Great experience, very easy to check in and out. Nice apartment, was much better than getting a hotel. A bit warm without AC, but most days were fine. Would definitely go back.

A modern apartment in a convenient central location with great amenities in the building (jacuzzi, pool, gym etc). The apartment itself is very small, in particular the living space, and the kitchen is minimally equipped with crockery, glassware etc, so this would not be the best option for someone who wants ample lounging space or to be whipping up gourmet feasts. As a simple and comfortable base for a visit to Vancouver, however, it worked well.

Great location and owner very accommodating.Loved the many, restuarant and food market options at our doorstep. Beds comfortable, but need better quality sheets, duvets (and towels)

Shawn was a great host and very easy to communicate with if you need anything, also extremely accommodating.The place is a great location, nice and tidy, and has all the amenities you could need. I would definitely stay here again, thanks Shawn!

nice place. it's close to downtown and there's a mall across the street which makes a lot of things easier. we also enjoyed the pool and sauna in the building.

The host canceled my reservation 34 days before arrival.

Cancellation on a Friday afternoon AFTER receipt of payment @3pm knowing the renter has arrived at the destination city renting a motel room just to accommodate the landlord's schedule of 1 day after arrival for availability. He apologized and claimed he overrbooked, and didn't know the previous resident wanted to stay. Not the best way to build confidence and trust. Book at your own risk.

The room is good size for one person and Shawn is very friendly and kind. It's easy to get to down town. I enjoyed the stay.

10 min walk to Skytrain, and then 10 mins into the City Centre from there. Basement flat with no natural light, but there are tons of lamps and everything is white so it doesn't feel gloomy. Lovely having lots of space, I am a convert to staying in a flat while on holiday!

It is small room that serves it purpose, internet good, bathroom is small (no separate shower stall), walking distance to Skytrain, bus stops close, quiet area, and I would stay again if I needed a room.

A great place to stay, quiet and pretty close to Van City on the Subway. Shawn was great to deal with and really delivered. Good value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Modern Studio Appartment at 24 Ave E, Vancouver. The Studio was well furnished and in a very nice and calm area. Shawn was very nice and gave us some helpful tips. We absolutly recommend this place. Nadja and Pascal from Switzerland

We just stayed for a long weekend at Shawn's place near Oak St, celebrating my GF's birthday. Overall it was a pleasant stay, and we were thrilled to have such an easy and well-located base for exploring Vancouver. For our first time in the city it was a fantastic experience. The neighborhood was safe, and nice enough -- a little too quiet for me, but a good residential area. The house even boasted a nice little veggie garden, though the back patio was a little sterile. We discovered good Indian and Chinese shopping and food options within a short drive as well as being reasonably close to downtown, made more convenient by the Skytrain station a few blocks east. A local phone is provided (shared with the owners upstairs), which is a big help if your cel plan doesn't include international roaming. As mentioned by others it is humid -- they ask that you leave the bathroom fan on -- but in good weather it was ok, especially with the windows open. There was laundry available, but we didn't require it -- if you do, plan to only use it on Tuesday/Saturday! Shawn was helpful with suggestions, and responsive to concerns about my first AirBnb rental. A few negatives, offered bluntly as constructive criticism. First of all, the beds were a serious issue. They are pretty short, which wasn't a problem, but also quite uncomfortable. I personally like a hard mattress, but as far as we could tell these were actually box-springs. For my GF and her mother, who prefer a softer bed, it caused significant discomfort; we noticed this at check-in, but as non-business travelers we weren't prepared to cancel the stay and find a hotel, especially as expensive as those are in Vancouver. Piling up pillows and blankets did something to help, but there's only so much you can do with a stiff bed. Perhaps it's just our soft American ways :) Some warning about the comfort of the beds would have been helpful in planning our trip -- most likely we would not have chosen to stay here -- or a fairly inexpensive change of mattresses could make it more acceptable for international travelers. Secondly, the photos don't make clear how low the ceilings are in this basement. We didn't have a problem (we're pretty short!), but it could cause some people to feel misinformed. Thirdly, the phone was not working when we arrived and we had to let someone in to work on it. It's good that the owners seemed to notice the problem before we did, but I would have hoped to have the work done between visitors. All that said, I was very happy with our stay. Vancouver was, of course, beautiful. Location, cost, furnishings...everything felt like travel, but still fun and easy. A little more information up front could have made everything smoother, but Shawn should be proud of how he runs this place. With a little more effort on those little things, others will see just how nice it is here.

We had great time in Vancouver, and staying with Vancouver West Living had a lot to do with it. Shawn was always on time (even when we weren't!), professional and thoughtful - he even printed out the directions to the ferry for us on our last morning. The apartment was clean, efficient and well-located. We would not hesitate to stay with Vancouver West Living again! Kate, San Francisco

Shawn was very uncomplicated and also the host Steven was very kind and helpful. The location is a basement suite that is well equipped and in a good location, in walking distance to the subway with direct connection to downtown Vancouver. Everything perfect with a very good offering for that price. As the location is a basement suite, it used to be a bit humid in the appartment. But fortunately we had always very good weather.
