Host of the Year

To Carla, who has lived in Northern NSW for the past 20 years, Hosting is more than just an income, it is a passion brought to life. Carla cooks breakfast for all her guests each morning in her serene environment with stunning views and her outstanding hospitality has earned her the award of 2022 Host of the Year.

"Hosting for me is about putting everything into a stay that I would want to experience on my travels."
— Carla
Alstonvale, New South Wales

Most Unique Stay

Designed by Australian artist and architect, Richard Goodwin, the Winged House is cantilevered over a cliff at Table Cape overlooking the sea, with a monoplane wing installed as the roof.

“As you drive into the property you think it's a giant moth or bird poised to take off. From the inside, guests enjoy a 180-degree perspective of dramatic seascapes.”
— Quentin
Table Cape, Tasmania

Best Nature Stay

The Container is nestled in Lilydale, 20 minutes from Launceston, in the heart of the Tamar Valley. Susie and Gordon wanted to ensure their Airbnb encompassed nature from the outside in and lead the way in sustainable travel to bring an authentic sustainable experience to their guests' stays.

“We want to demonstrate that living sustainably doesn't mean without style or in luxury.”
— Susie
Lilydale, Tasmania

Best New Host

The Little Seed's Hosts, Peter and Charlie, pride themselves on offering a beautiful and memorable stay for their guests and have found as new hosts simplicity is the winning formula.

“As regular Airbnb guests ourselves we knew it was the simple and little things that really make the difference during your stay. This is why we want our own guests to have the same luxury and welcoming experience that we love from the very start.”
— Peter
Franklin, Tasmania

Best Designed Stay

Coombs Hill Barn is a lovingly restored and rebuilt 160 year old American Barn overlooking the pristine Delatite Valley. Over 3 years, the owners Katherine and Wade, dismantled the original structure in Indiana USA and shipped it over to be rebuilt in Victoria’s High Country, along with designing the interior of the home themselves.

“The aesthetic of the barn can be best described as a perfect combination of traditional, rustic and industrial.”
— Katherine
Merrijig, Victoria

Most Magical Experience

Paul is a master at taking his guests on a kayaking adventure along a secluded part of Lake Weyba in Noosa on the way to the everglades. A calm and relaxing journey through nature, with a chance to spot sea eagles and stingrays in their natural habitat, Paul’s passion is evident the entire time.

“My Airbnb kayaking experience is all about showcasing my passion for the environment and creating opportunities for guests to authentically connect with local wildlife and each other.”
— Paul
