*New Stainless Steel Appliances!*
Escape the stress of the city and experience the relaxing peace and tranquility of our log cabin surrounded by tall pines with stunning views of Lake Jean. Imagine the look on the faces of your friends or family when they step out of the car and take in the calm, smooth surface of the lake through the trees. They look at you and smile, wondering where you found this place. Inside you'll know that you made the right choice.

The space
We are so happy with our brand new Frigidaire stainless steel kitchen appliances which include refrigerator/freezer, oven and stove, microwave, and dishwasher.

Thank you for taking the time to read this listing fully so you know what you’re about to experience. We think everyone should experience a real log cabin in the woods, surrounded by wildlife, nature, and the other neighbors, who share this area with us. Our neighborhood is quiet and quaint, and we think our cabin in particular has the best view of Lake Jean that anyone could ask for. There’s nothing quite like waking up, taking a few steps out of your bedroom, and seeing the sparkle of the morning sun on the rippling waters of the lake. Listening to the song of the birds for hours is nothing short of therapeutic and good for the soul and the mind. You might just fall in love with this place too and you won’t want to leave.

It’s a magical place and is convenient to La Grange but tucked away in the woods so it feels pretty secluded.

The cabin is inside a neighborhood but it is surrounded by pine trees. You can only see one house across the lake when you’re on the back deck.

La Grange and all its attractions are about 15-20 minutes away. There is a small town called Winchester 5 minutes away. Murphys Steakhouse is a very popular restaurant there, reservations are recommended.

Our kitchen is well stocked. If you show up with only groceries, you’ll have everything you need to make basic meals.

To us, it’s the best darn place on the planet. And if you love the idea of a cabin in the woods, please keep reading. And we look forward to sharing a piece of our hearts with you.

If this cabin is all booked up, check out the 3/2 retro log cabin that is RIGHT NEXT DOOR to this one! It’s called Gran’s Getaway Cabin, on the same lake, same incredible amenities but with a very different theme and personality. Click on my profile to find it and the other properties I manage. :)

The Blessed Cloud - Log Cabin on the Lake:
This is a very special cabin. Designed and built in 2005, it was a labor of love from the beginning and a dream come true for the owner’s parents looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Houston.

This is a true, dry-stacked Texas Red Heart Cedar log cabin. If you love the smell of cedar, book an extra night!
The private neighborhood is safe, quiet, and off a well-known highway in La Grange. This gives guests easy access to the quickest route to town for shopping, sight-seeing, dining and fun experiences unique to the area.

Guests can enjoy fishing just steps away from the cabin's doors. Bring your own fishing gear. If you make a catch, prepare it at the outdoor sink at the bottom of the stairs. If the fish is too small to eat, we ask that you throw it back in the lake. If you want to spend some time on the lake, please bring your own paddleboat, canoe, kayak, etc. as well as life jackets. This is NOT a swimming lake.

The back deck is one of the best features about the cabin. You can enjoy your morning coffee as you watch the sun rise above the water. Tune in to the sweet song of the local birds. Spot some deer silently grazing on the grass. It is the epitome of peace and tranquility and we invite you to lose yourself in it.

As the song goes, "The stars at night are big and bright (clap, clap, clap, clap), Deep in the Heart of Texas." Well, you can't get closer to the Heart of Texas and, if you go outside and look up, you'll see what the song is talking about. The stargazing is worth the trip out to the cabin!

Possibility of outside sounds when at the cabin:
-outside air condensing unit located at bedroom window of master and guest room
-sprinkler heads in the woods from our septic system (only on occasion)
-gravel sounds when a car drives in the neighborhood
-wild animals at night (insects, coyotes, wild dogs, racoons, cats, deer)
-neighborhood dogs may bark during the day
-neighbors across the lake may converse outside their homes during the day
-neighborhood children may play outside on their property and its possible that guests outside the cabin might hear them
-amazing chorus of birds from the nearby Bird Sanctuary at sunrise and through the morning
-far off road traffic sounds from Hwy 153 (not loud but noticeable when big trucks drive by and let out air brakes, not heard inside the cabin)

Guest access
You will have access to the full cabin. This is a dedicated vacation rental. Across the street and to each side, we have neighbors. It is a private community where people lead their lives.

Other things to note
There is a tiny town about 5 minutes away called Winchester which has a very small convenient store and a great Steakhouse called Murphy's. For groceries, you have two options that are about 15-20 minutes away in either Giddings to the north or La Grange to the south.

This property is best suited for adults. The back deck is wonderful and has open railings and is NOT screened in, which could pose as a fall hazard for small children or people who are not using caution. The lake is also on the property but is not fenced in. There is absolutely no swimming as this is a safety hazard. Bring your own paddleboats, canoes, kayaks and life jackets.
