LIGHT FILLED SPACE
Live in our elegantly furnished atelier on your next visit to Paris. This duplex artist atelier, in the 14th arrondisement, overlooks the historic Montparnasse Cemetery (where you can visit Simone de Beauvoir and Sartre's graves among many others). In the main room, the windows reach the two-story high ceiling filling the atelier with south and western light throughout the day. The apartment is quiet and close to the city centre and is a short walk from the Denfert Rochereau metro station, where you also will find the RER that will take you directly to any of the Parisian airports.

It is a most healing and productive space. The one you go to, to reinvent your life, write a book, make a baby. The karma is perfect. There is a long history in this space filled with creativity, love, and all the romantic narratives one can expect from Paris. This apartment building is where Simone de Beauvoir lived for the last 30+ years of her life.

There is one large bedroom upstairs and an additional sleeping alcove off the main room so that the atelier accommodates two to four persons comfortably. The space has recently been renovated with a fully equipped kitchen (dish washer, digital stove, and washing machine) as well as a new bathroom. It has cable TV and high speed internet access through a wireless network (airport).
There is also a large flat screen Apple monitor and HP printer in an "office" area. All you need to bring is your laptop and you're set to work.

Short term and long term stays available. Shopping and in-house cooking can be arranged for an additional fee. 1 week minimum stay.

LOCATION
A shopping area to meet all your needs is a block away on Rue Daguerre, with its unique outdoor market, fabulous patisseries, cheese shops, restaurants and beauty salons. A short walk in the other direction brings you to the Cartier Fondation art gallery on the Boulevard Raspail. And if you walk down the Boulevard, you are very quickly at the Carefour Vavin where you find La Coupole, Le Select, and all the cinemas you wish.

  • We just completed our 10 days in Paris at Alison's Atelier. It was everything the description and the prior reviewers said it was and so much more. The feel of the space is wonderful. Alison and Berna were completely welcoming and helpful. The stay was problem-free, and the local shopping made a seamless fit into French life. We couldn't be happier and would love to return to this wonderful space again and again. Thank you for making this possible!

  • Alison's place is fantastic! The apartment itself is something special - very high ceilings and lovely decor; there's a rustic feeling to it, and I was delighted to find out when I arrived that this apartment house is where Simone de Beauvoir lived for the last 30 or so years of her life. I stayed about two weeks in the apartment, most of which was spent writing a book. What great inspiration this provided! The apartment is just across from the Montparnasse cemetary, the large hedgerow surrounding it provides a quiet, green environment and a feeling of some seclusion. With Rue Daguerre nearby, there are plenty of great restaurants and cafes, cheese and wine shops -- everything you could need. The metro is also just a few minutes walk. I couldn't have been happier with my stay. Enjoy yours!

  • experience was great. it really is an amazing house, huge ceilings, amazing view in a very historical part of paris.amazing organic gourmet food market very nearby. Full of light. You can always contact Berna and Melvin who are there to help with any trouble you might be having. super high speed internet. incredible furniture, windows, light and location.youll be neighbours to the late great sartre and simone de beauvoir as well as look into the montparnasse cemetery where serge Gainsbourg is buried. alison is very friendly and easy to reach and has a great selection of photogrpahy books.
