  I loved staying at Leesaw & Chad's darling home! My lovely room was perfect with a comfy bed, ceiling fan, and private bathroom. Beautiful decoration throughout their home. The map & recommendations provided were great! Also loved having use of the cruiser bike and getting to see the Bywater from a new angle. The dogs, Mississippi and Henry Miller, were so sweet, and their visits to my room just added to the homey feel. Just make sure you leave enough time to get to the airport; my 5am cab was 1/2 hour late. But I still made my flight, and thank Leesaw for a great stay!

  Lees' space is the quintessential NoLa experience. Her house is immaculate and has all the otherworldly class, style, and heart you'd hope to find in such a unique city. I loved the clawfoot soaking tub in my adjoining bathroom, the super-luxurious towels, and the proud rooster outside my window.

  Leesaw's home is warm, inviting, and well-loved, and I truly enjoyed staying there! This is my second time staying with Leesaw. I've stayed in both her guest house and in the bedroom, and I love both of them. Both have charming details like homemade quilts and hand painted desks. The bedroom has a beautiful, large, sunny bathroom with a clawfoot tub and a private entrance. The guesthouse is detached and in the garden, and it has a gorgeous slate shower and a kitchenette for coffee and tea-making. The Bywater is a wonderful base to explore New Orleans. Leesaw's home is away from the noise of the French Quarter, but within biking distance of the sights. I was thrilled to have the complimentary use of Leesaw's adorable beach cruiser! The home is within walking distance of great restaurants like the Joint in the Bywater and biking distance of nightlife in the Marigny. Taxis in New Orleans are relatively inexpensive, so we opted to take cabs to spots further afield like Cochon and the Roosevelt Hotel. Leesaw is an ideal host. She is communicative and responds quickly to questions. Leesaw cares a lot about her guests, which is evident in her recommended list of local restaurants and in the non-obtrusive way that she checked in just to see if we were comfortable. I would highly recommend staying with Leesaw in either of her available spaces.

  Leesaw is such a wonderful, kind, accomodating, and hospitable hostess! I had a horrific travel experience from Philly to New Orleans and American Airlines lost my luggage as well. Leesaw not only was super understanding, but she also lent me some clothes and toiletries...and even gave me some water and fruit upon my arrival to make sure I was ok! Her home is amazing with a very laid-back atmosphere, and very close to the quarter. Leesaw provided directions and lots of helpful tips...and the pups are adorable as well! She made what could have been a very bad experience a MUCH more pleasant and enjoyable one. I highly, highly recommend her place as a great, cost-effective alternative to the overpriced hotels in the Quarter.

  When I was informed via email that I could access the room I was staying in through a red door guarded by blooming lemon trees, I was certain that I had found the right place. This turned out to be one of a handful of charming features at Leesaw & Chads place that had nothing to do with their visually stunning neighborhood with it's pockets of shops & restaurants perfect to discover on the cruisers they lent us. It was my girlfriend and my first time to New Orleans and I can't imagine not taking bikes into the French Quarter from this distance. It is the perfect build-up and the continuity is strangely perfect. The room is all you need whilst staying here as you will be on the go most of the time anyways and a comfortable bed is what you want (and will find) at the end of the day. A beautifully tiled bathroom and claw foot tub turns out to be what you need also and a river breeze that brings in the sun and the sounds of the passing barges through the bedside window seems excessive but you'll have it anyways. Chad & Leesaw were exceedingly kind and have created a wonderful environment for visitors. They included personalized maps of the city with recommendations and seemed to have the hosting business down to a simple science. I am extrememly grateful to have found this place as well as to have met this couple. There is no question about my return to their home the next time I am in the city.

  We really enjoyed our stay with Leesaw! The room and attached bathroom was everything we needed for our two night stay in New Orleans. We loved using the bikes to get around the city - the French Quarter is only a short ride away and Leesaw provided us a map with the best bike routes. Was also nice to have a kitchen we were free to use. Overall perfect for our trip!

  I felt very welcome in the Chad and Leesaw's home. Chad even left out different tea bags for me each morning because I told him I preferred tea. My room and the bathroom were clean with fresh linens.

  I had a wonderful stay with Leesaw and Chad at their beautiful Bywater home. The house itself is amazing. It definitely gives you a different sense of what this city used to be. My hosts were awesome. They helped me unload my things, hooked me up with a realtor, and even let me stash my stuff in the room for an extra day while I got set up in a new space. I was a little worried about renting a room in someone's house but it really felt like having my own place. Leesaw and Chad gave me plenty of space and I'd definitely stay here again. Basically, this is the place to be if you're interested in getting a new look at New Orleans.

  From the cute little dogs (Mississppi and Henry Miller), the quiet back yard, the fragrant smell of the blossoming lemon tree, and the wonderful, almost rustic cottager, everything was absolutely wonderful. Leesaw was a wonderful host - she had detailed maps with suggestions on places to eat, drink and visit. Located on the border of the Bywater and Lower 9th Ward districts, my wife and I always felt safe. The neighborhood was friendly and people were willing to help us with directions whenever we asked. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place off the beaten path.

  Leesaw's home is very impressive. You can see the work and dedication that our host has put into restoring her house. Because tit has been so well loved, it was a pleasure to stay in. The house was spacious and private enough for four guests. We were able to comfortably share the two bathrooms. I hope that she didn't mind that my mom cannot resist rearranging trinkets and furniture, but I do appreciate that Leesaw does not charge a cleaning fee if the home is left in tidy shape. There is plenty to look at in the home--Leesaw has beautiful art on the walls and interesting tchotchkes on the tables and mantles. I was so impressed by the large sized doors and the high ceilings. Our first morning in New Orleans, we got up early to run errands at a conveniently close drugstore and grab coffee. We used the bikes and found the ride to be a pleasant way of exploring the Bywater. When riding through the neighborhood, we found an amazing non-profit architectural salvage yard right down the street. Later on our way to the Quarter, we noticed a number of arts non profits and even a large art complex on our drive. The neighborhood definitely has an eclectic bohemian vibe. We had some funny experiences with cabbing to and from the French Quarter. On a rainy afternoon, the fella who took us home for a mid-day rest said that he "knew we were not tourists" when we were headed to the Bywater. He pointed out some local food joints. On the other extreme, another cab driver who took us home after an evening wedding (when we were dressed to the nines) looked puzzled. "You're not from here, are you? Don't walk." We shrugged and enjoyed the rest of the night on the quiet porch, bewildered by his cryptic message. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful in the wee hours of the night. People were friendly enough as we rode the bikes around during the day to get coffee. We all enjoyed staying in a new area of New Orleans. It's not full of the fantasy plantation-style homes that you typically find in the Garden District or Uptown, but the beauty is apparent and unexpected. I would recommend this for folks who have a familiar sense of New Orleans or those who generally enjoy staying in less 'touristy' areas while traveling.   We enjoyed our stay at the cottage so much. Leesaw was very communicative and helpful before and during our stay. Given that we were renting a car while in New Orleans, we felt that the location and value of staying here were ideal for our needs. When we first arrived to check in, we were taken aback by the neighborhood simply because it was dark and many houses looked boarded up and abandoned. (This is the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, still visible in many neighborhoods in NO.) When we found our host's house, however, it was beautifully maintained and the cottage in the back quite comfortable and modern, yet with an old-fashioned sensibility appropriate for this historically rich city. If you like avoiding the sterile feel of a hotel and have a car, this would be a good place for you. It is just like staying in a real house; we did find a few critters in our cottage during our stay, but that's no different than being at home, and so much better and more real than a hotel experience. We enjoyed using the Brita filters to fill up our water bottles and saved money on beverages that way. We loved having access to the bikes, especially the one with the basket in which we stored our treasures accumulated during the day. We parked our bikes on the edge of the French Market and from there began our explorations of the French Quarter. It took us about 15-20 minutes to bike the route Leesaw outlined for us. So convenient, although on nights we would be coming home late, we didn't have the guts to bike in the dark. I would recommend this cottage to others. And I'm in love with New Orleans!

  Leesaw's house was great for our Jazz Fest krewe. The house was very clean and and well maintained, even has air conditioning. All the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out and with 5 of us taking showers we never ran out of hot water. We had 2 cars and parking was no problem. Leesaw was very accommodating and communicating was easy. This was the perfect place for a Jazz Fest home base! Thank you Leesaw! Ed

  Leesaw’s hospitality along with her great apartment made for a very FUN stay in New Orleans! The apartment was exceptional – clean, comfortable, impressive kitchen, and handy to have washer & dryer. Location is ideal – a safe location with central access to all sorts of wonderful places. Walk out the door and stroll through the French Quarter, cross the street and explore Treme, or hop on bikes and ride to Jazz Fest or Frenchman in five minutes. Leesaw was always helpful, and very easy to get in touch with. I would recommend Leesaw as a host to anyone coming to New Orleans.

  Darling cottage behind a classic New Orleans home. The Bywater is a very interesting part of town,definitely affected by Katrina and still in a rebuilding phase, but we loved it. The bikes are a great option to get around town, we biked to Jazz fest every day and loved seeing all the cool architecture and funky artist's studios that abound in the Bywater and the Marigny. A couple of good restaurants are nearby, Elizabeth's and The joint for BBQ. You will get a insight into the real New Orleans staying in a neighborhood, that you wont staying in a hotel in the tourist zone.

  Had a great stay here. As described, it's tucked away but near great spots. I'd recommend renting a car if you stay here and plan on exploring the far reaches of the city but it's not necessary. Lees was lovely, accomodating and helpful.

  A lovely spot. quiet and comfortable with a nice backyard. It was great having bikes there to use and see New Orleans by bike. Leenow was very helpful about places to eat and roads to bike on and was easily available to us. I highly recommend it. Mary
