There is an ice making fridge, all beds king size or super king, all rooms equipped with their own ensuite with beautifully tiled open showers.

Local resorts ..shopping 25 mins away...short boat trip across protected waters to the island.

Sekoula lodge is sited on a secluded, beautiful Fijian island with easy access...this is not a busy tourist area and somewhat off the beaten track. Private and peaceful..cooled by the trades..but facing the sunset..the location is outstanding. Where life revolves around the tides, the sun and the stars.

Guest access

Full access to the property and home (with the exception of the generator room - please advise Seva if you encounter any issues with power).

Interaction with guests

Our managers name is Seva and he and his wife look after our guests. Please direct all enquiries, post arrival to Seva. He's a great guy, and incredibly helpful.

The neighborhood

Quiet, undisturbed setting amongst other private holiday homes all beautifully landscaped and maintained. Locals are extremely helpful, swimming is safe, snorkelling is easy, walking is unimpeded in terms of freedom to walk the entire island if you wish.
Beach at the edge of the property. .. both front and rear.

Getting around

No public transport... you're on a small island in the middle of nowhere..! But if you want to explore the mainland, transport can be easily arranged by the locals. Just ask.

Other things to note

The house has 24 wind/solar power. So power is free, but weather dependent. Please exercise commonsense regarding the power. Seva is fully knowledgeable regarding the power but please try to avoid long showers, hairdryers, or lights left on. Should you require the generator, the petrol is at your cost. Power generation is optimized, and we rarely run out of power, but it can happen!

The wi-fi provided is prepay. 8 GB is provided, but should you run out its an easy process to use your credit card to top it up.

We recommend you restrict your data use to emails and web browsing. Movie downloads are not recommended, however there is a HD with over a thousand movies on it provided.

House Rules
Not suitable for pets
Check in is anytime after 12PM (noon)

The wind/solar system is strictly off limits. The inverter is set to efficient parameters and must not be tampered with under any circumstances. There is a generator provided to power the house if there is inclement weather.
Tampering of the system can result in serious damage and irretrievable loss of battery performance. Please contact SEVA by phone should you need to top up the power or if you have a power failure.
Remember.... this is "island time". A night time power failure normally means an early bedtime.!!
There is no use of candles or naked flames permitted in the house. Please keep in mind THERE IS NO FIRE BRIGADE ON THE ISLAND.

If you're looking for a tropical island paradise, this is it. We had an incredible week staying here and would have extended our stay in a heartbeat if work hadn't been calling us back. We spent most of the week relaxing in the water, admiring the stunning views, lounging on the beach just down the stairs from the house, and leaving the island only to go scuba diving at the dive shop a 10-minute boat ride away -- and enjoying Varni's delicious cooking, especially the fresh fish prepared in lemon with fresh, hand-pressed coconut milk. The house is situated on the tip of a tiny (~20 house) island with no roads. There are completely undisturbed beaches on both sides of the house, a literal stone's throw away in either direction. The water and views are spectacular. The house is large, with a great kitchen, living room area, porch, and three very comfortable bedrooms. Jenny went above and beyond with offering to help arrange various parts of our trip for us, and Seva and Varni were wonderful. Seva was very accommodating, taking us to the main island in his boat (for 50 FJD per one-way trip). Varni cooked three incredible meals for us. This is a perfect place to stay for couples looking for a romantic getaway, families looking for a safe, comfortable place to relax together, and divers looking for an excellent place to come home to after a day of beautiful dives with Dive Wananavu (highly recommended for Open Water Diver and Advanced courses, as well as general diving -- the staff is fantastic). Tips: you feel very remote being on this island. Making a trip to town is half a day's adventure so Jenny recommended we buy most of our groceries for the week at the supermarket near the airport. I'd recommend doing that as well, though also be sure to ask if she or Seva can arrange to get some fresh fish from their local place for you. If you have an opportunity to try one of Varni's meals, say yes as quickly as you can. On another note, Jenny also recommended getting a SIM card at the airport. It was very useful for calling her and Seva, as well as the dive shop and other activities we were interested in checking out. I'd also recommend taking out a fair amount of cash in Nadi, as there are no ATMs that are convenient to get to from the house. Finally, note your flight arrival and departure times. It takes 2.5 hours to get from the airport to this house and you can only really do it during the daytime. We ended up having to stay in a hotel in Nadi (Jenny was kind enough to arrange the reservations for us) on the first and last nights of our trip because we were flying in too late and out too early to make the trip to Nananaru-i-Ra on the same day.

Response from Jennifer:
Many thanks Evan for a lovely review. Varni and Seva were delighted. Makes all their hard work so worthwhile. Your notes for me were definitely helpful and will take care to ensure other guests are aware of flight times etc. Also the cash situation is not one we have come across previously so will also ensure we mention that in future bookings. Hope all goes well for you and your group. Kindest Regards, Jenny

Jen and David's place in Nananu-I-ra is an island paradise. The house is right at the tip of the island and has amazing views of the sea out both sides of the house. The house is lovely and spacious with all the mod cons you need and a really well equipped kitchen. Nananu-i-ra is very private - we had the beach to ourselves. The trip to the island takes about three hours which was really enjoyable- stopping off at the local markets for supplies. There are no shops on the island so you need to take everything with you. Jen was really helpful and arranged our airport pickup and boat transfer. Everyone was lovely and friendly. Really recommend this place for a getaway from it all holiday. You feel a million miles from anywhere- completely relaxing. The photos don't do the place justice.

Great place to wind down. Seva who looks after the house is very competent and he is also a great guide to explore the island by boat. Being on a remote island and self sufficient the house offers everything. The location is perfect for young children or anyone who seeks a quiet holiday.

We clearly regret the presence of a wee mice choosing to visit during your stay. It is only an intermittent problem We do what we can. Food left out on benches doesn't help. They ignore simple mice traps so we use Rat glue. It's the only thing we w had success with. As to the personal items..we clear a drawer for guest own use and remove a good deal of our personal items. Things left behind are intended for guests use if necessary. Medical things, soap shampoo, new toothpaste etc in case guests don't remember theirs. However we will take onboard Marc's comment for future guests.

We had a wonderful stay at Sekoula Lodge on Nananu-i-ra thanks to Jenny (owner) and Seva (on-site manager and boatman). Communications were clear and swift - initially through email (AirBnB) and later by phone. Transport to the island was with private boat which gave a special start to what was going to be a restful and most enjoyable holiday. The usual settling in questions were handled by Seva who also provided us with transport to near reefs for snorkelling - an amazing aspect of this destination. Sekoula Lodge is a very nice, peaceful, bright, comfortable and tidy 'home' with stunning views! Great place for a couple or family.
