Second time staying at Tom's place. Is excellent for those who want a clean, quiet location near Stanford and surrounding community in Los Altos. Tom is a cool host who is very accommodating with his place. I"ll be back again.

Lovely private room with babbling creek and easy access to Stanford campus. Tom was great.

Tom's place was just perfect for my business trip. Easy to find with nice access to some running trails that I enjoyed. The space is quiet and cozy, just what I needed to get some work done and get a restful night. Tom was a great host and I look forward to staying again!

Totally unique, secluded property. Very clean. Running stream below the property. Really good work desk to spread out your work. Really enjoyed my stay.

Great location if you are working anywhere near the hospital. The backyard patio area is a great place to hang out, especially when CA has water and the creek is running. Also, the stereo setup in the room is a nice touch.

Stop right here. If you're reading this, then make the reservation first, then continue reading. I'm not kidding. Staying with Tom is excellent, bar none. As a host - Tom is "bend-over-backwards" accommodating, and is genuinely interested to help out. I feel like he might say "every stranger is a friend you haven't met yet". He's inclusive like that. The room is beautiful, clean, comfortable and has lots of windows for natural light. You will be staying next to a wonderfully peaceful babbling creek, with lots of trees and a garden just around the corner. While I didn't get a chance to use a mountain bike (came here for business during the week), Tom fired up the hot tub for me(!) It was like staying with family, I kid you not. If you do business or visit Palo Alto often, I recommend staying here first over hotels, and maybe even with family. Family is good. Tom's place might be better. Go make the reservation! You won't be sorry.

I stayed in Tom's cottage for two weeks after returning from a research trip and waiting to move into my own apartment. I used Tom's bike to go to the Stanford campus almost every day--it's a pleasant 20-minute bike ride. The cottage itself is somewhat rustic yet cozy. Bathroom and kitchenette are in the main house, two steps away from the cottage entrance. The shower is pretty great! I made sandwiches and kept cereal in the kitchenette, but it is not equipped to make elaborate meals. (There's a microwave, but I didn't use it.) Tom is super nice and easy to deal with--he responds quickly to texts and is there if you need to borrow something. I used his hot tub and the laundry room. I didn't always have cell phone reception in the bedroom and, unfortunately, it was raining a lot during my stay--I nonetheless greatly enjoyed it, but I imagine the place is even better when it's sunny and you can sit outside on the patio in front of the cottage. I recommend Tom's place and would happily stay there again.
