The Windham Hilltop Chalet features 30 acres of complete privacy atop Windham mountain, minutes to Windham shops and base lodge. You’re so close to the stars you will feel like you can grab them. Let all of your troubles escape you. 4 bedrooms, chefs kitchen, game room, fire pit and hot tub.
The space
The house itself is occasionally visited by deer, hummingbirds, wild turkeys, and other various wildlife. The house can comfortably host eight people; children and pets are welcome. High-speed internet ensures you can stay as connected as you like. You’ll stay cool in the summer with split unit HVAC systems and a window unit in the upstairs bedroom. There’s plenty to do on the property, and you’re just a short ride away from the many attractions of the Catskill region.
We are open year round, however do not accept instant bookings for Nov-Mar. For advance notice winter reservations please send us a message and we can make your dates available for booking if you agree to the safety precautions and all guests will have 4WD.
Exterior:
The house sits on 30 acres at the top of a mountain. Instead of seeing neighbors, you’ll have a beautiful view each season: the verdant green canopy of trees in the Spring and Summer, the explosion of autumnal colors in the Fall, and mountain view’s all year long.
The home features a large wrap around gated deck with an outdoor dining table and lounge area. Step off the deck to enjoy the fire pit. Swing-set for young children also recently installed. Hike our 30 private acres with Mountain View’s, stream and waterfalls.
Common Area:
Relax in the great room, which features a vaulted wood ceiling that evokes the warmth of a ski chalet. The living room area leads into the dining area and kitchen.
Kitchen:
Bring home your bounty from the farmer’s market and enjoy whipping up the region’s fresh produce and meat in our fully equipped kitchen. There you’ll find a dishwasher, drip coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, mixer, and all the needed cooking equipment from pots, pans, utensils, cutting boards, measuring cups, etc.
On the first floor, 3 bedrooms 2 with queen size beds and one with a full size bed
On the second floor is one additional bedroom with a king sized bed and rocking recliner. You’ll also find an amazing bonus room to occupy the kids or adults. The bonus room features a large flat screen TV, comfy seating, massage chair, a pool table, shuffleboard, football, and various board games.
Bathrooms:
There are two full bathrooms, both on the first floor with gorgeous tiled showers.
Work & Play:
High-speed internet makes the space great for remote working or binge your favorite series from one of our smart TV’s. Or unplug with one of our various board games, game of pool, foosball, or shuffleboard.
Location:
The chalet is 5 minutes to Main Street Windham, with a diner, convenient stores, market, and restaurants. Enjoy hiking, biking, and golf within the greater township. Visit Hunter mountain as well in under 15 minutes!
Guest has access to the entire house except the unoccupied owner’s suite on the second floor and the garage.
There is a reverse osmosis filtration system installed in the kitchen for drinking water and ice maker.
Dogs are allowed however they are not allowed on furniture or beds and must be picked up after outside.
We have a pet fee of $100/stay with a max of 2.
All pets must be registered at the time of booking and crated when not supervised. One 42Lx28Wx30H dog crate is available for use and accommodates most breeds comfortably (crate bedding not provided). Dog bowls also available for use.
Guest access
Guest has access to the entire house except a bedroom (unoccupied) on the second floor and the garage.
Other things to note
All water in the house is potable but we prefer to drink from the reverse osmosis filtration system installed in the kitchen sink. It produces up to 4 gallons per hour so we suggest water enthusiasts keep a full pitcher in the fridge to use before group hikes or other all day outings.
