My sister in law and I planned a girls weekend and our stay at Smithmore Castle was an unforgettable experience. The castle itself, with its rich history, was absolutely fascinating. From the moment we booked, communication with the staff and concierge was quick and efficient, making our check-in seamless.

The castle grounds were breathtaking. We took the staff's suggestion and enjoyed a delightful horseback riding excursion at nearby stables. Our room was wonderful, featuring an incredibly comfortable bed and excellent shower pressure. The towels were plush, the bed linens were cozy, and the amenities were more than ample.

But what truly sets Smithmore Castle apart is the 5-star dining experience. Chef Ben's dinner and breakfast were out of this world. The staff were attentive, and the dining experience felt incredibly personal. You don’t stay at Smithmore Castle just to “stay at a castle”; you stay for the incredibly thoughtful and luxurious castle experience. 5-stars all around!!

We had the castle to ourselves for our stay. It was very private, with excellent service, serene mountain scenery, and beautiful food. We have recommended to our friends and family.

Staying at the Smithmore was phenomenal. Unlike most rentals, you are getting 5-star breakfast and dinner made in-house by Chef Benjamin, complimentary wine and drinks, and a personal assistant. We arrived in the middle of a rainstorm and Bradford, the footman, took care of all of our bags for us while we had champagne and a tour of the castle. Make sure that you take the time to book some activities - whether it's tea time, a massage, horseriding at Springmaid mountain, or archery lessons. And be sure to ask Sir Carslile for some chocolate.

It is worth noting that Chef Benjamin prepared the best cheesecake I have ever had in my life. Sorry, mom.

An absolutely gorgeous castle. I proposed to my fiancé here, and they were all aware this would be happening and gave us an amazing experience. Our room was gorgeous, we participated in archery, a coffee tasting and a hike which were all phenomenal. We would absolutely return, and highly recommend this place to anybody considering it.
