a Commercial Banker for an International Bank based in the UK and work out of our DC Office. After work, when I'm not with friends or family, I'm quite involved with a few non for profits, as I sit on their boards or leadership committees. Work also requires me to attend numerous business and networking events. In addition, I'm also an avid cyclist, runner, and fitness freak. I say all this because, I'm not around much and when I am around, usually multi-tasking for a bit then in bed at a reasonable time. As you may have read in my reviews thus far, I'm very accessible when needed but generally invisible most of the time. I'm also of a mind set of providing the best customer service to my AirBNB customers as a basic principle. I have set up my place downstairs to what I would expect if I were traveling. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Sincerely, Johnny
