Does Airbnb screen users?
We currently do not formally screen users of Airbnb. We do, however, have a few items in place to help you make a decision that fits your own comfort level. Each member of the Airbnb community has the opportunity to complete a profile, including a profile photo and information about them. If a user is missing information, you can request they upload it to their profile. Friend recommendations allow users to have friends vouch for their profile/listing. The highest form of screening are user reviews earned by traveling or hosting on Airbnb. These are an indication that they have successfully completed a transaction and trip through the Airbnb system, and are feedback directly from the traveler/host.
