This renovated mid-century - located approximately 5 miles from downtown Austin - is a terrific home base for any visitor.
This spacious home, built in 1969, has been extensively renovated and features an expansive open living space: large living room, sun room, dining area, and fully equipped modern kitchen. There's also a laundry with washer/dryer, large shaded backyard, cable TV (in living as well as the guest suite), and wireless internet throughout the house.
Guests enjoy a private bedroom (queen bed) with updated ensuite bath as well as all shared living areas of the home described above: living room, sun room, kitchen, laundry, backyard. Single space in the garage is available or (as most guests prefer) there is easy driveway parking.
Interaction with guests
Common areas of the house are shared with me and my dog, so some interaction is inevitable. Beyond that, interaction can be as much (socialize) or as little (treat the experience like a hotel) as you like.
Other things to note
Dogs are allowed but only on a case-by-case, pre-approved basis. Inquire if interested.
The entire home (not shared) is available for periods of 3 weeks or longer (but is NOT a bargain!!). Inquire if interested.
Guests are expected to treat the home (and its furnishings) with respect. Smoking is not permitted in the house and dogs (no cats, sorry) are only allowed on a case-by-case, pre-approved basis.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
I recently moved to Austin from NYC. I work way too much (from home or traveling) and am trying to improve my work/life balance. My interests: outdoor activities (especially those that can include my dogs), music, theater, design, cable news, good food/beer/scotch, film (especially classics), and bad TV.
I decided to host on AirBnB to make better use of my space with all airbnb proceeds dedicated to the home's renovation and maintenance. As an added bonus, it's been great meeting an extremely diverse range of people with whom I'd never cross paths otherwise.
I'm eager to make the experience of staying in my home positive, welcome suggestions and critique from guests, and look forward to being your host.
